《I Need You》Chapter Five

Sir dragged me through the house until we got to his office. I could tell how angry he was by the grip he had on my wrist, but just looking at him, you wouldn't think he would be angry one bit. And that was even more scary.
We walked through the rest of the pack members that were my age and they could clearly see the predicament I was in. They whispered and laughed with each other like this was nothing. Like my pain was nothing.
They were truly disgusting beings.
I thought I was doing so good. I haven't had a beating in almost two weeks and worried that I'm not numb to the pain anymore. This beating would really hurt. I can just tell by the look on his face.
We made it to his office and he shoved through the door as soon as he opened it. I fell to the ground with a wince and shakily backed up further into the room. Sir was stalking towards me and he yanked me up by the hair. I could feel each strand coming out of my head from where he pulled.
"Look at the mess you didn't clean up," he hissed, " I wanted my papers organized when I came back and the place vacuumed and dusted. These things clearly aren't done."
With each thing he told me I should've done, he kept yanking at my head harder and harder— shoving my face in front of everything I didn't do.
Stray tears started falling from my eyes from the pain.
I noticed that Liam was in the room near the bookshelves. He was probably talking with Sir before his attention was directed towards me.
He turned me around and right away, a fist came flying at my face. The force was so hard, it sent me flying across the room, on the wall and back on the ground.
My vision was already starting to fade out and I was already starting to see stars.
I was on the ground and he started kicking me. Each kick I could feel crushing and breaking a rib. One after the other. I started coughing up blood, even adding more to the mess by staining the floor.
"You're worthless! You should've done what you were told!" He was furious. He was screaming.
I was in pain. So much pain. Just because I decided to be a bit more lazy with my day. I really can't have anything special.
Sir stopped kicking me and yanked me up again and threw me at his desk. "But you might not be completely worthless after all," he sneered. I stared up at him confused, but soon found out what he meant. The horrifying meaning of what he meant.
He started undoing his belt with that same sadistic smile on his face.
I was full on crying now. His has never happened before. Sir hasn't done this in the past. He said that I was disgusting. That he would be disgracing his wife with the looks of me. But why now? Why me?

As if the universe heard me a voice spoke.
"Dad! I'll take it from here. I do these things remember? I'm the only one that can." Liam said. He stepped in between me and his father, trying to convince him.
Sir stared intently at Liam, like he forgot that he was even in here. Liam held his stare and by the way he was standing in front of me, he wasn't backing down.
Slightly nodding, Sir pushed Liam out of the way and yanked me up again. I winced and was hiccuping due to the heavy crying. Being pushed into Liam's arms was like a dream come true. One of the only times things went my way was the most convenient for me.
"Go" was the last word I heard when walking out of his office. I was leaning against Liam for support. My sides were aching and the pain from the bruises on my face were already throbbing. Every time I moved all I felt was pain.
My quiet sobs were the only thing you could hear down the hallway. He was taking me to his room to prove that he was finishing the "job."
Liam shut the door and locked and made his way to the recliner chair I always sit in when I come in here. I basically fell in the chair from the pain. He didn't say one word when he walked off to his bathroom. A wet rag was in his hand and paper towels in the other.
Kneeling down in front of me, he starting dabbing at a place under my nose. When he pulled the rag back I saw a dark tint of red and realized that my nose was bleeding in the midst of everything. Everything hurt so bad and everything was happening so quick that I guess I failed to realize the coolness of the liquid run out of my nose.
Finishing up cleaning the rest of the blood and cuts on my face, I just caught his eye and for the first time, he kept it. I could see pity filled in his eyes.
He feels sorry for me? No.
We looked at each other a bit longer until he looked back down to my chin, dabbing at some more blood. He stood up with a sigh and through the tissues and rag away, going over to his bed and tossed himself on it. The ceiling was his focus of attention right now.
Turning away from him, I sunk myself deeper into the recliner, already feeling so tired from everything that just happened in the last hour. I somehow couldn't wrap my head around all that's taken place. Feeling myself slipping away into unconsciousness, I felt myself look at the door one last time. This was my second safe place from him.
The first one was my dreams.

The next day I woke up in my own room. Liam must've taken me here overnight.
Another thing he's done for the first time.

I sat up with a groan. My arms instantly went to my sides because of how much they hurt. Lifting my shirt i saw a war zone of different colors.
There was blue, black, purple, and yellow all over my rib cage. My skin was already a bit paler than my natural olive skin tone due to the lack of nutrients I get by not eating and not being healthy, so it was a lot easier to see all these bruises.
I got up to look at my face in my mirror and there was a bigger bulging bruise on my left cheek. My eyes had bags under them, my left eye being worse because of the swelling.
This beating was the worst one by far and the scariest one too. I know that I have a rib that is broken and crushed. I could feel it poking against other tissue.
Sadly, I don't get a "break" from my beatings and as expected, I'm supposed to do everything I'm told.
No matter what.
I took another one of the T-shirt's I had and wrapped it tightly around my waist to secure the other ribs that might've been out of place. There was a cut on my nose, likely the days of the bleeding and the rings that he had on his finger.
Walking down the stairs to make breakfast, I was greeted with a note on the stove that read..
" went out for an alpha meeting with another pack. Won't be back until evening. Hope you slept well with your new accessories ;)"
- your alpha
Sickening. I couldn't describe him except for sickening.
Anyways I decided to fix Adrian's meal earlier, already knowing that I'd have to deal with Sir when he gets back. I picked up another random can, filled a cup with water, and made my new trek down the familiar hall.
Opening the door, I got that same feeling of belonging. That feeling of just being drained in and I knew it was because of him. I just haven't figured out what it is yet.
When I saw him, he was laying on the thin mattress material staring at the wall. Staring at him more than necessary, I finally squatted down and slid the food under the bars for him.
I felt a gust of air and all of a sudden, so quickly, he was facing me through the bars.
His eyes were blazing with blue.
Again he was angry. I haven't done anything wrong and he's already angry.
I backed away quickly, not wanting to go through what I went through yesterday.
"Did he do this to you?" Adrian spoke so quietly but with such threat in his voice anyone would've been scared to the bone.
I didn't answer him. Just finding that particular spot on the ground I always found interesting next to my foot, he spoke again.
"Did he do this to you?!" He yelled it so loud it echoed through the stone walls.
I flinched, peering up at him through my eyelashes. His breathing became heavy and he was waiting to see if I would answer. When he saw that I was looking at him, his eyes softened. Like I was something so precious.
" I promise you Kayla, I'm going to get out of here and you're coming with me. But I'm going to need your help okay?"
"Help?"
Was I hearing him right? Escaping this place? This horrid place that has been my home for 10 years?
"Yes your help. I need to regain strength and you play a big factor in it."
"I-i don't understand." I replied back weakly. How was i a big factor in his "master plan of escape."
"The food that you've been giving me, I'm pretty sure it has more silvertone in it and it's making me weaker." Adrian motioned to the food I gave him and I realized he hasn't eaten the other food I previously have given him. Silvertone was a type of pill that makes wolves very very weak. It's usually used for medical reasons like when some need to take it easy from over working themselves and need to be on bed rest or something similar. But if you take a lot of it, it could be seriously unhealthy.
"You want me to give you different food?" I spoke quietly. I was contemplating on how I could pull that off when I could barely get me any food. It wouldn't work.
"Yes. Well not exactly, sweetheart. I need you to spend more time with me."
What? Is he being serious right now?
"More time.. with you? That'll make you stronger?"
"It doesn't make sense right now, but I promise it will later on." It sounded like he was pleading with me just to go along with it. That it was really the only thing that I could do.
This man is a stranger to me. I haven't known him for that long and I'm already feeling things I've never felt for anyone. Ever. And adding on the trust for him is another concept on its own. So how come every time I look into his eyes, I feel protected and safe? That he really cares about me and he means what he says. Perhaps it was that little bit of hope I've been holding onto for ten years. That escaping would be my reality. Which is why I wanted to take this chance. The only change I might get in my life.
"You promise?" I asked. Maybe I was being stupid. But what else did I have to lose?
"I promise, love."
Love. Love.
Maybe this promise will be my superhero.
