In a dimly lit room, the grand duke sat at his desk listening to the report of Maverick.

"The young miss called for a doctor and sent the maid out, soon after the doctor had a worried expression and hurried to make medicine."

The Grand Duke narrowed his eyes.

"And why has he not reported to me?"

"I do not know, my lord. He has been loyal to us for a long time, the only thing I can think of is if the young Miss has ordered him to not report or to delay his report."

"Bring him to me now."

Maverick quickly left to bring Dr. Richard to the Grand Duke.

Dr. Richard was reading and researching all he could about Frigor Rubens.

Frigor Rubens was a disease that was mysterious with no cure. It was a very painful disease, many people as they advanced into the disease killed themselves unable to bear the pain. The pain was like being frozen from the inside out.

The disease was named for its peculiar symptoms, the temperature of the persons body would drop drastically as the disease progressed. As it progressed the person would cough up blood, but towards the end they would painfully throw up blood.

There were many theories about the disease and its cause. Dr. Richard was desperately looking thought the records while mixing medicine when he heard a knock at the door.

"Come in."

Maverick walked in, but once he saw the books Richard was looking at his face quickly distorted, completely different from his usual poker face.

"The lord is calling for you."

Richard could guess it was about Alina, but he could not disobey the lord's command. They quickly arrived and entered into the grand dukes office.

"Richard, Why have you not reported to me about the condition of my child?"

The grand duke didn't waste time and quickly asked Dr. Richard.

"The young Miss asked me to not report to you until tomorrow. She wanted to join me when I reported saying she had a pressing matter to discuss with you, my lord."

The grand dukes face distorted, but it quickly went back to normal.

"I will wait but for her, but I would like to know if my daughter is sick."

Dr. Richard hesitated for a second before answering.

"She is sick, but I must apologize my lord, but I promised to keep the nature of her sickness a secret until she comes to personally inform you."

"Very well. You can get back to your duties."

The duke dismissed him, but as soon as he left the grand duke turned to the gloomy Maverick.

"What do you have left to report?"

"When I went to bring Dr. Richard I saw him looking desperately through a bunch of reports while mixing the medicine for the young miss."

"What were the reports about?"

The grand duke could see where he was going and asked after he finished his sentence.

"They were all reports on Frigor Rubens, my lord."

As soon as the Grand Duke heard that, his face distorted horribly.

'I really need to know my way around the mansion, I don't want people questioning me.'

I needed to familiarize myself with the mansion, otherwise people will think I have lost my mind. I decided to walk around at night as to not run into the other family.

"Chrysta I do not with to have dinner, I wish to sleep early. You may turn in early after helping me get ready for the night."

I had to get rid of Chrysta as to walk around the mansion. I had no appetite anyways, I used that to my advantage to hurry and wait for the mansion to die down.

"But miss you have had nothing to eat all day. It is not good for your health, please reconsider."

Chrysta seemed to warm up to me a little, because of that she managed to muster the courage to try and persuade me. She looked firm as though she wouldn't back down, but she was still shaking.

"Sigh- Very well, bring me a light meal."

I finally gave in with a sigh, I had nothing better to do while waiting for night to come and I needed stamina for walking around the mansion.

Chrysta soon brought a light meal, and I quickly finished it to prepare for going to bed so I could dismiss her to go to her quarters. She left quickly as I dismissed her for the night, and I began to wait the night to progress further before going to explore.
