"I'm not so sure about this Lora." She twists up her lips and lets out a sigh.

"C'mon, you keep telling me to loosen up." I hold out my hand.

I suggested we go roller skating. At first Haletta thought it was a good idea-now that she is here with her roller boots on she has second thoughts.

"No."

"No?"

Haletta struggled to balance herself because of the roller boots she wore. I arched a brow and crossed my arms over my chest as I watched Haletta.

"Need help?" I said.

She looked at me and shook her head. "No."

I found it entertaining that Haletta doesn't know how to walk in roller boots.

It is not difficult.

I learnt how to ice skate when I was five, which led me to having an interest in roller skating. After that I was an expert in skating but sadly I haven't participated in any competitions. My father said it would be dangerous since it involves traveling, international competition.

She sighs and clasps my hand. "Be careful." Haletta warned. I smirked. "Sure."

I yanked her into the rink and she almost lost her balance but I caught her.

"Hey!"

I giggle.

"Ass." She cries out. "Lora..." Haletta warned.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, try walking like a duck." I explained, locking our fingers together as I walked backwards, guiding her across the rink.

I watched her as she began to walk but her legs started to wobble like a noodle dangling in the air.

I threw back my head and let out a loud, humorless laugh.

"Lora!"

When I caught Haletta glaring at me I immediately disguised my laugh with a cough.

"My throat was itchy." I said, smiling. Haletta rolled her eyes.

It was entertaining to tease Haletta.

First, she would turn red like her head is about to explode and second, she looks cute.

"Okay, I'll be serious." I mumbled.

"Walk like a duck-"

"Lora!" She snapped. "Let me finish."

"Walk like a duck. With your heels together and your toes pointed out, begin slowly walking forward, first the right, then to the left, then to the right, and so on." I explained as I showed off my skills to Haletta and she rolled her eyes, watching me skate.

"You got this." I beamed, giving her the thumbs up.

She inhaled. "I got this." Haletta reassured herself.

"Walk like a duck!" I cheered.

Haletta started to take slow steps towards me, each time someone passed by us Haletta would lose her balance and fall on her butt.

I laughed each time she fell. It was hilarious to see her like this, as if someone is teaching a child rocket science.

After a while of her collapsing and complaining she finally got the hang of it.

"I'm doing it!" She squealed. I chuckled. "Yes you are!"

Haletta grips onto my wrists and drags me across the rink. We both apologize then laugh like idiots each time we bump into people.

I let go of Haletta then glided on both my feet, my toes pointing in opposite directions, I lifted my left leg with both my arms stretched out. I start gliding by crossing on one skate over the other and using it to push off in the new direction. turning left, I cross my right skate over my left skate, turning my body toward the left, and pushing off with my right skate in the left direction.

I spun in circles, like a tornado then I stopped with a confident sweep.

"Show off." Haletta uttered.

I smiled, as my chest was rising and falling.

"You could be an expert one day, all you have to do is practice." I told her, and she shook her head. "No, I'm too busy being lazy so I don't have time to learn how to skate."

I roll my eyes.

"C'mon." I said, locking our hands together as we started to skate.

⊰∘⊱

The day went by smoothly, after skating we went shopping and explored Paris a bit.

Dante didn't mind driving us around as long as father knew I was safe he was okay with it.

We got ice-cream and went to the park to end off our day.

"This is nice." I said.

The sun set in the sky as fresh colors. The orange gold stretches far and wide, the color of fire hearths and tangerines.

Haletta and I found two abandoned swings and decided to sit on them as we ate our remaining ice-creams.

"It is." She spoke, her gaze staring ahead.

We exchanged a few words then soaked in silence.

I shivered as the warm breeze tickled my skin.

Shutting my eyes I took a deep breath in and swung back and forth allowing the wind to ruffle my hair.

"Question?" Haletta asked.

I reopened my eyes and turned to face her. "Shoot."

Haletta looks over at me. "Why do you have a bodyguard?" She questions, her gaze shifting to Dante who sat in the car with the windows rolled down.

I gave her a joking smile. "You know my father is very protective over me." I said absently, kicking the rocks in front of me.

"I know..." She trailed off. "But don't you get uncomfortable, I mean this whole bodyguard thing, he's now crossing the line of privacy." She argued.

I laugh to myself: If only she knew.

This is nothing, a year ago I convinced my father that I should only have one bodyguard.

Before Dante my father hired six bodyguards, only for me. Everywhere I went they were there as well.

I got tired of it because I needed my own privacy, I'm not a child anymore. I can take care of myself.

I was about to speak but the sound of my phone buzzing in my pocket stopped me. I reached in my back pocket then pulled out my phone.

I opened my phone and read the text message.

"Who is it?"

"My father."

"I forgot to tell you this but we are coming over for dinner tonight." I told her.

She looked surprised, and I wouldn't blame her.

The drama between Aunt Nadine and my mother is that, Aunt Nadine has a thing for my dad and when my mother found out she cut all connections with her.

Now, that's not the only issue.

She made a move on him, yet knew he was married to her sister and had a child.

This happened two years ago and they still aren't talking.

What I'm about to say might sound weird because I'm his daughter but my father is handsome and sometimes his attractiveness might sabotage my friendships because my ex friends wanted to sleep with my father.

Disgusting.

Of course he doesn't know about it.

The only person who didn't have an interest in my father was Katina.

She doesn't have a thing for old men, her type are younger guys.

Haletta laughed awkwardly. "I guarantee you this dinner will be awkward as fuck."

I laughed.

"Agreed."
