《Fall in Love with Me》Chapter 5

I landed somewhere in Italy the next day. I don't even know how many hours the flight was.
The flight attendant asked if I needed anything and directed me to walk down the railing. There a car was waiting for me. The driver put my things in the huge black vehicle.
"Excuse me sir do you speak English?" I asked the driver.
"A little" he said in an Italian accent.
"Where exactly are we?" I asked.
I didn't know much about Italy but I knew a few cities.
"We are in Tuscany" he said.
"Oh and where is my apartment located? Is it close to here" I asked him.
"Apartment? Uhm, no, we go to house, it close from here" he said.
"Oh ok." I guess he rented me a house. I thought it was going to be something small. We drove around for about 20 min. Then we were pulling up to this beautiful vineyard.
We headed down the road and we stopped at this huge four story house. Scratch that, mansion.
"Can I get your name?" I asked the driver.
"My name is Lucca ma'am" he said.
"Lucca, I think you have the wrong place. I'm supposed to be going to a different house, where I will be staying. I think you made a mistake." I said looking at the house from the car.
"No mistake ma'am. Mr. Moretti said to bring you here when you arrive." He said.
"Well it looks like I need to speak with Mr. Moretti. Where is he?"
"Out on business, but he should be home soon." He said.
Just then Lucca opened the door for me. I tried to grab my luggage but someone from inside came and grabbed all my stuff. "Please leave my things. There is some kind of mix up. I'm supposed to be living somewhere else and I'm here." They completely ignored me and took my things.
"Please follow me" someone said to me. I turned around to say bye to Lucca but he was gone.
I walked inside. A maid guided me to a room. All my stuff was in here. They were unpacking for me. "Excuse me. Please stop. There's been some kind of mistake, please don't unpack my clothes." They paid no attention to me, it's like I was taking to a wall.

I decided to ignore them. I needed a shower. I just got off a long flight. I didn't plan on staying here but I sure could use the shower. I grabbed some clothes from the closet and walked into the bathroom. It was huge, just like the room.
When I walked out of the shower, everyone was gone. Well thank, goodness.
I decided to go to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. I was starving. I got lost, several times. This house was way to big.
When I finally found it, the maids didn't let me touch anything. They told me everything they had prepared and if I didn't like it they would prepare something else. I said whatever they made was fine. They guided me to a table, where I ate my lunch.
I decided to explore the place, since I had nothing to do, but wait for Mr. Moretti. I found a room full of books. It was amazing in here. I was looking thru the titles. There was original Jane Austin books. I felt right at home.
I was examining a book when a voice behind me startled me "well hello there doctor" I heard from behind.
I accidentally dropped the book and picked it up quickly and turned around. It wasn't Moretti. It was someone younger. Oh this must be his brother.
"Hello" I said politely.
"I'm Matteo, Matteo Moretti." He said extending his hand. I extended my hand to shake his, but instead he grabbed my hand and kissed it. I pulled my hand back and he smirked. "It's nice to see you again doctor. Thank you for saving my life" he said.
"It's no problem at all, that's just what I do" I said to him. He made intense eye contact with me. I hated eye contact. I hated talking to strangers. Ugh.
"Of course not. I owe you my life. I will do anything you want or need doctor" he winked at me. "Name it and I will do it" he said.
"How do I contact your brother? I believe there's been a mistake and"
"Is that what you're really asking from me. My brother" he sighed.
"I just need to talk to him. They brought me to this place and it's a mistake. I shouldn't be here, nor do I want to be here." I said.

He looked at me surprised. "You don't want to be here?" He said.
"No, i don't. I expected a small apartment or a small house, not this." I said signaling at the house.
"Well you're definitely different from everyone else. Most people would jump at the chance to live here. Yet you don't want to" he said.
"No i don't. I came here to work. He said he would find me a place. I expect to pay rent. This is just too much." I said.
"You're different,I like that. I really like that" he said.
"You keep saying That. I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or if you thing I'm weird" shoot, did that just come out. I was thinking that but I didn't mean to say it.
He laughed at me. "It's definitely a good thing doctor" just then his phone rang. He spoke in Italian, so I didn't understand a thing. "My brother is here. He's in his study" he said.
"Do you mind guiding the way, I get lost every time I turn a corner in this house" I said.
He laughed again "your funny doc, come this way" he guided me to a huge room. "He's expecting you, just go ahead and walk in. I'm going out, see you later doc." He said as he walked away and winked at me.
"Bye Matteo" I said. I did as he told me. I walked in and sure enough Alessandro was sitting on an expensive black couch. He looked up at me "hello Mr. Moretti" I said.
"Audrey please. I told you it's Alessandro. Please have a seat" he pointed to the couch in front of him.
I nodded and sat down. "I heard you wanted to speak to me."
"I do Mr...." he gave me a look "Alessandro. What exactly am I doing here?"
"You're helping me with the clinic" he said.
"No i mean what am I doing in this house? I thought I would have a small apartment or room or something along those lines. I didn't expect you to bring me to your home" I said.
"Aubrey, I need you here. It's easier for both of us if you're here. That way we don't waste any time. You did say on the phone that you wanted to finish as soon as possible. This is the way to do it. If we live together than we can settle things quicker. As you can tell I live a bit far from the city. I like it that way, if you lived in the city, it would be harder to be in touch with you" he explained.
"I still don't think it's correct. You're my boss. I know I don't look like someone you would go out with but I still care what people think" I said and blushed. I looked away. Did I just say that to him. "Not that there's anything between us, or will there ever be, it's just, you see in America, we do things differently... geez I don't know how to explain" I was at loss for words.
"Aubrey who I see or don't see isn't anyone's business and don't worry no one will find out. Everyone here signed a contract, so they won't say a thing."
"Ok." Was all I could say. Well I just made a fool of myself. "When are we staring on the project?" I asked him changing the subject.
"In a few days. I have business to attend to that can't wait." He said.
"Then why did you fly me in so quickly." I asked him.
"Because I wasn't sure what day we were going to start. I just need you here" he said.
"Ok then, if I'm staying we should discuss rent" I stated.
"Aubrey please. I'm a a billionaire. A few dollars isn't going to affect me" he said.
What he just said offered me. I was mad "Well then, take it out of my paycheck, it's not right to" he cut me off.
"Absolutely not. Look Aubrey, I'm a busy person and this conversation is pointless" he said. Did he just say that. He just made my blood boil. "I have some things I need to take care of. Lucca is at your disposable and Matteo will show you around while I finish my buissness" he said and stood up and walked out the door.
He just offended me and left! Ugh! This man made me so angry.
I decided to go to bed. I was jet leg. I would deal with all this tomorrow.
