《The Mafia Leader's Bambino》Chapter 20

I stand in front of Hediye and she starts rubbing her eyes.
"Who's baby did you take?" Nico asks as he observes her
"Remember 3 months ago you heard me tell Charlie to tell 'our Star' I said I love her?" I ask as I pick her up
I walk towards the stairs and walk up them with Nico following behind me.
"Yes, you said you couldn't tell me who she was." Nico responds as we go into the guest room.
I go lay Hediye on the bed and go through the clothes I asked Nico to buy.
I pull out a big tee and go back towards her sleeping figure.
I take off her shoes and strip her out of her clothes.
I pull her up and put the shirt on her carefully.
I then pull the comforter over her and pull Nico towards the door cracking the door as we leave the room.
I walk into our room and head straight for the closet and change out of my shoes and clothes.
I take my jewelry off and walk towards the bathroom to leave them there.
I wrap my hair up and put a scarf on my head.
I walk back into the closet and grab one of Nico's shirts.
I sit on the bed across from him since he's sitting agaisnt the headboard.
I cross my legs criss cross and bite my lip nervously.
"I couldn't tell you and you weren't suppose to know but now its different." I say as I feel tears well up
"Why weren't you allowed to tell me? And what makes it different now?" Nico asks as he looks at me angrily
"Hediye is Charlie's daughter he only told me and my mother of her, he's dead now but still only I know of her." I explain as I wipe my face

Nico's eyes visibly softens and he pulls me in for a quick hug.
"So, Charlie just died how did you get the child?" Nico asks when I sit back down
"Heh-di-ye is her name, an agent brought her and right after she left she got her memory wiped." I explain
"So Charlie knew he was gonna die and made sure you got Hediye?" Nico asks curiously
"Yes, he knew the agent said he had been planning for months, he got me to sign her birth certificate and then the agent gave me papers for her to have my last name." I say
"Which brings me to how old was Charlie? And who is her real mother?" Nico asks
I look at him angrily but soften my face and sigh
"I like to think I'm her real mother because she calls me Mama anyway, Charlie was about in his mid 30's so he was a year older than my mother who was 34 when she passed." I say with a smile
"So he was young and he let his daughter call you Mama?" Nico asks
"More like he allowed it, I was there when she was born she is 2 years old now on to her mother. Her mother was a Swahilian woman that Charlie dated.
She gave Hediye up literally the day after she gave birth but of course left her on Charlie's doorstep." I explain
"Why would she do that? Was Hediye okay? and how did she get named well, who named her?" Nico asks all at once
"Swahilian parents are very strict and don't allow their children to get pregnant out of wedlock so that's why she gave Hediye up. We are different though because my father got my mother pregnant out of wedlock except he didn't allow himself to not be you know there even by video chat." I say with a small smile

Nico nods and smiles slightly at the mention of my father.
"I chose her name Hediye which means gift in Swahilian, I named her that because she was a gift from god and her middle name was from Charlie Rowan. He at least wanted a part in naming his daughter, he told me that he wanted his daughter to know of her heritage and who better to teach her than her mama. His words not mine but I've started to teach her since she was one." I say with a smile
Nico nods and pulls me to lay in the bed next to him.
We face each other and he kisses my forehead.
"So I have a beautiful daughter and two beautiful kids on the way." Nico says with a smile
"Yes, pretty much I don't know how many kids you want though." I say as I lay my head on his chest.
"I want as many as you can carry there is no exact number because I don't know how many kids you can carry." Nico explains as he rubs my back softly.
I nod against his chest and snuggle deeper into him.
"That was a very good way to put it babe." I say with a yawn
Nico yawns right after me and rubs my hair softly
"I'm happy you told me and Trusted me with the truth. Does she now have the last name Harris?" Nico asks
"Yes I put Harris for her last name even though it just didn't feel right." I say
"It didn't feel right to you because you know I'm gonna marry you and you know I'm gonna adopt that beautiful child to make her a Lombardi." Nico explains
I chuckle at his words and let his words sink in.
"Wait, you want to marry me? and Adopt Hediye?" I ask shocked
"Yes, your forever mine and why should I marry you without making sure babygirl isn't mine as well? I'm not really one of those type of guys that marries the mother but not the child." Nico says
I bite my lip and lean up to his face which is inches away from mine.
I look into his eyes and kiss him deeply on his lips.
I then lay my head back on his chest and drift off to sleep feeling a kiss on my head.
