《Hero or Fool》Chapter 12: Trap

My Aspectu began to shift colors, it faded from blue to complete white, the color reminded me of the landscapes in Hope's world. In addition, the metal on my blade temperature is dramatically increasing. I will be in trouble if I hold onto this mysterious white energy any longer. I release the energy and direct it toward Theresa The Aspectu is focused in a much smaller area unlike, the unfocused mass I launched at her last time. My final attack races at her with terrifying speed, this has to end it.
"Final Wall." Theresa is trying to intercept my Aspectu with a dense barrier, I can't tell exactly what it is, but it appears to be a mixture of magic and Aspectu. Will my attack be able to break through this barrier? I will have to fight Theresa completely drained if she can stand up to my final attack. Eventually, my attack reaches her barrier, sparkes are spent flying from the initial impact. Yes!
Her barrier is beginning to falter, I can see cracks forming along the sides of it. My confidence began to fade as the cracks disappeared, Theresa must be continuously strengthening her barrier using magic! Oh no, slowly yet surely my attack begins to shrink, it is not going to last much longer! How could my strongest attack fail...?Whatever, I not giving up until my last breath, I will save Tiw! The once overwhelming Aspectu finally has dispersed into nothing. I glace at Theresa, using all that magic to defend has clearly taken a toll on her mind, she can barely stand up straight. I still have a chance to win this fight, I will free Tiw no matter what. I charge in for the finishing blow at full speed but, am suddenly held back by two of the hooded figures from before.

"What is the meaning of this? I was about to defeat you fair and square! Why are your friends stopping me?" I grit my teeth.
"Ha! Even if you managed to defeat me did you really think that I would uphold my side of the deal? You are too young allow me to teach you how harsh this world really is!" My anger turned into a smirk.
"Oh, so finally reveal you're true colors! I never that whole noble protector thing had to be an act." I try to break free from the grasp of the two hooded figure, but I do not have the strength left, I fear that both my magic and Aspectu are too low to do anything monumental. I am not giving up so easily though, I continue with all my might to struggle against them, I do not know if I will be able o break their grasp like this, but it is better than doing nothing!
"Now it is time to begin the ritual to remove to his connect to Ifoik." An explosive amount of magic is released as a huge rune form in front of Tiw. The massive shockwaves from the run seem to even surprise my captures. This is my chance! I break the grip of the two hooded figures and sprint toward Tiw. I will save him! I step onto the main altar preparing to finish off Theresa.
"Ha, you fool you have fallen into our trap! This rune was not meant for Tiw- it was meant to end your life in the most painful way possible! Your lack of magic knowledge is outsounding, I mean even an average mage can tell this rune is clearly not for removing pacts." ... Bitch.
"What?" The rune begins to light up shrinking until I am the only one in the circle's circumference. I try to escape, but I am unable to pass through light around me. I tried slicing it, punching, and kicking the light. Nothing happens. I cannot escape. How could I have fallen for such an obvious ploy? My hotheaded decision to charge in recklessly is going to cost me my life. Ifoik is totally right about me, my recklessness and rash decision are a huge weakness of mine. I could believe that now of all times this is coming to haunt me. Why did it have to be when someone else's life was at stake? I feel terrible I promised to save Tiw, but I have failed him some hero I am.

"It is all over for you!" The light around me rapidly expands and flashes blinding me. When I open my eyes I the scenery had completely changed, I am surrounded by blue and clouds? Huh, why I am seeing clouds is this the sky? I look to find my answer, I am falling at an incredible pace. If I do not slow do there is a strong chance I will die! I channel the rest of my magic into one last spell. Through the power of friendship!!
"Bind Space." Yes, I managed to decrease the gravity of the space around me to fall my fall, my descend slows to crawl and I land on the ground safely. I collapse upon accomplishing my feat, what this my body feels heavy and my vision is beginning to blur. This must be what Ifoik warned me about me about magic drains away my mental strength. Crap, I am about to pass out in an unknown land this cannot turn out good for me. My vision completely fades to black.
"Is that a body over there?"
"Yeah, I think that it is!"
"Check it out he is still breathing, should we help him?"
"Yeah, he looks strong we could use him to further our goals."
