《A generic love story: disturbance》Chapter 23

Noon break. Most students rushed to the canteen for lunch, while some had their own. Kyoya was putting away his stuffs when the girl who sat by Kenichi came to him. Her voice rose, catching Kyoya`s attention.
“Can you help me with this Physics exercise?”
“Ah… sure. So you do this… and that… and these… and those…?” [I like physics, not good at it]
“Eh?” Her eye turned into white circles. [y`know, like in anime?]
“Where don`t you understand?”
“Uhm… here” She pointed. Her hand brushed past his shoulders.
“Eeek!” Kyoya instantly jerked away. His other hand held onto where he was touched as if he was wounded. The girl threw him a surprised look.
“What`s the matter?”
“Ah… nothing, so here…and here…” Kyoya continued to explain, standing a meter away from her.
“Uhm, thanks a lot, Sougo-kun.” The girl went away, and Kyoya flopped down into his seat.
(She finally left… This isn`t good for my health)
Before he could react, his chair was suddenly lifted. The person turned Kyoya and the chair 180 degree, before sitting down in front of him. Takumi threw him a sly look:
“Ey, Kyoya-sensei is really popular with female students isn`t he.”
“W-What are you talking about?” Kyoya snapped, his face blushing red.
“Man, how are you so good with sciences? Even with my perfect memory, I struggle to get calculations right. Can`t do nothing if I haven`t seen them before.”
“I don`t really know, it just became a habit for as long as I could remember. Maybe my grandparents educated me very well when I was younger. I remember they make me study whenever I was free.”
“Eh? On top of all the chores? So that`s why you don`t even know half of our folktales and legends. Your childhood must have sucked.” He giggled.

“Well my grandpa loved watching martial arts movies. Bruce Lee, Fighter in the wind, those kinds of thing. I joined him all the time and really got into them.”
Takumi grinned. Taking out the meal that he himself made, Kyoya nagged his friend about eating plain onigiri with pickled radish once again. This time Takumi finally accepted Kyoya`s offer to teach him how to cook. Since spring break was close, they had the whole afternoon off. Takumi asked Kyoya to come over to help him with lunch.
“…Hai, I`ll be back in time for dinner. What? You don`t need dinner again? Ok. Take care, Okaa-san.” Kyoya put away his phone and answered Takumi`s gaze:
“Seems like my Kaa-san will be late today, so I`ll come over shortly. I`ll help you guys with dinner too. “ Kyoya spoke with confidence.
Then Kyoya went home for a shower. Double checking everything, he proceeded to Takumi`s house. It wasn`t far away, only took less than 4 minutes on foot. Pressing the bell, Kyoya waited. Just as he was about to feel nervous, the door clicked open. A [hawt milf] beautiful woman in her thirties, with ample breasts, and a motherly aura greeted him. Kyoya dipped his head slightly, and she called for Takumi.
“Excuse me…” Kyoya went inside. It was a medium-sized house that, although not common in Tokyo, had modest furniture and a slight sense of loneliness. Having showed his respect to Takumi`s dad, Kyle Reed, both of them eagerly got to work.
“Takumi told me a lot about you. I especially like the pictures of your bento that he showed me. Do you need my help or…”
“I- It`d be great if you can rest, Miss Nishimura.” –Kyoya hastily cut her words- [can anyone tell me, does it translate to “Nishimura-san? I think it doesn`t”] I`m confident with my cooking, and he needs to learn how to help out with chores too.”

“Ara~ such a good boy. If you say so, I`ll leave it to you two then. Thank you in advance, Sougo-kun.”
In the house, two yound men looked at the kitchen counter. More precisely, they were looking at the things laid on it.
“Uhm, we kinda didn`t expect you coming over so… this is all the ingredients we have left…”
On the table there were two carrots, three potatoes, an onion, some frozen pork, a bag of macaroni, and common household spices.
“Hmm…” Kyoya stared at the vegetables. Takumi made a long face.
“Alright. We`ll make a simple stew then. I`ll prepare the broth. Can you wash the vegetables?”
“Sure. I`ll cut them too.”
Having the ingredients laid out on the cutting board, Takumi reached for the knife on the shelf. He whirled it in his hand and sliced down on the carrot. His hand moved with a good rhythm, while the slices he made were nice and even.
“You`re pretty good with that knife” Kyoya looked at him while tasting the soup.
“I got into knife flourishing lately. My dad gave a butterfly knife so…”
Blinking his eyes from cutting onions, Takumi listened to Kyoya`s instructions. Soon, everything was poured into the pot, and then, according to Kyoya`s recipe, the hot pot only needed to sit for 15 minutes. While waiting they chat about various things, with the brisk spring wind occasionally breezing through the window.
“Itadakimasu” All of them said at once.
“Wow, this is delicious! Kyoya, you rock!”
“Sougo-kun is amazing. Your cooking is a level above auntie`s.”
Kyoya lowered his look, blushed by the compliments he was getting for such a simple dish. Takumi had the cooking process recorded in his brain. Steam was still rising from the bowl of soup on Kyle`s family shrine. Mixed with clattering dishes and cheerful chatter, the air inside the house got a lot warmer.

Wander West, in Shadow
BOOK 1 COMPLETED A young wizard journeys west, through dark forests and dangerous lands, searching for something. Accompanied by a wild witch who has secrets of her own, they come across terrible creatures, hauntings, cursed villages, and memories from their past. Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.
