On the day of the ball.

I took a full day leave from the hospital today as it was the ball day today.

My anxiety is not coping up today with me, I also exercised for 1 additional hour to release the pent up stress.

Which made me sleep 3 hrs after working out. I woke up at 11 am again from the second nap.

I baked muffins at least 150 muffins, no idea why I did it, maybe I will give some to Jo, Jul Jose, Charlie, Maya...

No Savanah she will throw them away it will be a waste.

No cupcakes for Maya.

I can also give some to Leo but what if he doesn't eat sugar. No worries I will ask him.

I also cleaned my whole apartment maybe because Leo was coming and I didn't wanna give him an impression of a messy girl.

Only my books and notes are unsystematic and they are a lot of bundles to be systemised.

It was now 6:30 in the evening and Leo told me he would come to pick me up at 8.

I went inside my bathroom to take a quick shower and do some occasional skincare.

After the shower, I dried my hair with the hairdryer and heated my curling iron to give my hair some waves.

I did a rope crown braid and left the rest of the hair to reach my waist, and even added some small flower bands on it.

I quickly applied my body lotion and some flavoured cream that Jul made me buy.

According to her, my skin will smell right good it is smelling like vanilla.

But not a strong one.

I started to do my makeup.

I applied a thin layer of foundation with light silver eyes and nude pink lipstick.

I am not a heavy make-up kind of person.

At last, I started wearing my dress. It was a lavender colour half shoulder and a thigh-split dress.

The slit was not high which was a relief and I would not be worried all the time people saw my little lady.

I finally wore my diamond stones in my ears and my silver heels.

The last time looking in the mirror I felt like a Disney princess.

Looking at the watch it was almost 8 and I started to pack my clutch. My doorbell rang telling me that Leo has arrived.

I opened the door and saw Leo in his black tuxedo with a smile on his face. He was checking me out and I was him out too.

"You look stunning Savanah," Leo said still his eyes roaming from my head to toe.

"You don't look bad either," I said

"I have a small gift for you may I?" Leo asked while entering my apartment.

"Nice place," Leo said.

"Thanks but it's not the best part," I said.

I told Leo to follow me to the balcony near the kitchen. The balcony has small plants and a comfortable chair with the view of high sky-touching buildings of New York.

"It is indeed the best part," Leo said.

We both came inside the house and Leo was looking around my house with observant eyes.

He then went to my bookshelf and started looking at the books that I read while taking one out.

"Nice collection." He said while reading the book.

"Thank you, so do you like muffins I made 150 muffins today would you like to take some home with you," I asked.

"Love muffins, I will take them." He said while giving me a reassuring smile.

He didn't ask me why I baked 150 muffins, it made me comfortable not to explain things to him.

Or maybe he is not interested in what you do Savanah.

Leo pulled two plastic boxes out of his coat's pockets and opened one of them it was a corsage.

"May I," Leo asked me to put forward my hand.

The corsage has white flowers with silver ribbons on them and green leaves, it looks beautiful.

My mouth flew open it surprised me that the tomato face Leo can be so sweet sometimes.

"You don't have to wear it if you don't like it, Savanah," Leo said he read my face.

"No no it's beautiful I just never thought that I will ever get to wear it," I said.

"You didn't wear it at your high school prom." He asked.

"Nope never went," I said.

"Why?" Leo asked.

Why? My grandpa died and after the funeral, my mom left me at home with dad alone for 2 days. He was drunk and angry so he locked me in the storeroom for 2 days without food and water. I was rescued by my mom.

"Just my grandpa died at that time, so I never went," I said.

Leo took my hand and tied the corsage on my right hand, his touch was soft like he was afraid that my wrist could break any minute if he put force on them.

I took another corsage and headed towards Leo. Did I tell you leo was maybe 6 feet tall or more?

I was close enough to Leo to feel his mint breath on my forehead. I am sweating. Oh my God, I am.

"You smell nice," Leo said

"Thank you," I said.

A sudden wave of a blush crept into my face. I couldn't stop smiling. Maybe Jul was right about the flavoured cream.

I took the pin and pinned the corsage at the lapel of his jacket.

Only to hurt my hand in this process.

"Ahhhh."

"What happen are you alright," Leo said with a worry in his voice.

"Oh nothing I just stabbed myself with the pin I guess," I said.

Leo took my hand and started inspecting my hand. My eyes went to his watch the same black silver Rolex.

Is he the one?

No, he is not Sav every young man has this watch. Stop being paranoid.

"Are you okay, you just spaced out?" Leo asked.

"Ya, I am great, I just was thinking about something else," I said.

"Don't worry I am gonna be there for you, plus my mom would be there and Adam's fiance Elyse will be there too, you will get off with her," Leo said with confidence.

"Are you sure it's the best decision to take me with you," I asked while doubting that I will embarrass him.

"On my life Savanah, you will accompany me, and stop doubting yourself." He said.

"I didn't doubt myself," I said and it's a lie.

"You need to work on your poker face, you can't hide from me." He chuckled.

I don't wanna hide anymore but telling you things will surely make you hide from me Leo

"Shall we?" Leo asked.

"We shall." I smiled and we stepped out of my apartment and went to the car.
