《LA MIA MELODIA》CHAPTER 2

Im in the back, putting away my apron, ready to go home.
"Aria, darling! Can you come in here dolcezza" i hear aunty Tania call and i furrow my eyebrows walking to her little office.
"Yes?" I ask as i walk in to the room, she's writing in a notebook.
"You know the De'Marco's honey?" she asks looking up at me now. I frown. Oh!
"Uh, the ones you used to work for?" I ask making her nod.
"Sì, they are having a birthday party for Angelo at some club and they want some themed cupcakes and other stuff or something like that, so, my would be daughter, Alaia?" she pauses, maybe for me to confirm if I remember her. I nod, i do, she's the one Aunty took care off when her mother passed but then she got married so aunty decided to open a bakery, her life long dream.
"She wants to talk to my best baker and explain the kind of thing she wants, i dont know alot about this stuff so i just told her you'll call her, ok?" she asks, handing me a piece of paper with a number on it. I nod.
"But I havent done this sort of thing before its like, catering" i say nervously. Yes i bake well but i just pretend im doing it for fun so it turns out ok. I know that under pressure ill mess it up. Its hard to explain.
"Oh darling, you'll be wonderful, i know you will, if you need help you can ask Mario, he'll be happy to, or me even. And you can have off from the normal everyday baking" she smiles warmly and I nod. Im still nervous.
Mario is 23 and tall, and good looking, We arent really friends outside of work, mainly because im very anti social, but he's really nice and tries to make me feel as comfortable and welcome as possible.

I say my goodbyes to aunty Tania and make my way home. As I walk home a sudden craving of Chinese food hits me. Maybe ill order in chinese.
~
I walk into my apartment and lock the door. Making my way to my room I drop on the bed, lazing for a little. After about 10 minutes, i get up and change into an oversized shirt and some shorts then order my food.
I walk to the living room and turn on netflix. Lucifer time.
My apartment is small, but still pretty nice, atleast i think so. With my reference to my job at the bakery, the owner leased it to me with no problem, which i found strange since its a small business, but anyway. The rent is actually pretty cheap for the place, but dont tell the owner that.
I have a good sized living room, a kitchen thats joined and one bedroom, mine. There is also a laundry room and a very beautiful terrace. I love windows and terraces. I love pinterest and my balcony in the day time looks like something staright out of pinterest i love it.
As im watching the show, i remember i have to give mrs. De'Marco a call. I get up and grab my phone from my room as well as the piece of paper. Here goes.
I dial the number and it rings a few times before someone picks up.
"Who is this" i hear a rough, strong, masculine voice that sends shivers down my spine, ask and i furrow my eyebrows.
"Uhm, Mrs. Lombardi gave me this number, i work at the bakery?" i say in a small voice, almost squeaky.
"Nick give me my phone, i know who it is, its zia's employee, now give" i hear a womans voice in the background and i hear the man grumble.

"It was unknown" he says gruffly than i hear shuffling.
"Hi, im sorry about that, you must be Aria" i hear a sweet voice and it eases me.
"Uh, yes, Aria Stone, and its okay Mrs. De'Marco" i say politely. She used to live in New York thats why her english is better than most people here.
"Call me Alaia please, im only 19, not 40" she says and i hear cooing. A baby?
"Ok, Alaia, sorry" i say sheepishly. Its surprisingly easy to talk to her. "So about the desserts for your party.." i trail off so she can continue.
"Oh yes, we're having the party in a week, i want to go over some things, can you come to the estate, maybe tomorrow?" she asks me. Oh. Her home? Shit.
"Y-yeah sure, i can" i say and i hear her sigh.
"Thankyou so much, i find it very hard to explain anything over the phone." she says and i nod. "When do you get done at the bakery? I can send a car to get you" she asks me.
"Oh no its okay, ill manage" i say.
"No no, ill be sending a car, when do you finish?" she asks again.
"Four" i tell her.
"Okay then Aria, a car will bring you to the estate at 4 tomorrow, it was lovely talking to you" she says sweetly. I smile unknowingly.
"You too" i say and the line drops. She's nice.
