Sheila

Zaivinth was probably looking for me and I'm sure to be found sometime soon. I put my hands into my wool sweater pockets. I went over to the wooden dock, walking out over the lake.

The moon wasn't full but it was waxing to fullness. I sat at the edge of the dock, swinging my legs over the side of it. I watched as bugs bounced off the water.

Then I heard a song start to play. It was a voice, a beautiful woman's voice singing such a sad tune. I sat up straight, I looked around but I saw no one in sight.

Who could it be? I looked down the lake, trying to see if there was a figure on the other side. There wasn't.

I felt something wet touch my leg. I gasped and tried to lift my foot, but something held it tight. I looked down to see a woman with gills on the side of her face, musty green hair with bright red eyes looking back at me.

She smiled, her teeth pointy, made for gnawing. "You."

The she pulled me into the water.

Zaivinth

I've been searching for her for hours. Every minute that we were talking this out, the angrier I got.

I couldn't even track her scent. It's like she disappeared completely. I was worried at first, then I just got mad.

I roared as I flew over the trees in my kingdom. Does she really not want to be found so much so, that she had to mask her scent.

Grey flames erupted from my mouth. Sending it high into the sky as I turned around.

I touched down at my castle, turning back to my human form. "Your highness," someone held out a towel. I took it and wiped my face and neck. I handed it back to the maid.

"Call the Chancellor and tell him to bring the maps." I growled walking up the black sprial steps to the main working floor. This is where all of our offices were, as well as the war table. Which is surprisingly where we discuss war tactics. Only the general, chancellor, and the direct royal family of the dragon kingdom was allowed to enter.

"Tell him I'm in here." I said to no maid in particular and pushed open the door, and sat on the throne.

Days earlier I had assigned Sheila to be my war general. The chair that was my to my right. Just in case something ever happened to me and she would be the next in line. Then our children. She needed to know wat tactics and with the help of Xion, Selven, and myself who are all war hero's, she will learn from the best.

The door swung open. There was sweat on Selven's brow. Scrolls were a mess in his hands, "you called me your highness?" He bowed his head closing the door behind him. The room was dark, only the lights from the candles illuminated it.

Selven displayed scrolls out in front of me. He spread all of them out and tacked them down. "Shouldn't we wait till Queen Sheila arrives."

"She's not coming." I crossed my legs over one another. I think that royally ticked was an understatement at this point. She knew how to get under my skin so quickly.

"I don't think this is best idea." Selven slumped down in his chair. "Sheila will not be happy with this—"

"I don't care."

Lie.

Lie.

Lie.

"This is what Kolgrim, our enemy wants." He displayed a hand to the table. The maps with little red X's where the terrorist attacks had taken place. They are slowly making their way to our kingdom. Though we were on the edge of the continent, he would have to go through everyone to get to us by land.

My ancestors did this on purpose. We were the superior, kings of all territories. We placed ourselves in the most unlivable areas, knowing that we would survive with little hassle and that nobody would make it out alive while attacking us.

We knew this territory in so much detail, if a rock was out of place or tampered with, we would know. Guarded by volcanos to the East, and mountains surrounding us. Water to the south. Thick forests to the north.

"I'm leaving tonight to head the the Fae's kingdom."

There was a startled movement. "No, no you can't!" Selves stood up. The audacity to stand up against a King. I saw the room fill up with grey smoke. The smoke that was being emitted from my body. "Sheila should know before you act. She is the War General!"

"Don't talk to me like that." I snapped at him. This made him reel backwards. His actions had me do a double take, did I just yell at one of my only friends. I grabbed my hair as I ran a hand through it. I let out a groan of frustration and took off walking to the door.

"I'm leaving now." I huffed throwing the door open. I looked back to see my friend, a hand still on the maps, another on his heart, shaking like a leaf.

Seems that fear of his still runs deep.

I slammed the door behind me.

Sheila

When I woke up, I was looking up at a beautiful ceiling. I sat up to see that I was sleeping on a red and black marble floor. I looked around in front of me and I noticed that it was a throne room.

"Let her go!" Someone so, so, familiar yelled with the sounds of echoing chain rattles in the room.

I turned around to see my mate all tied up with black chains. He was in his human form and everywhere on his body had a chain wrapped around it. His neck, hands, arms, legs, ankles, torso, everywhere. I started stumbling towards him.

"Vinc—"

There was another familiar horrible, evil, laugh. I stopped in my tracks and looked towards where the laugh was coming from. "My kitten?" Kolgrim, Kolgrim had a chain in his hands. I dreaded following that chain to where it was connected to my throat.

I looked at myself, I was nothing that I had ever seen in me. My eyes were still red, though saliva was dripping from my mouth, scars that left patches of my skin bare of fur. Scars I had never seen before. I raised a hand to my mouth. What had they done to me.

I was a monster.

"Why would I want to give you my kitten back," he gripped the side of my face brining it towards him. I rubbed my face against his, acting like, like I loved him.

Bile started to hike up my throat.

"After I spent so long training her to be a good little kitten." He rubbed the back of my ear and I made this look. This look. I was going to throw up.

I looked to my mate. His eyes filled with so much pain and suffering. "Sheila, Sheila." He groaned, fighting against the chains to try and get even an inch closer. "Sheila this isn't you. I am your mate. Not him." He was on the verge of tears.

"If I hadn't left. If I hadn't gone without you. None of this would have happened." I heard him mumble to himself. "Sheila!" He tried to stand against his chains but he fell, his knees cracking against the marble. "Sheila I'm sorry. Please. Remember me please." His plea of helplessness filling ever inch of the room, he raised his arms, fighting against the chains once more.

Kolgrim just laughed, and let go of the chain holding "me". "Kill him, my kitten."

And without a second thought, "I" attacked him. Full speed my claws scraping against the hideous floor.

"No!" I screamed as I watched myself sink my teeth into his skin.

Is that considered cannibalism?
