《Harmless Sweetie (Rewritten)》Chapter 4:Sickly Feeling of Abandonment

Waking up from his deep slumber, Clailip flutters his eyes open and sits up with a loud yawn. Standing up, he stretches in place and lazily walks around. Summoning his sewing kit with a snap, he takes out a shirt and a pair of shorts that he made with his mother using his sandata.
He changed into the plain clothing and threw in the robes still damp from yesternight's moonbathing into the kit. It surprisingly had a lot of space in it, but he could only store things related to sewing. He silently thanked Bu'Wan that clothing counted as one of the things he could store, or else he'd have to drag the heavy damp fabric around.
"It's more than a sewing kit at this point with the amount of clothes I've stuffed into there. Mama and I still haven't found the limit… I wonder if I can store a baby covered in cloth in there." Clailip wondered out loud, he wasn't the best at keeping his thoughts to himself.
"Wait… where am I exactly? I don't remember going here at all… actually I can't remember anything past drinking the moonflower tea. Just a magical blot of nothingness. But I do know about my magic though… hmm, I wonder what happened." Clailip wondered, "Actually, no, I only KNOW about my magic, I don't remember anything about how I got it. Like it's just a bundle of info. Man, am I dreaming right now? Lumulutang nanaman ata ako…¹" Clailip didn't know if he was just disoriented from the festivities that happened the night before, or if some sort of blow to the head caused him to lose memories.
"Nevermind not knowing where I am, isn't this the northern part of the forest? The crapples grow around here…" Clailip looked around and spotted a red, apple-like, fruit growing from the trees. "You little shits…" He didn't have very fond memories of the fruit it seems.
"Oh well, south of here is the village. Just a teeny tiny time of walking. I should probably check my magic out too." Clailip walked southward, and pulled out his adorable 4-year-old-divorakk sized scissors. Adorable because it had a colorful handle and a painted blade, it might have been big but it was far from intimidating. The blue and orange handle and the rainbow blades were fit to be a daycare-play prop.
But don't judge a book by its cover as they all say.
Clailip detached one handle from the other, "Ehe, when I grow up this'll become one deadly weapon. SSS-Class danger my ass. I have two comically big scissor blades and I'm not afraid to use them!" He slashed at a nearby tree, unfortunately it didn't slash all the way in and was only able to get in about ten centimeters deep before it got stuck. "Oh god damn it!" Clailip explained.
He pulled out another scissor blade from his kit, the one in the tree disappeared in a puff of blue smoke that smelled heavily of scratch'n'sniff blueberries. "I really liked the blue handle…" Clailip sulked, looking at the pink handle of his new scissor blade.
"This is quite possibly the worst day of my life." He talked as he walked. "At least I still have my magic… water, air, and ice huh. Sounds cool… but a blue scissor handle is much cooler." One could argue that the ability to manipulate said elements would be cooler than a blue scissor handle, but Clailip seems to not be the brightest bulb in the hospital hallway.
"Magic magic, floating bubbles and snowflakes… wow, so cool, love it." Clailip unenthusiastically threw out globs of elemental energy as he walked.

Clailip got out three spools of thread and let it float around him, and also pulled out three needles and imbued them with elemental energy. "Wow, cool glowing magical needles." Clailip was not enjoying his day.
"Woah… what happened?" Each step Clailip took, the crunching of ice and snow on damp ground resounded through the mana-saturated place. "The mana's so thick that I can barely breathe… this is Mama's mana right? And another person's." Clailip was quiet.
The clearing, once a clean and green field, was now decimated with magic.
A layer of ash-grey powdered snow coated the ground, and numerous spears and 'trees' of black ice littered the place. They were all much bigger than Clailip, and they all looked so menacing. Each spear was inscribed with runes and the 'trees' were nothing more than sharp structures of black ice that looked like it contained something inside. Everything was damp too, as if a tsunami had jusg gone by the night before. Unknown to Clailip, the field was raised way higher than last night, as hundreds of dead monstrosities were buried underneath it. In the middle of it all, a large construct of black crystal ice sits, it looked like an egg, and it contained what looked like a horned man inside. All around the ice were letters and runes.
Clailip whispered as he traced the runes, looking profound, cultured, and intelligent. His eyes widened and his lips flew open as he studied the runes, he opened his mouth, as if to speak the forbidden words written on the ice.
"This reminds me, I've never learned how to read!"
…
The words engraved on the ice reads 'Al Pruina Aeternum'.
Not knowing this fact as he never learned how to read and most likely never will due to his incompetence in actually paying attention to anything other than his blue scissor handle. Clailip went on his way to the tree where he once lived.
"Where is everyone?" Clailip was starting to get nervous, as if the first hour of the morning when everyone was supposed to be doing their morning errands and not seeing anyone or anything resembling life was not a sign of the whole village evacuating.
"God, did they just abandon me? That's depressing…" Clailip climbed up on the treetops, the seal that Antuan put on it was removed by his mother and was not reapplied again, as Antuan thought that Kara would reapply it, and vice versa.
"Acorn Soldiers, what happened." Clailip asked the clunky toys, and they communicated with the beating of their nut-bodies.
Clailip watches as the toys reenacted what happened while beating their acorn bodies. Two soldiers fighting off an onslaught of other soldiers, seemingly with magic with how the acorns moved. They knew exactly what happened as the treetop was high enough that a clear view of the plain clearing could be seen, from this high up, even the giant spires of black ice looked more like tall blender blades.
"A big fight? Ooh, a magical one! And then the land froze… I don't even want to know what that movement means… And then an evacuation?" Clailip correctly interpreted everything that the soldiers tried to communicate. The soldiers and Clailip had a very special connection it seems, that allows them to communicate easily.
"They must've forgotten about me… I mean I don't blame them but I feel awful…" Clailip visibly deflated, he didn't like the idea of having been forgotten by his own parents that seemed to love and cherish him as if he was their world. "I knew it, it all felt too good to be true." He laid down on the floor and just stared at the leaves as they rustled in the wind.

"Damn it…" his voice shook, as if he were trying not to cry. His breath was getting faster, and his lips were quivering as he fought hard to keep the welling tears in. His eyes glazed and soft sobbing sounds were rising through his mouth, until finally, he burst out in a wail.
"DAMN IT! DAMN IT ALL! I KNEW IT THEY DIDN'T WANT ME AROUND AFTER ALL!" Clailip yelled out as he continued having his tantrum, he rolled around the floor as he wailed. His snot shot out of his nose as his face was being drenched with tears, his voice was being strained to its absolute limits as he yelled out how much he hated his family for leaving him all alone.
"WHY AM I EVEN CRYING THIS HARD! I'M. AN. ADULT. 36 YEARS OLD! NO… WAIT, 20! 19? I'M NOT EVEN SURE ANYMORE!" Clailip's voice was raspy and grating from all the screaming he's done, he tried racking his brain, a lot of his former life have already been completely forgotten, or very hazy. He knew his former name but that's the clearest thing he could remember. There were times when he'd suddenly drop down a hole full of memories and he'd remember, but this wasn't one of those times. So this further upset the little boy… grown woman? Well, he acted and looked like a little boy now, his former identity was nothing more than a shadow that follows him around, no longer him, but also him at the same time.
He didn't know what to think, he was too upset, too immature, to think of any other conclusion that the reason why he was abandoned was because his family hated him. He sounded like a broken ambulance as he cried, and the acorn soldiers watched awkwardly from the upper branches, wondering why their master was throwing such a hard tantrum.
He kept crying until he passed out, tuckered out from the tantrum.
He woke up, his clothes crusty with snot and his face stained with tear marks. He groggily got up, still upset, but this time with a clearer head. "Maybe they forgot about me in the heat of battle or something…" he muttered, summoning his kit and changing out of his crusty shirt. "I should probably get out of the forest then and look for them… no wait that's incredibly stupid. But there's a chance that they may not ever come back… if I leave now and they come back and not find me here then maybe they'll put up missing posters in nearby villages and then they could find me then. Mama always told me stories of a certain human village outside of the forest that they buy ore from. It was uh, west side of the forest I think."
"Or they could just think I'm dead… damn it, what should I do? My brain says I have to stay, but I really do want to see what human villages are like… OH! I know! I can just post a note or something! I can just draw instead of writing letters since I'm illiterate." Clailip took out his hated scissor blade with the pink handle, and started drawing on the treetop's floor. It looked like gibberish at first but surprisingly Clailip was able to express in the childish drawing that he was currently at the village. How exactly he did this? Even I, am not sure.
"I'm such a great artist."
[The skill Artist leveled up from 2 to 3]
[The skill Arts n' Crafts has been gained after reaching the following requirements: Artist lvl 2, Crafting lvl 2. Crafting and art related tasks are done faster with better results, added bonus of appraised creations having better value]
"Ah, there it is. The voice of the world that keeps bugging me. Oh well, at least it's a bit useful." Clailip checked his status board, he wanted to see if Arts n' Crafts started at level 2.

"Oh? Oh yeah… Mama mentioned that everyone who undergoes the invocation ceremony gets a unique skill. Apparently most humanoid races and humans themselves all get unique skills." Clailip talked as he checked his newly-earned skill. He didn't know what it did, but apparently something that can help with sewing as the name suggested.
"But then, what's so unique about unique skills if everybody has them? How confusing… maybe it's the effects? Mama did say that the less mana the person has, the less 'unique' their skill would be." Clailip bagged up scissor blades and looked at the scribbled-on floor. He was proud of his work, just as proud as any other child that drew on walls and such.
"Time to go sight-seeing. Everyone is way too strong to lose a fight anyway, they'll come get me sooner or later." Clailip jumped inside the trapdoor and slid on the railings of the tree's inside-stairs. Screaming in delight and jumping off at the last second, he's done this so many times whenever his parents weren't looking that he's had practice sticking the landing. Behind him, a whole legion of acorn soldiers all slid down with him and were dropping down onto the floor and getting into a cute little formation as they got up, following Clailip as he walked out.
"I'll prepare a ride, made out of sticks. It'll be like, our noble steed or whatever. Onwards soldiers!" Clailip threw open the door and marched onward to the trees. He gathered sticks and stones, and thread from his kit that he kept close by. Due to his size, he unloaded much of the sticks and stones on top of the sewing kit. "If I can't put it inside you, I'm letting it sit on top of you." He patted the kit as he collected more and more and finally reached the tree line.
"Now, to assemble a gorgeous steed." Clailip proceeded to take the sticks and stones, using the thread—Which he by the way had a seemingly infinite amount of as long as he had mana—he tied up the ends and joints. The stones were used as joints while the sticks were the main body and the limbs.
Finally, after almost three whole hours of building. He finally was able to do it, he made a mangled mess of sticks and stones that looked barely like a horse. One look and people would definitely know that this horse-like thing would absolutely hate to come alive. Somehow though, Clailip found this to be an amazing achievement, even the acorn soldiers gave him a resounding applause that sounded like the rummaging of twigs.
"And finally, a mouth for you to speak." Clailip said, as he held deformed lips in his hands. The sun shone brightly in the sky, it was currently high-noon it seems, but the ice mana that polluted the area was way too dense for anything in the area to feel any kind of heat. It was still very chilly despite the sunshine hitting Clailip directly.
Clailip put the mouth on the mangled form of what is supposed to be a horse, and activated Toymaker.
"kILl mE-" it screeched the moment it came alive. Prompting Clailip to immediately rip the pair of lips off.
"I think it'd be better if you, uh, stayed silent for a while." Clailip nervously giggled, and the poor abomination could only move up and down to agree.
1. "Lumulutang nanaman ata ako..." is a hard phrase to translate ad there's no actual 'real' translation for the 'lutang' feeling. The best way to describe it is a moment or a period of time when someone has 0 braincells to spare, but as a feeling. So the phrase could translate to "I may actually be braindead right now..." but that isn't 100% right either, but its the closest thing I can think of.
