I turned to look at my father only to see that he was on the floor. The guy shot my father while he was still in the car and sped off. I looked at the license plate of the car and remembering it for the police later on.

I got out of the car and went to him "Oh god oh god oh god!". He was shot on his leg and it was bleeding.

"Dad! Are you okay? MOM CALL THE AMBULANCE AND POLICE!" I applied pressure on his wound as he groaned in pain.

The ambulance arrived a few minutes later and took my dad to the hospital. My mum went on the ambulance and told me to drive the car and meet her there.

I had blood all over my hands and my heart was beating fast.

"Could it be James? Could it be him? Was he the one who shot my dad after the incident in the diner?" I thought and a tear slipped down my cheek.

I arrived at the hospital and looked for my mum. She was talking to the police while crying. I went up to her and hold her. I informed the police officers the license plate number that I remembered and the description of the car.

The police got all the information needed to catch the guy. My father must go through surgery to get the bullet out and will be warded for a few days or maybe weeks.

I drove back home with my mum and put her to bed. She must be tired after the incident.

I sat on my bed and called Holly to come over. I hear a knock on my door and went to the peep hole to check who it was since it was only my mum and I at home. Holly came by within minutes after texting her.

I told her what happened, and she said she needed to step outside for a while because she forgot something in her car. I looked out the window and saw her on her phone talking to someone and she didn't even go to her car.

When she came back, I pretended that I was sitting on my bed watching the TV and asked her "What did you forget?"

Her face looks like a deer caught in the headlight "Oh! My phone. I left it in the car" she response.

She has been acting weird lately and I can't figure out why.

"What has been going on with you lately? You seem odd" I asked wanting her to tell me the truth.

"I wish I could tell you, but I can't. One day you will know. Just trust me," She just looks at me and smiled.

"I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything," I hold her hand.

Holly sighed and looked at me "I like Keith and I don't know if he likes me back. If he is even having the slightest interest in me."

"That's why you have been acting strange? My God! I thought you killed someone or something!" I said in relieve.

She laughed so loudly "Are you crazy?!"

"Okay how about I'll become your wing-man and try setting you up with Keith?" I wink.

"You are my guardian angel," Holly sequels.
