I looked up to see an annoyed Ethan looking down at me. I was sure he was still upset with me for having my probation ended early. It probably didn't help that I went out as soon as it was lifted either.

"Going to see father." I said as I stood up and dusted myself off. Only now that I was up I noticed a hand extended to help me. I flinched as he pulled back his hand, and stalked off without responding to me.

'Well...' I was left confused at what had just happened before I came back to reality from someone closing my mouth. I turn to see Seth smirking at me while holding my mouth closed.

"You look like an idiot with your jaw hitting the ground like that." I awkwardly smiled at him before rushing away in embarrassment, but before I could get far I trip over air and start falling face first. I close my eyes and brace myself for the pain I know is coming but when I don't feel it I slowly open one eye to see myself being caught by Seth.

"I didn't think it was possible for a person to be so clumsy." Seth chuckled while helping me stand up right.

"I'm not clumsy..." I said while my face heated up. I'm sure with Alina's pale skin, I looked like a ripe tomato.

"Oh, your not?" He said with mockery dripping from his voice.

"J-just... Accident prone?" I was left absolutely mortified from his teasing.

"Riiiight~, well it seems I have to help you to fathers office so you don't damage anything on your way." It made me redden further from him acting as if I was purposefully attacking the floor, if anything the floor doesn't like me.

(A/N: Same 。゜(`Д')゜。 Gravity just likes to pick fights with me.(ง'̀-'́)ง)

"Okay..." I whispered with my head down in shame.

We walked side by side in silence until we reached the large doors to the office.

"Thank you." I said with a small smile, trying to forget my embarrassment.

"Whatever, I didn't do it for you." He said roughly while rolling his eyes before walking away. I held back a chuckle at his childish behavior.

I turned towards the office once he disappeared from my sight. I took a deep breath, before knocking on the door.

"Enter." A deep voice resounded from behind the doors.

"Father." I bowed while greeting him.

"Sit." He said without looking up from his papers. I sat in a chair opposite from him and looked at him while waiting for him to finish what he was doing.

The young girl had now become a young woman, and the young woman was going to see the man her mother longed for til her dying day.

However, the young woman was going to see the father that abandoned her and her mother, not as a daughter but as an employee.

The young woman nervously wiped her sweaty palms on her skirt, before walking into the elevator that would bring her face to face with her father.

The young woman couldn't help the little hope that had sparked to life within her. She couldn't stop the thoughts running through her.

'Would he recognize me? If he does, will he accept me?"

The elevator soon stopped and opened to reveal a man sitting in his desk, intently reviewing paperwork. "Sit." he ordered without looking up.

The young woman composed herself quickly before calmly sitting down. The young woman looked calm on the outside, but if you looked closely one could see the sorrow mixed with hope swirling within her eyes.

The middle aged man slowly looked up and looked the young woman up and down, before setting the papers down and leaning back in his chair.

"There were some complications with the numbers, with the draw up for the clients resulting in a huge loss." The man said indifferently. The young woman's composure was not fazed as she quietly listened to what the man had to say.

"Yes sir. Although out department deals with numbers, we do not account for mistakes made in the initial draw up of the project. We simply plug in what we are given, sir." The young woman clearly had a silver tongue, along with wit.

"But you see it wasn't the fault of the initial draw up. It was your fault." The young woman didn't need to hear it again to understand he was saying she should take the blame for their mistake so they don't have to face legal implications.

Her eyes darkened, showing she knew what he was implying. Seeing this the man continued, "Since you are so young and prone to make mistakes with your inexperience, we will only demote you. However, you will no longer be able to climb back up again." The young woman knew he was slaughtering her carrier. No one else would hire her if she quit, so she is forced to take this while lying down.

"I understand." The young woman stood up and walked out with a blank face, the sparks of hope no where to be found.

I shook my head, to get rid of the bitter memories flooding my mind. I looked up to see the duke looking at me intently, as if to see what I was thinking. I smiled at him to prevent an awkward tension from filling the room.

"What have you come to see me for." I was surprised at how soft his tone was, I almost believed it was my imagination.

"Well father... I finished buying a building for an orphanage, and I will furnish it soon. Although I would like to, I can't go all around the city to get orphans. I was wondering if you could get some of your knights to dress like commoners and collect orphans to bring them to me after the orphanage is complete." I looked at him with pleading eyes, while he tapped his finger on his desk pondering my request.

"Yes, just let me know when the orphanage is complete." It didn't take long for him to answer me.

"Thank you father!" I said with stars in my eyes, before rushing out the office to change into more comfortable clothes.
