《Mr. Harsh & Her》Chapter 23

Rachel's POV

It was my first day of college. I'd been waiting for this day ever since I left high school. Alexander and I had a long discussion on what would be best for me and I'd settled on jewellery design. At that very minute Alexander made a call and everything was arranged for me. I'd be attending the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture majoring in jewellery design.

I got out the car and Alexander got out the driver's seat to escort me inside. "I've taken care of all your admin, and I'll fetch you when you're done. If you need anything, speed dial Jock or Lev and they'll bring it to you."

I leaned up and brought my lips to his in a quick but firm kiss. He reciprocated the action and pulled me by my waist closer to him and deepened what I had started. Luckily nobody was watching.

I pulled back and stared at him adoringly, "Thank you for everything. You have no idea how much I appreciate this."

"Like I said, anything for you, princess." He said goodbye to me and drove off swiftly.

I entered the building and was lost. I had no idea where to go or what to do. As I turned right to walk to where the admin building sign was pointed, a girl with blonde hair and pretty green eyes slammed into me hard. We both fell on the floor in an instant but she quickly stood up and helped me.

"Oh I'm so sorry. Damien was a bitch this morning and dipped my shoes in oil, and these floors make it worse," she huffed out pulling her tight, short purple dress down. I helped pick up her books that scattered on the floor and handed it to her.

I heard a roar of laughter and looked behind her to see a group of 2 guys and another girl clenching their stomachs from their fit of laughter.

"Oh it's alright. Sorry about your uhm-shoes," I said a little awkwardly and looked down at her sneakers glistening that was indeed drenched in oil.

"Shut up you pricks!" she yelled at the 2 guys and girl coming over to us.

"That's the third person today and it's still morning," said one of the guys who had brown hair and light hazel eyes.

She gave him a fake smile and elbowed him when he came closer. "Damien needs to learn to take a fucking joke," she said in annoyance.

"And so do you," said the other girl who also had blonde hair but blue eyes. She was tall and pretty. Exactly like those Victoria Secret Angels. She had her arm looped through the other guy who was next to her. He had grey eyes and hair that matched. He dyed it an ash grey colour similar to his eyes.

"He didn't have to go this far! I only printed out fake adoption papers in his name," said the girl who bumped into me as she fixed her hair.

The guy with ash grey hair rolled his eyes at her. "Yeah, I would do something worse than oil your shoes if I found fake adoption documents with my name."

The girl who looked like a Victoria's Secret angel looked at me. "I haven't seen you around here before, you new?"

I nodded at her. "Yes, I came in today. It's my first day."

"Today? These snobs let you join 3 weeks into the semester? They are usually have sticks shoved up their asses," said the guy with the brown hair.

"Don't be like that, Amir," chided the girl with the oily sneakers. "We should welcome her. Hi. I'm Julia," she said and stuck her hand out for me to shake. "That over there is Deana and Blake-"

"And I'm Amir. Pleasure to meet such a pretty lady," the boy with brown hair introduced himself and shook my hand before placing a soft kiss on the top. I felt slightly uncomfortable and pulled my hand away. Deana waved at me and Blake nodded.

"I'm Rachel," I said a little shyly and looked down.

"What class do you have now?" asked Julia as she once again tried to steady herself with her slippery shoes.

I took out the sheet of paper from my tote bag with my class schedule on it. "It says I have Block C first which is ornamentation and manufacturing. I was going to the admin building to find out everything."

"Oh that's perfect. Julia has the same class as you and I'm guessing Block A is next period. We might all have design together. But for now, Madame Foster is killing me with this French embroidery project. See you all later," Deana said and kissed Blake before taking off.

"See you at lunch, Rachel," Amir said and winked at me as he also went to his class with Blake walking alongside him.

Julia grabbed onto my shoulder balancing herself as she proceeded to take a few steps forward, "So I'll just show you around since you're new and you can help me not fall down..."

The day had passed quite smoothly much to my surprise. All my teachers were collectively grumpy and frustrated since I was a new student joining but when I showed them my student card with my name, they instantly perked up and gave me warm welcome. Undoubtedly the Viotto-Ashford surname scared them to death. To be honest it scared me at times too.

It was the end of the day and my new friends and I settled on one of the picnic tables outside in the warm sun. This was the first time I had ever had friends and I wasn't exactly sure how to go about this. I didn't exactly know what friends do or what they talk about.

"Stop it!" Julia growled and smacked Amir on his head as he kept on making oil puns at her.

"Jules, you know what you and that oil have in common?" Amir continued with his puns, "You both are extra virgin," he laughed and earned another smack on his head.

I had learned that Julia was majoring in the same field as I was – jewellery design. Deana was doing fashion design while Amir and Blake were both majoring in architecture.

Along with his brown hair and hazel eyes, Amir had a rich caramel skin tone that I was very curious about, so I asked Deana. She had told me that he was of Egyptian origin and came from a very affluential family in the middle east. They all actually came from affluential families.

Julia was the daughter of the city's mayor and Damien whom she cursed all day was her little brother. Blake was the son of a famous soccer player whose name I had forgotten while Deana's mom was a Victoria's Secret model. It made sense because Deana also looked like a model herself.

Deana picked up my left hand where my wedding ring was and admired it. "This is so striking. The diamonds gleam in the sun!" Deana said in awe and touched my ring. "Wow, why didn't I notice that before?" Julia came closer and also inspected my ring.

I looked over at Amir to see his face in a straight expression. "Are you engaged? Got a boyfriend?" he asked intently.

4 pairs of eyes studied me curiously. I nervously smiled at them and shook my head. "No, I'm actually married."

Amir's face significantly dropped and Julia and Deana looked at each other with huge smiles, fangirling over what I had said.

"Married at 19? To who?" asked Blake. He wasn't one to speak much but he occasionally did.

I opened my mouth to explain but Amir beat me to it. "Holy shit, you guys," he said and grabbed my student card that was laid on the table. He passed it around to the rest of them and when Deana and Julia saw it, they squealed even harder.

"Viotto-Ashford?" Blake questioned astonished. I nodded at him and took a sip of my cranberry juice that I had bought earlier.

"The major mining guy, restaurant, casino guy, investment guy? That guy?!" Amir further questioned in shock.

"I think I'm having aneurysm," Julia feigned dramatically.

I slightly laughed at all of their reactions because I honestly had no clue who Alexander was or what he did until the other day.

"I recently got married to Alexander," I explained to them. "He'll be picking me up soon."

As soon as I had said that a very fancy car that I had seen in a magazine once, a Bugatti Chiron if I'm not mistaken pulled up across from us. Alexander's new flavour of the month.

Julia fake fainted from beside me and while Amir stared across with a straight face. Deana and Blake admired the car in amazement and then did a double take when a very handsome Alexander stepped out.

"We're having a girl's night soon, Rach and we want all the details!" Deana exclaimed yet whispered at the same time. Julia was still fake fainting from beside me while Amir was expressionless. Blake however walked up to the car and started inspecting it.

Alexander walked over to me as many people stared at him however he didn't care for them as he was solely focused on me.

He came over to the picnic table where I was gathering all my things back into my tote bag and he offered me his hand to help me up. He greeted me first and kissed my cheek. I blushed as everyone was looking at me. Literally everyone.

"How was your first day, princess?" he asked me and then nodded at my 3 new friends at the table who looked at him in wonderment.

"It was fabulous," I said softly to him knowing that I would narrate my entire day to him in the car ride home. "Alexander, I made friends!" I gushed out excitedly at him. "That's Julia, Deana, Amir and Blake is over there admiring your car," I pointed at Blake who was admiring the wheels.

"Hello ladies' and Amir," he politely shook all of their hands. "I'm Alexander, her husband," he said proudly. Blake came back to the table and also introduced himself to Alexander.

Blake and Alexander casually conversed about the car for few minutes before we left and I was so excited to return tomorrow. I finally have something to do that makes me immensely happy and people to call friends.
