As soon as the guys walked out, Daniel rushed me, "Let's get to our seats!" He led me out of the door and into the stadium. We walked through a wheelchair accessible entry and around the ring to the front of the arena. I looked around to see the crowd filling in rapidly. I took my seat at the end of a the first row while Daniel placed his wheelchair in the space next to me.

The lights were glaring on top of us as music blasted and I could feel my nerves taking control. I turned to Daniel, "Who's Kyle?" I asked curiously.

"Kyle's an old family friend. Lucas and him go way back but he's kind of a fu-" He paused glancing at me, "party boy," he corrected himself. "He comes to all his fights."

I nodded, "What does he do?"

"He's an accountant," Daniel laughed.

The music lowered and the lights switched to multicolored and I could feel my heartbeat quicken. This was it.

"Easily the most anticipated UFC match to begin our middleweight championship, folks," The speaker blared as two commentators sat near us speaking into microphones. "We have Lucas Miller who's compiled a remarkable achievement of thirty seven wins with zero losses. That's zero, people. This is a man that knows how to fight and uses his strengths to his advantage. But his opponent knows something about achievement as well, Mark."

"That's right, Dan. Sydney 'The Beast' Wilson enters the ring at twenty seven wins and one loss. If there's one thing The Beast knows how to use, it's his hands. If he gets you into his grip, you're a goner." Mark commented.

The lights flicked to an entrance on the right and I saw a tall, broad man step out. He had a robe with the hood up on his head and a pair of shorts on as he walked out with his arms raised in the air. He stopped in the middle of the entryway and began to do a little dance. The crowd went wild. He flashed a grin to the crowd as he leaped into the ring, circling it and dancing some more.

"Coming out now is The Beast, Sydney Wilson. He's twenty six years old, weighing one hundred and eighty three pounds and coming in at six-two. He's the definition of calm and collected. He's sure of himself, Mark." Dan commented.

"He sure is, Dan. I hope this confidence carries through in the ring."

The lights flickered to the opposite side of the ring as I caught a glimpse of Lucas emerging. He was accompanied by Miguel who flanked at his right and another large man with a short blonde buzz cut who flanked at his left. I assumed that was Kyle.

"Here comes Lucas Miller. Twenty seven years old, weighing one hundred and eighty pounds and coming in at six-three. He's expressionless, Mark. It's hard to tell what he's thinking, but he's focused that's for sure."

Lucas's eyes remained focused on the ring. His steps didn't falter once as he made it to the cage, his expression remaining impassive. He turned around and clapped hands with Miguel, pulling him in for a one handed hug before doing the same with Kyle. They remained at the side of the ring, closest to Lucas.

Daniel and I whooped and clapped loudly just as Lucas looked over and smiled in our direction. He turned to face Sydney as he rolled his neck from side to side and jumped lightly on his feet, shaking his hands out.

An announcer joined them on the stage with a microphone, "Ladies and gentlemen, this fight is three rounds in the UFC middleweight division. Introducing first, fighting in the blue corner, Lucas Miller!" The crowd cheered loudly and Daniel and I screamed at the top of our lungs and pounded. "And now, introducing his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, Sydney The Beast Miller!"

Daniel and I booed as loudly as we could, cupping our hands to our mouths. A busty blonde haired girl in a black bikini held a sign signifying round one had begun. The referee stood between contestants "Are you ready?" He asked loudly. Lucas nodded, his eyes trained on Sydney while Sydney smirked in Lucas's direction. "Fight!"

Lucas lifted his fists in front of his face and quickly jumped from foot to foot. Sydney wasted no time in throwing a punch towards Lucas, which he jumped back from.

"Would you look at that? The Beast making his first attempt. All I can say is stay away from those arms, Miller. Miller returning a punch, hitting his jaw! Gotta watch Miller's range there, Dan. His arms reach far."

"That's right, Mark. Sydney returning with a kick, Miller defends and returns with another punch to the shoulder! That's gotta hurt. Sydney going for another kick there, Miller catches the leg and goes in for a punch. The beast blocks it and grabs his body! Miller punching Sydney's side. He needs to get out of that position fast. Once the beast gets you in a chokehold, you're done."

I watched in horror as Sydney wrapped his arms around Lucas's neck. He twisted and threw a punch at his ribs. He flipped until he could use his arms to throw Sydney off of him.

"He's got out of the chokehold, Dan! That's not a common feat with The Beast. Miller takes a punch at his jaw and again with the other fist! He does a high leg kick, check out the form."

Daniel cheered loudly, "Punch again, Lucas!"

Sydney reached out with his fist and punched right into Lucas's bandaged arm, blood gushing out instantly. What a coward.

"Now Mark, it's looking like Lucas had a previous injury and The Beast is definitely exploiting that. He goes in for another punch and another! Lucas's arm looks like it's going to need stitches."

"Come on, Lucas!" I shouted at the top of my lungs as Daniel chanted his name.

Lucas flipped and did a high kick, hitting Sydney in the head. He began to punch aggressively, his fists flying faster than my eyes could comprehend.

"The Beast seems to have awoken Miller here, Dan. He's taking control of the fight, punch after punch. Sydney isn't reciprocating. He's a human punching bag at this point. He's going to need to tap out of he it continues like this."

I watched Lucas's face of determination as he punched Sydney until Sydney raised his hand limply to Lucas's back and tapped it. The referee blew his whistle and Lucas jumped away from Sydney, his chest heaving.

"There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. The winner of fight one of ten in proving his success as a middleweight champion of the world, Lucas Miller!"

Miguel and Kyle flew into the cage and embraced Lucas, grinning wildly. Lucas clapped his good arm against their backs and his eyes flitted to the crowd as he made eye contact with Daniel and I, both of us still screaming in excitement. He grinned at us, the expression dazzling me even from across the cage.

The announcer raised his arm as a declaration of his win and Lucas reached over to shake hands with Sydney. He began to step out of the ring.

I turned to Daniel who was grinning more widely than I'd ever seen him. "Come on," he said, "We need to meet the guys at the lockers."

I nodded and stood up, leaving the arena with Daniel. We walked out giddily as we made our way back to the lockers. Daniel burst in proudly and I trailed after him. Lucas sat on the bench with a towel around him as Miguel and Kyle chattered around him. They looked up as we entered the room.

"You did it!" Daniel cheered as he wheeled closer to Lucas and fist bumped him.

"You thought I couldn't?" Lucas teased.

"I knew you could!" Daniel exclaimed.

"Hey, little man." Kyle grinned, ruffling Daniel's hair.

"Hey Kyle! I've missed you!" Daniel said gleefully. It was so nice to see him this happy with people around him.

"Who's this?" Kyle asked stepping away from Daniel and towards me next to the door.

I gave him a small smile, "Emily." I introduced.

He stuck his hand out to me and I began to shake it before he brought it up to his lips and kissed the top the hand, "So nice to meet you."

Lucas stood up and slapped his towel on the back of Kyle's head, "She's Daniel's caretaker, idiot."

Kyle smiled at me, "They are so lucky to have you." I tugged my hand out of his.

Lucas cleared his throat, "Do you mind stitching my arm, Emily?"

I glanced at him and nodded, walking towards him where a first aid box sat. I pulled out some thread and a needle and some rubbing alcohol before slipping on a pair of latex gloves.

"Well, that's my cue," Daniel said in disgust as he left the room.

Miguel followed him out, "I'll stay with him." He said and Lucas nodded gratefully.

Kyle stood there awkwardly until he followed the other two, "Guess I know where I'm not wanted."

I put the rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and began to dab the area, grimacing at the state of the slash in his arm. I glanced at Lucas to see if it was hurting him to see him gazing at me. I looked away quickly and reached for the medical thread and sterilized needle.

"It was a uh-really good fight." I stated softly as I threaded the needle.

He nodded gently, "Thanks." I could feel his piercing blue eyes on me.

"This is going to hurt," I warned as I began to stitch the wound. He didn't make a move so I continued, "Don't they have doctors that check up on your wounds after fights?"

"They do. I just didn't want one." He explained.

I raised an eyebrow questioningly, "You were going to go home with this?"

"I was going to ask you," He stated nonchalantly.

I smiled at him, "I thought I irritated you."

A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, "I find your presence calming."

I snorted lightly, "You're the only person in the world who would say that about me."

Daniel burst in through the door just as I finished with the stitches and bandaged the area up. "Lucas the press wants to talk to me but Miguel said I had to ask you first. I'm assuming you're not going to deny your disabled brother a chance at fame?"
