《Maroon Odyssey: Story of the survivors of a plane crash in a magical world》XXI Envoy 5.3 Sian

We spent the next few hours discussing plans with the council. The town had one pegaus it used as a messenger to the holdfasts. The council was ware of risking it; but we convinced them that none of our people would do anything stupid. The message would explain the terms of the deal and that a team was being sent to escort the survivors back to the town before winter set in. Guards from the militia would go along to protect them and ample pack goats would be sent to bring as much luggage as possible. Meacham and Xola would be going with them while Rachel, Sara, Simon and I were staying in the town to acclimate ourselves to the local culture. It would be a couple of weeks before the first wave of refugees hit the town. Not enough time to learn the language; but I already had a good head start.
Of course I still needed a job. I wasn’t going to live on benches in a common room of a ratty common room if I had the choice. I thought about trying to convince one of the more upscale establishments to hire me on; but I didn’t think my travel worn appearance would be too convincing. I tried busking in the streets; but not a minute after I started a guard trod up to me and made it clear I wasn’t welcome. And so I just walked around town attempting to chat people up.
It seemed like most people my age were working and not many of them were impressed with a foreign musician. The humans were wearing warmer clothes than the satyrs. Instead of knee length tunics women wore ankle length skirts with stockings underneath. The men wore shorter kilts with leggings. I felt extremely out of place in my jeans and hoodie. And then it started to rain.

Dejected I made my way back to the One Horned Minotaur where I found the bard, from the night before, playing his lute. He had puffy velvet trousers over legging and a jacket with thick ivory lace sleeves. And an Elizabethan lace collar around his neck. The outfit must have been magic. There was no way he could keep it that perfect under these conditions. It looked brand new.
And something was way off about his lute. It wasn’t that it was louder than any an unamplified instrument should be. But the sound seemed to reach my ears more clearly than one would expect from the shitty acoustics of a noisy tavern. Of course it was so subtle I might have been imagining it.
When he noticed me he stopped playing and gestured for me to come to him. He pointed to my guitar and said something in the Trade Tongue. From my rough understanding of the language he said “Guitarra. You learn from centaur?”
I did my best to explain there were no centaurs where we came from. I don’t think he got it because he made a clip clopping sound of hooves on cobblestones before I should my head and said no. He motioned for me to play. Nervously I played a few songs before he continued in the Trade Tongue, ‘Not centaur music; but still guitarra. Hmm.” He laughed and motioned for me to continue.
I think the next few sets were the best I played in my life. As I played I lost myself to the music. All my worries and regrets faded away and the agony of losing my family retreated for the moment. When I finally looked up the common room was full. I didn’t get a standing ovation; but there was plenty of clapping and even a few whoops from Sara and Zola.

Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. Swamy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Thanks @DameCarnelian for the cover. Just so people don't get confused, that ship is not Raka's ship :)

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.

A Cultivation Journey
A story of reincarnator...maybe a transmigrator?... with the strongest cultivation manual which is somehow underpowered given it's standard. This is his story in a land of cultivation filled with unknown possibilities.

The Great Erectus and Faun
The Great Erectus, otherwise known as "The Big Guy" is NOT a god. Don't call him that. It will tick him off. He and his newfound apprentice/sidekick the definitely not a creation goddess Faun have a little problem. The Big Guy's universe is blowing up. Faun might have had something to do with that. (She feels awful about it BTW) They must rush about the unraveling universe saving (or judging) worlds as the end of all things is bearing down upon them at the speed of light, so they have a bit of time but really can't mess about. Along the way they will encounter Lovecraftian horrors, divine ex-girlfriends, surly AI's and a host of other hassles. Enjoy such delights as the complete destruction of the universe, a children's "Christmas pageant" except where "the greatest story ever told" involves an eldritch horror from another universe, and an innocent misunderstanding concerning the exact definition of a "red dwarf". Existential dread! Lovecraftian comedy! It's as much madness as can be shoved into a single work and still remotely make sense! If you enjoy completely off the hook lunacy, this one is for you!
