“What the fuck am I going to spend all these points on?” Kai was overwhelmed and he was willing to admit it. “Any thoughts for me about stats? I was thinking about being fairly well rounded but I have a feeling that specializing is better.”
“At a certain point yes, you will have some amazing stats compared to where you are now but, you will find yourself leaning more towards the physical or magical. That is a decision you need to make. Once you have made that decision other more specific stats become easier to figure out. So what will it be? Physical or magical?” Daniel asked.
Kai thought and paced from one side of the office to the other. Daniel and Alric sat there and talked quietly, Kai paid them no mind. He knew that he was in great shape, and his sword skills and fighting techniques were the best they had ever been, but damn was it cool to throw a Mana Bolt.
“I have another question. Do skills matter more than stats?”
Alric shook his head, “That’s too basic a question. You can’t-”
Daniel coughed and Alric stopped talking. “Yes and no. With enough skills at a high enough level yes you can overcome a stat deficit. But at a large enough stat deficit then skills don’t matter. In general focus on improving your skills but back those skills up with some hefty stats.”
“That’s all I needed to know. I’m going to focus on my physical skills for now and improve my magic stats to compensate for my lack of experience with magic skills. I want to work on my focus and control plus I want to be able to cast Mana Bolt more than twice without chugging a potion, or waiting for an hour.”

Kai brought his Focus up to 30 and felt a noticeable effect when he concentrated on what he was doing. Six points went to Control to bring that to a round 10. Next he brought Perception up to 15 because he figured if he noticed something before others he could respond faster, five points went to Reaction to help with that thought. He went ahead and put four points into Agility to help his speed as well. Five points went to Intelligence and Wisdom to help his mana pool. Last, he placed a point into Vitality, Strength, Resistance and Willpower to even a few things out. He glanced at his Stats to make sure he was happy.

Kai closed his screen, “What’s next for me?”
Daniel had savage grin on his face. “Based on your skills we have a plan of training and a goal regarding your skills and their training.” He passed a piece of paper across his desk, Alric handed it to Kai.

“How the hell am I going to do this? Are you going to chase me with buckets of acid again? Because I’ll fucking shoot your asses with Mana Bolts this time.”
“No acid this time. Unless you want to raise those resistances in a safe controlled environment,” Daniel paused and waited for an answer.
Kai glared in response.
“I’ll take that as a no,” Daniel continued. “I instead focused on practical and improvable skills. The crafting is in there as are some combat and physical skills. I know you’ve heard about the scout patrol that will be going out in two days. I believe incentives may help you. If you get your crafting skills, along with the mundane task skills, to these levels then you may go on the scout patrol and fight some monsters which will accelerate your other skill growth. Thoughts?”
Kai glanced at the numbers. “So I have two days to get my crafting skills to around 10 and the shit skills to 5?”
Daniel nodded.
“I’m out of here and I’ll see you in two days. Tell that patrol that I’ll be coming along.” Kai spun and walked out the door of Daniel’s office.
Alric sighed. “Are you sure this is wise? He’s still so new.”
“We must push these people. They have the advantage of our knowledge which we can prove with Kai can be so beneficial. However, I’m not certain they realize how much danger they are in since every day is not a struggle and you wonder if you’ll live to see tomorrow.” Daniel rubbed his temple as though he had a headache.
Alric opened his mouth to speak then closed it. Daniel noticed and motioned him to go ahead with it.
“It’s just that we pushing him down a path without letting him find one naturally. Will that work in this system?” Alric asked.
Daniel closed his eyes and sighed. “Alric, babies are being born and we have no idea what growing up in the system will mean for them. We must know to what extent we can influence the system. By using young Kai in this experiment we are going to learn about how the system can be pushed. We won’t give him a class idea to think of but we will give him some ideas and perhaps his imagination will result in something even greater.”
“I still just feel as though we are playing god with a young man’s life.”
“Well, perhaps at a certain level of power we almost are gods now Alric. At least what we imagined gods could be before this all happened. Now I can only imagine Cthulhu like creatures that are beyond our comprehension. Only something like that could really be a god to me anymore. And I fear even seeing something like that would only give some among us another goal to aspire to.”
Alric shivered, “Let’s see what he does these next two days.”

Rise for the Sky [Slow-Pace Multi-Lead Dungeon Crawler]
Sixty people have awoken at the bottom of a one hundred floor dungeon. Together they must confront the terror of monsters and seek the answers to why they are here. Expectations: This story is written from multiple perspectives, male and female. Most chapters are a single person, but there will be chapters where there are a couple of quick scenes with different people. The story does take place in a dungeon, but there is no leveling system. This a realistic take on the classic litRPG and iskai tropes written like a traditional novel. There is a profanity warning because I wish to be natural with how people talk and cursing is a thing people do. So it will happen where it makes sense. Gore is warned because this is a realistic take, and people will be torn apart by monsters. I don't plan to be overly detailed with it but be warned it will happen. Updates Every Monday. Chapters will be between 3,000 to 5,000 words. Fulfill Patreon goals to increase updates

Meg The Heavenly Merchant
Updates once a week.(This is a rough draft) Author's Note: This story has grown in ways I did not predict and while it still features a merchant those aspects have gotten less page time than the fighting and romance elements. I have updated the description to represent the story better) For the past fourteen years Meg has dedicated herself to walking the path of a Heavenly Dragon Knight in her favorite videogame, Tattered Realms:Chaos Age. But now the game is shutting down and everyone wants to know what she plans to do for the sequel. Meg isn't sure at first. She knows only that she yearns for the days when she could lose herself in a game without worrying about boss strategies and crushing her rivals. And when her friend suggests playing a merchant her heart is filled with the same wanderlust and inspiration that launched her gaming career in the first place. But if she isn't dominating dungeons and setting records will people still watch her play? And can she really walk away from all the fighting for a quiet life of buying and selling?
