~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My alarm went off as I was half asleep. I rolled over and smashed my hand on the big button on top of it. I looked over at it to see it was 7:30 Am. I groaned and mumbled to myself. Why on earth would I have my alarm so early on a Sunday? I slipped out of bed and got a quick shower before getting dressed. My mom would be leaving in three days including today.
I checked my phone and didn't see any messages so I grabbed my book off of my nightstand and walked over to my big comfy circle chair and picked it up. I went out on my balcony and set it down before I sat down and started reading. Usually when I start reading I wont stop for a couple hours and that was my plan. Soon I was swept into a different world that was much better than mine. That's one of my favorite things about reading, you get to live somewhere else- be someone else for a while and forget about anything bad going on in your life.
Quite a while passed before I finished the thick book. I got up and stretched, hearing my back crack from sitting in the same position for such a long time. I picked up my chair and placed it back inside and put my book on my book shelf that was over flowing, I made a mental note to look for a bigger one. I looked over to my clock to see I had been reading for four hours and that it was about noon.
I slipped out of my room and crept down stairs. I looked out the front window to see if my mom's car was there. I didn't see it so I let out a breath of relief as I walked into the kitchen. I leaned on the counter after I got a drink and thought. I was getting hungry but did I really need it? I walked over to the mirror in the living room and pulled up my shirt to show my stomach. Sure, I wasn't fat or overweight but maybe I could lose a couple pounds right? That's what everybody was saying so maybe I should listen and drop a couple pounds.
I sighed and walked back upstairs without food. I grabbed my phone and looked at it to see a message from my mom 'I went to my friends house for the day so don't get into anything, especially the kitchen, don't want the pig to get any fatter.' I took a deep breath in and didn't respond because I knew she was right. I went down stairs on the couch and decided to have a Netflix marathon. After quite a while, I fell asleep all huddled up In a ball. Don't you just love lazy Sundays?
****************************************
I jolted awake by water splashing over my face. I wiped my eyes and looked up to see a blurry figure standing there. I blinked a couple times and my vision cleared enough to see my mom standing there with one hand on her hip and an empty glass in the other. "Get up, you are going to be late for school." she snapped and walked away mumbling insults about me. At lease she would be leaving tomorrow I looked up to the clock on the wall above the couch and saw that school started in fifteen minutes. I jumped up and ran upstairs.
I jumped into the shower quickly and rinsed off without wetting my hair because that would take to long too dry. I got out and dried off while I brushed my teeth. I got dressed and grabbed my phone seeing that school started in eight minutes. I slipped my shoes on and slipped out the door. I started running to school and as I passed Zack's house I saw that he was already gone. I didn't know if he had already gone to school or was somewhere else.
I wanted to make sure he was alright but I knew I needed to stop running into him because see where that already got me? Running away from the cops, running from a creepy dude, jumping a giant gap that could have possibly killed me if I missed and several nights of barely any sleep.
I made it to the school doors right as the three minute bell rung . I ran to my math class without dropping by my locker. I slipped into the door right as the bell rang, panting and probably as red as a tomato. The teacher looked up to me and have me a dirty look so I just smiled at him. I slipped into my seat as he started role call.
***************************************
Lunch time finally rolled around and as I was walking to the library, I stopped at my locker and grabbed all of my homework that I had gotten so far. I shoved it into my back pack and kept on walking. All the hallways were empty because everyone was at lunch so I thought I was good but suddenly someone grabbed my arm and spun be around. I let out a little squeal with wide eyes as I jumped back out of their grip. My heart beat quickened when I saw a very angry looking Zack.
"What- what do you want?" I stuttered. He was probably about a foot taller than me and that mixed with the whole murderous bad boy look, he looked pretty terrifying.
"What was that about?" he asked.
"What? What was what about?" I asked. He took a step forward and I took a step back.
"Yesterday, what the hell were you doing there? You could have gotten yourself hurt or killed. And the roof jumping stunt that I heard about? You're lucky you made that. How stupid are you to try something like that? Why wouldn't you just let Cody handle it?" he ranted on as he walked forward. Every step he took forward, I stepped back. He was scaring me and my chest tightened as my back hit the lockers. Without breaking eye contact he took one more step forward. We were so close that we were almost touching and since he was so tall, I was looking way up to him.
"I-I didn't know Cody was there and I-I...." I stuttered practically shaking from fear he lifted his arm up so as a reflex I flinched and squeezed my eyes shut as I brought my hands up to my face. After a couple seconds of not feeling anything, I pried opened my eyes and looked up to him. He had his arm propped up against the locker and had a strange look in his eyes.
"I'm not going to hurt you, you know that right?" I looked down to me feet hoping that he would just walk away. He lifted my face up by my chin with his free hand. I looked to my left, trying to avoid eye contact with him.
"Look at me." he more demanded than asked. I slowly looked over into his steely blue eyes. They looked like they were swirling and I noticed they had gotten a little lighter from when he was angry. His eyebrows were just slightly scrunched together and he looked like he was thinking. He pulled away much to my disappointment- wait what? I don't like him at all, I really didn't like him. I thought he was going to leave but he grabbed my arm and started pulling me down the hallway. "Come on" he said as he pulled me towards the side of the school.
"What? Where are we going?" I asked as I half walked, half jogged because of his long legs behind him.
"Somewhere" he answered bluntly.
"I'm not going anywhere with you." I said digging my heals into the ground and pulling on my arm. He sighed and turned around.
"Come on" he said again, pulling on my arm.
"No." I said crossing my arms and glaring at him.
He let out a deep chuckle and said "Although you look cute when you're angry, it doesn't suit you kitten." I looked down so my hair would cover my face as I blushed. Hard.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked but before he answered he scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder. I let out a squeal and he just laughed.
I grabbed on to his shirt as I started yelling "Put me down! I'm going to fall and I'm going to break your back!" I let out another squeal and wrapped my arms around his stomach as he pretended to drop me.
"I'm not going to drop you and you're not going to break my back, because one, you barely weigh anything and two, do you see these muscles?" he said as he lifted his arm and flexed it while flexed his back at the same time. I could feel his muscles under me as he walked and since my hands were wrapped around his stomach, I could feel his solid abs too. I just sighed and held on tighter as he pushed open a door and the outside air swooshed against my skin. We walked through the parking lot and he stopped and swung me back on my feet.
I got really light headed as all the blood rushed from my head and I stumbled a bit. He caught me as I blinked a few times and regained my vision. I looked up and glared at him and he just smirked at me. I looked over to where we stopped and my eyes went wide.
"Woah...nice." I said in amazement.
"Yeah, she's my baby. She's a-"
I cut him off "Kawasaki Ninja ZX14R" I said with him. His eyes widened as he looked at me
"I've always wanted to ride one of these things. Its like my dream bike." I said still looking at it.
"Wow, I didn't peg you as the kind of girl to like bikes." it was my turn to smirk now.
"I've always liked them, I used to have this friend who was into sport bikes and taught me a lot. Never actually owned one though." He swung his leg over the bike and waved me over to put his second helmet on me. He slipped it on and buckled it.
"Have you eaten yet?" he asked. I nodded even though I had only eaten a granola bar and swung my leg over the bike and sat on the seat. I've wanted to ride one of these forever, I've always liked the idea of going fast so this was the perfect bike for that. Its top speed is 186 mph and can go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. Pure power baby.
I loosely draped my arms around his stomach avoiding touching him as much as possible but he grabbed my hands and pulled them tighter. I blushed and he just let out a deep chuckle. I could feel his back vibrate as he laughed and I let out a little laugh too. He started the bike and I could feel it roar to life beneath me. He pulled out of the school parking lot and went the speed limit until he pulled off onto a private property road. Right as he hit the smooth pavement, the bike zoomed forward making me let out a little squeal with a laugh and hold on a little tighter. Everything passed in a flash around us and I could feel the wind whipping around us. He effortlessly glided along the road as if he knew it by heart, which he probably did.
After a couple minutes, he slowed down and we pulled up behind a warehouse that I had never seen before. He shut off the bike and helped me off before he got off himself. We both pulled off our helmets at the same time and he smirked at me.
"Did you like it?" he asked while I smiled ear to ear and nodded. His smirk turned into a smile, like an actual smile. I don't think I've ever seen him to anything but smirk or glare. His smile could light up an entire room.
He nodded his head at the warehouse and said "Lets go" after we put the helmets on the bike. My smile dropped as I remembered that I had no idea where I was other than a creepy warehouse.
"Is this the part where you kill me?" I asked looking at him waiting for a response.
"Yep." he responded with the most serious look on his face that I have ever seen.
