Aubrey POV

I went home and ate dinner. Today was a long day. I'm glad to be home. I took a long bath and then I went to sleep.

I woke up the next day and went into the hospital. I checked on all my patients and they seemed to be doing fine. The OR was crazy today, there was so many c-sections, thankfully all the babies were ok.

I got called into the ER for an interconsultation, thankfully everything was ok. I was going back to check on my hospitalized patients because my shift was almost ending and I ran into the director on the hallway. With him was the man from yesterday.

Ugh, dang it. I was going to walk by like nothing happened but unfortunately Dr.Gellar stopped me.

"Dr. Emerson" I stopped and turned towards him.

"Dr. Gellar." I said.

"You remember these gentleman from last night." He said pointing to two men in suits.

"Of course" I said. "Gentleman" I nodded towards him.

The tall dark brown hair guy came up to me and his hand stood out. "I'm Alessandro Moretti" he said.

I definitely knew him from somewhere. "Nice to meet you Mr. Moretti." I said shaking his hand.

The other guy came up to me, "Leonardo Rossi" the other guy said and held out his had. I shook it and nodded at him.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Rossi. Well if you gentlemen excuse me, I have my little patients waiting for me." I said trying to leave this situation. It made me feel awkward.

"Actually Dr. Emerson, I would like to see you in my office" the director said.

Great, I thought. "Now?" I asked. I really didn't want to go.

"Yes now Dr. Emerson" he said. I sighed and followed the men from behind. I really did hate confrontation or conversations. We got to his office. "Please everyone have a seat" he said. I sat down in the far corner. As far away from everyone as I could. "Dr. Emerson, thanks for joining us. You see, Mr. Moretti here is opening up a children's clinic in Italy and he wants our hospital to partner with him" he said.

What the heck does that have to do with me? I thought. "Well that's very good, but why am I here exactly?" I asked the director.

"Well it seems like you made quite an impression on Mr. Moretti last night." He said. I what?

"That is correct Dr. Emerson. I would love it if someone like you would help me start up my clinic. I need someone who loves what they do and Dr. Gellar assures me that you are the best, so I would love to have you." Mr. Moretti said.

I turned to him. This man made me nervous. "I appreciate the offer but I have no experience in administration or anything of the sort. I'm just a pediatrician." I said.

"That's where you're wrong, I can tell you love what you do. You stood up for your patient, I need the kind of devotion when I hire my staff, along with other things" he said.

"I'm very grateful for the offer Mr. Moretti, I really am, but I don't speak Italian and I'm sure you can find someone more qualified for the job. I'm sorry but I have to decline your offer." I said as I stood up.

"Please Tell me you will at least consider it Dr. Emerson" Moretti said.

Before I could say anything Mr. Gellar cut in and stood up "oh course she will, won't you Doctor." He said.

"Um sure." I mumbled.

"Please Dr. Emerson, it would mean so much to me. In fact, why don't you let me take you to dinner to explain everything more deeply?" Moretti asked.

Did he just ask me out to dinner? "Um no..." I was cut off by the director.

"Of course she would love to" Gellar said.

"Perfect" Moretti said. I'll pick you up at 7. He said.

"I'm sorry Mr. Moretti my shift ends at 8 and I can't..." I was cut off again.

"Actually Dr. Peterson is coming in early today. You can leave right now actually" Gellar said.

"Perfect, we can leave now" Moretti said.

What is happening right now? "Um ok, I'll go change, where would you like to meet Mr. Moretti?" I asked.

"I'll drive us there, unless you have a car?" He asked.

"She doesn't have a car, she's one of the few employees that doesn't" Gellar cut in.

This man need to shut his mouth. He was sharing way to much information on me and accepting dinners that I would never agreed to.

"Perfect I'll meet you outside doctor." Moretti said and that Leonardo fellow followed him.

I walked out and went to the locker rooms to change out of my scrubs. I had simple jeans and a t shirt and a coat. I didn't come prepared for a fancy dinner. I didn't even have makeup with me.

I was known in this hospital for being a plain Jane and I was fine with that. I did have a brush so I took my ponytail out and brushed my hair a bit. I looked in the mirror. Well that's the best I could do.

Well here goes nothing, I thought as I walked out of the hospital to meet Alessandro Moretti.
