Billy continues to hug me while I calm down, I feel bad because I'm getting tears all over his sweater but I can't let go of him.

I hear the principal on the loud speaker

"All students report to the gymnasium, immediately"

I release Billy but then grab his hand, I feel like I'll float away if I let go.

We start walking to the gym, there's crowds of students, majority in shock.

I can hear all the gossip,

"It was probably y/n, they're the only one with motive" Some guy says, chuckling like a dick, a bunch of other quietly agree and I feel the eyes on me

Billy stops walking and turns to face everyone

"Shut the fuck up, y/n had nothing to do with this!!" He screams at them, his voice is raspier than usual and he is clearly upset

I start to silently sob once again, this is gonna be a shit show for me.

As we're making our way into the gym we notice lots of deputies, including Sheriff Burke.

Me and Billy sit alone near the back of the gym, I lean into him trying not to cry, I feel his arm wrap around me and I try to focus on only him

The Sheriff starts to speak and everyone shuts up "Almost all of us have dealt with the loss of a loved one this year, this killer has proven to be ruthless and clearly doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon" there was a pause and everyone remained silent

"This is why we have decided to shut down schools until this killer is caught, you will be sent home with 2 weeks worth of work for all of your classes. We will still follow curfew but we are locking down, no going out unless it is essential. You will still be aloud to hangout with friends, partners or family, as-long as you are in a home with the doors locked. If anyone has any information about this person please call, we will not stop until this murderer is in prison." The sheriff sounds horrible,

What do I do?

I have information about the killer, I've seen him tons of times, I've talked to him, I know he's a he, I want to tell the police, but I can't.

The entire gym is still silent, besides the sobs of a few.

Everyone is just sitting here, in shock, what else are we supposed to do.

"You may now head out, single file." The sheriff says

We all get up and walk out of the school single file

As me and Billy are walking out we hear a few whispers, they're hard to decipher but I didn't hear my name, so I don't care.

We pick up our work packets at the front doors, as we're walking to my car there's a few boys leaning on it.

"Oh look who it is. The killer couple" One of them says, the others just stand there trying to look intimidating

Finally building up the courage, I ask "What do you want?"

"We want out friends back, you know, the ones you murdered" His voice breaks a little

I know they're upset, and they're rightfully mad

"Just fuck off. We didn't kill your stupid friends. You can do what you please, but hurting us, will only show the cops how angry you are, they may even believe you're pissed enough to murder." Billy knows how to make people do what he wants

The group of boys scoff

"You aren't worth our energy, let's go" I'm assuming this one is the leader considering he's giving the orders, they push past us and I just stand there

Me and Billy finally make it to my car and we drive to my house in silence, I can feel the tension but I don't know what to say.

Once we arrive I turn the car off and just sit there, I don't want to move, or speak

"It's not your fault, you can't blame yourself" Billy sounds sympathetic, but he doesn't understand

"You don't get it" I say as I get out and walk into my house, Billy follows behind but doesn't say anything.

What is there to say, I can't tell him the truth.
