Part 19

Angel's Pov

I was standing outside my mom's room and wishing that when I entered she would welcome me with a tight hug. 

Mother is a lifeline for any person. She always understands what we need, what we want and what can make us happy, sad, excited and when we need a hug. She knows everything. 

Some people are extremely lucky to have a mother with them but some are very unlucky that they cannot talk or see their mother anymore, but some are neither lucky or unlucky, they can see their mother but cannot talk to her, they have a mother but she cannot be with them in need. 

I really don't know what we call that fate. 

I smiled sadly and entered the room, once again the silence welcomed me. 

"Good morning mom, Happy mother's Day". I said and put the white roses into her side. She always loved white roses and so do I.

"And I'm not here because it's mother's Day... For me everyday is Mother's Day. But I'm here because... It's your birthday" I smiled sadly and kissed her forehead. "Happy birthday mommy" 

I bought her the latest Romantic Novel from the nearby Library. She loves to read them, So I have always read books for her for the past few years. 

I started reading for her until I was in the 3rd chapter, my mind wandered off to Blaize, what he might be doing? Work or he's is with Lacey? My eyes flooded with tears remembering how he kissed her right In Front of me. 

"Mom, you know I found that girl for whom he left me, he..he likes her so much mom, they.. they ki-ki-kissed yesterday In front of me. I don't want to work there mom, it's getting very difficult for me. He doesn't look at me without any hate, I was very jealous when I saw them together. I can't take this pain anymore." I want to say so much but don't know how to say it. So I just cried laying my head near her heart. 

I felt her breathing fast and unsteady, looking up at her I found her fighting to breathe. The monitor beside her started beeping fast too. 

"Mom, what's happening?" I quickly pushed the button multiple times so the doctor could come very fast and he arrived with the nurse in a minute. 

"Doctor, please help her" I cried to the doctor who frantically checked the machines then looked at mom. 

The nurse pulled me outside, I told her that I want to stay but she just pulled me out and locked the door. 

"Mom, please don't give up" I whispered looking from the glass on the door. 

I wiped my tears and waited for doctors to come out then took a seat. 

Just then a little boy sat beside me with a girl who looked around my age. She smiled at me and asked "Hey, uhm can you look after my son for just 2 minutes, I just need to find the doctor" I nodded at her and she quickly walked off not before kissing her son's head. 

"Henloo" the little boy said waving his little hand. I smiled at him, I couldn't trust my voice, because I know I might cry any moment.

My phone started ringing, it was Blaize so I just ignored it. I'm feeling really anxious about mom and didn't want to hear his yelling.

"I'm Chase," The little boy said. 

"I'm Angel, and you have a beautiful name" 

His eyes sparkled at my sentence, "Angel, I love Angel " he said with a wink making me smile.

Besides being little he is very smart to talk to because I think he is just 3 years old. 

 "You hurt too?" He asked innocently and showed his bandaged ankle which turned from white to red. 

"My mom is in there," I pointed at the room to which He made an O face. He is really cute with green eyes and chestnut hair. 

He looked really familiar but in mom's worry, I brushed that thought away. "And my mom says if you imagine about food then you can forget any kind of pain" 

"Like magic?" He asked with wide eyes. "Yes just like that" I smiled too. 

My phone started ringing again and it was from Adrian, I picked it up because he never yells at me. 

"Hello? Angel? Where are you?" He asked and I heard the muffled sound behind him. 

I was about to answer when Chase yelled at the top of his lungs when he saw his mom. "Mommy I am hungry" the girl rolled her eyes looking at him. But something else caught my attention. 

I cut the call and stood up, I didn't get what that girl said and left because my eyes were fixed on two forms coming in my direction. 

"Angel? What are you doing here?" Benny asked, holding my hands, concern laced her face. 

Chris had his arms wrapped around her waist. He also looked puzzled at me. 

Just by looking at their worried expression the traitorous tears escaped my eyes and soon I turned into sobbing mess. 

"Oh my god Angel, tell me what happened?" She said, pulling me into the hug. 

"Mom.. mom... She .. not Okey" I sputtered while sobbing. 

Just then the doctor came out and I ran quickly to his side. "Mom?" 

He looked really sad which made me really scared. "Angel you mother's heart is going very weak, she had a very serious heart attack, if she has two more attack like this then we wouldn't be able to save her" 

"But there must be some solution for it, isn't it?" I asked, crossing my fingers. My heart was thumping really hard. 

"There is a heart transplant. That is the only solution" I gained a relief to hear that. 

"Okay then do that, but please just save her," I said desperately .

The doctor shook his head "it doesn't work like that Angel, the cost of it will be 2.5 million dollars, plus it's not easy to find someone who will donate their heart, there was a women who died today by cancer and her heart is completely fine for your mother, but that women signed some legal documents that the receiver of heart will give 20 million dollar for her husband and daughter" His words shook me to the core. 

"22.5 million dollars" I whispered to which he nodded. 

"The operation should need to be done in a week, so just decide. We will try to find more donar too. Just take your time and let your mother rest for some time" he said and left. 

I was in a daze, how will I arrange this much money? I have $50,000 in my account as savings, I know Kate can help too, but this amount is so big. 

Benny's voice took me out of my miserable thoughts. "Angel, don't worry we will help you. I promise nothing will happen to her"

I looked at her surprised, "you will?" She nodded

 "Yes you can talk to dad, I know he will help, just come with me" she said and took me out to her car, Chris followed behind with a sad expression.

Next I was standing in Christian's office waiting for him to say something, Benny already told him everything. 

"Chris and Benny, can you wait outside, I want to speak to Angel alone" he said and both Chris & Benny went out of the office. 

"Sit down" I did as he said. 

"Listen Angel, of course I can help you and I will but there is one problem" I made a confused look at him to which he continued.

"We already have many charitable organization so I can't give you money on the name of charity because you are outsider, plus you don't even work here so that option is also off, I need to answer the BOD that on what basis I gave that much amount to you " 

"I .. I don't understand what you are trying to say" I said looking down, maybe he doesn't want to help.

"What I'm saying is that there is only one way I can help you" he sighed then said the words which made me look at him in horror.

"Family, I can give you that amount if you become the part of my family, and that can happen if you marry my son" 

I looked at him with my eyes wide as saucer "B-Bl-Blaize? But it's wrong " I said hesitantly, is he taking advantage of my situation?

"No it isn't, I genuinely want to help you Angel, but that's the only way, and no one can be more perfect then you to be his wife." He said and sighed. 

"Just think about your mother angel, she need your help, and this little sacrifice can save her life" 

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I know he can give me the amount but then why is he making excuses for marriage? 

"I.. I . Need time" I said and stood up. I just wanted to leave from here, I will ask the bank for a loan. He nodded and looked sad. 

My phone rang again, it was a doctor so I picked up quickly. "Angel, I'm sorry but the heart surgery needed to be done in 2 days, she has another attack" I gasped at his words. 

"What? Is she okay ? Wait I'll come right now" 

"No, we have everything under control, now she is fine but we need to hurry" he said and cut the call. 

Oh god, now I was desperate to save her, I can do anything to save her, anything. I looked at Christian.

"Okay, I'll marry him, but I need the amount now, she needs to be operated on as soon as possible. I promise I'll do anything you say. " He smiled looking at me and took out the blank paper and pen. 

"Just sign them, I'll make the contract" I did as he said.

He took out the blank cheque then signed and gave it to me "just fill the amount and you can have it. Remember angel you can not back out now at any cost because if you do you'll be liable to pay double of it and then you can't earn for your mother" he said with a smile brighter than Christmas. 

Wow, nice way to threaten. 

I nodded hesitantly and walked out with the cheque, Benny tried to call me but I just used the lift to down and walked out on a cold night. 

I can't believe I am going to marry Blaize, but will he say yes? I know he will never agree to marry me. 

But marriage or not, I'll try my best to return the amount to Williams later in the future. 

I know what I did was wrong, but I was desperate to save mom, I'm so desperate to feel her loving talks again. I'm desperate for her calming hugs again. 

I'm desperate to say sorry for my stubbornness to leave Paris, if only I wouldn't have ushered her to come to New York, mom could have been fine. 

It was all my mistake.

I'm sorry mom.

And I'm sorry Blaize, I know you'll be so angry at me and definitely hate me for life time, but I did this for mom.
