《The Lies They Told Me: Short stories from my life》Epilogue

I chose to end this book here because it marked a turning point in my life.

Up until I moved to Washington State I'd been a relatively happy on the outside type of person. I never indulged in my anger, but the breakdown of what support system I did have (e.g. friends and Ophelia), combined with the realization that I truly was alone forced me to deal with all of that anger.

My next book will focus primarily on my shift into adulthood and dealing with those emotions and more of my own personal experiences. Without Ophelia around, my life stopped primarily revolving around her, and took on it's own trajectory. It also took me from age 16 to age 29 to finally clear the air with my family about those feelings, so it isn't a short journey by any means. Plus, it's a journey that I chose to weather alone.

I wanted to close this book by letting you know, I know that I'm not the only person out there that has endured extraordinary circumstances. By far, I'm also not the only person repressing their feelings or fighting to stay strong for other people, so I urge you to share your experiences. You're not alone and your story is important, even if you think it isn't.

I hope you enjoyed reading my first book and I look forward to sharing my journeys with you in the future.
