Chapter 64 · Wild things

It only seemed to last a moment, the warmth. I felt her lips, her tongue and I wanted more. I wanted all of her.

Then I felt her pull away leaving me panting. I opened my eyes he sees her face, red hair falling over me with the mouth slightly open her breath hard like mine.

We sat like that for a while looking at each over. I wanted more so I lent forwards only for Zoe to shake her head and put her hand on my chest.

"Not now," she said with a smile but her eyes seemed clouded. I just nodded.

"So now what?" I whispered not sure what to do.

"I'm not sure. I'm kind of hungry I guess," Zoe said rolling off me onto the now cold earth.

I just gave a nod. I wasn't listening and I don't think Zoe would care. Zoe just kissed me.

She kissed me and I didn't stop her. I don't even know what I'm meant to be feeling now but I know that I'm at least a little happy, ok so very happy, and a little unsure what to do and also something else. Am I feeling lonely?

Maybe I was always lonely it just took being with someone to release it or something.

I gave a shiver as a light wind ran threw the tree's giving off the slightest whistle while chilling my body.

I slowly stood up my heart now starting to slow.

"It's getting cold maybe we should head back," Zoe explained now also standing.

The walk back was oddly quite. We didn't talk as Zoe lead me threw the path back to the silent house. The lack of light didn't seem to bother her as she pulled me along her hand around mine.

I didn't mind quite. I still didn't know what I was going to do and I was trying to make sure I didn't forget that moment. The kiss. I wanted to carve it deep in my mind where I can't lose it.

Slowly the looming figure of the house stood tall above, the door stood shut only a few steps away when I felt the warmth leave my side. I look to see Zoe stand back.

Why did she stop? Did I do something wrong? Didn't she want to go in with me? She wouldn't... would she.

"You're not going to... run away are you?" I asked hesitantly looking up past my messy hair that was hand pass my head.

"Why would I do that?" She replied half-jokingly

"Well in all the books I read that's what tends to happen,"

Her face seemed to twitch as she leans in and said while fixing my hair slowly as if treasuring the moment "of course not, it's just a walk I promise and Jade," she seemed to pause for a moment moving away stiffly " you shouldn't believe everything you read."

I gave a tiny nod. I felt her hand leave mine.

She turned and walk off into the wood soon disappearing into the wilderness.

My heart sank a little as I took my hand back still feeling the shadow of her grip.

"She wouldn't leave me. She didn't say goodbye," I whispered to myself the words feeling like an echo of something else.

I gave a shaky sigh before walling towards the door. Walking up the steps I raised my hand to knock.

"Your late little lady," came a voice as the door opened wide before I had a chance to knock. There stood Terry his face held a small frown.

"S-sorry," I whispered before stepping in.
