Grace's pov:
We were now back home. After the awful meeting with my parents, Xavier suggested we come back home.
I laid on my bed looking at the ceiling.
What can I do? I feel so bored right now. Maybe I should cook dinner too.
I stood up and made my way downstairs. Thankfully there was some grocery in the kitchen for me to cook this dinner.
A
after looking for all the ingredients, I decided to make chicken and tomato skillet with garlic and capers. It was a recipe that mom taught me when I was still in college.
The ingredients needed to be ground black pepper, olive oil, minced garlic, red onion, honey, tomatoes, salt and red wine vinegar.
I started to cook following the receipt mom taught me. It was smelling really good. When it was almost done, I chopped some fresh parsley and added it on top. It looked beautiful.
"I could get used to seeing you cook."
I jumped startled at the voice. I turned back and saw Xavier leaning against the wall, watching me.
"Since when are you here?" I asked.
"Since you put the chicken in the sauce." He chuckled and made me shocked.
Damn, he was here all this time and I did not notice him!
"You have used the kitchen more than I did during all these months and you were here for only one day." He said walking beside me.
"I was getting bored so I thought of cooking," I said turning off the oven.
"My friend invited me to his bachelor party tonight and I have to go." He said and I nodded.
"Do you want to come with me? I can tell his fiancee you are coming with me." He suggested but I quickly shake my head no.

"I will be fine home, maybe I will meet her another day." I shrugged and he nodded.
"Ok well, I will come home late tonight. Don't wait for me and go straight to bed." He ordered and I chuckled.
"No need to tell me what to do mister," I said and he rolled his eyes smiling.
"Anyway are you going to serve me or should I go empty stomach at the party." He said playfully and I raised an eyebrow.
"Aren't they going to have food there?" I asked and he shrugged.
"They do but that will mean that all the food you make going to waste. And it smells freaking good." He said making me smile.
"Fine go and sit down, I will bring it," I said and he nodded contented.
I took out two plates and make his plate. I walked to the dining room and walked to Xavier.
I put the plate in front of him and he started to eat right away. Guess someone was hungry.
I sat in front of him and started to eat too.
"Wow, that's delicious. It's exactly like my mom's food." He said impressed.
"Thanks," I said and he winks at me before going back to eat.
This man is surely something else.
---
Xavier finished first and went to his friend place for the party. I cleaned up and turned off some lights before going to my room.
I changed up in a tank top and a short. I was going to lay on the bed but then I remember that I forgot to do something. I grabbed my phone and went on one of the couch which was in the room. I dialled Mom number and hear it rang.
"Hello." She said almost in a tiring voice. I frowned.

"Hey, mom," I replied.
"Oh my god dear it's you." She said now happy. I chuckled.
"Yeah, mom how are you?" I asked.
"I am completely fine, just a bit tired." She said sighing
"And how is a dad?"
"He is fine too. Just missing you a lot."
"I missed you both too. And did you moved out yet?" I asked.
"Yeah, we did. We moved to this house and had to rearrange many things that are also why we both are really tired." She said and I sighed.
"Wish I was there to help you both," I said and she chuckled.
"It's alright dear. But do come to visit us, we want to see you and meet Xavier" She said and I nodded even if she can't see me.
"Of course I will maybe Monday I will ask Xavier to drop me at your place," I said.
"Oh, why not tomorrow?" She asked and I could tell she was frowning.
"Samantha told Aunt Stacy that Xavier and I will look after her children during the weekend so they will be here and I won't be able to come," I explained.
"Oh dear. I hope everything is fine with Xavier?" She asked.
"Hmm yeah. We decided to become friend otherwise it would be awkward between us." I said remembering our conversations.
"That's great. Oh and look who came home." She said.
"Martha whose on the phone?" Dad asked in the background.
"Oh, your favourite daughter." Mom said and I chuckled. I was their only daughter.
"What seriously! Give me the phone I want to talk to her too." Dad said and I laughed.
"Hello, Grace." He said.
"Hello, dad," I replied.
"So how are you and how are things there? You didn't had any problem setting down right? Xavier isn't causing a problem?" He asked concerned.
"Roger give her the time to talk!" Mom scolded him in the background.
"Dad I am fine and everything's fine. Hopefully, I will visit you on Monday."
"Great. We will wait for you."
"Grace, sweetie we will call you later ok? There is someone at the door." Mom said and I nodded.
"Ok mom bye!"
"Bye!" They replied before hanging up.
Now I can go and sleep. It felt good to talk to them. Hopefully, I will be able to meet them on Monday. I laid on the bed and pulled the cover-up.
