《Sanctity of Blood》Chapter 02 : "It's a Boy."

"It`s a boy." One of the midwives said.
What followed were the sharp cries of an infant.
The mother looked tired but happy. She beckoned the midwife holding his son to give him to her.
When she held him, it was just the moment when the boy opened his eyes. on one of the eyes, the pupil was red and the iris a lighter shade of red as well.
The mother was shocked and cold sweat started pouring out of her body.
Had she given birth to a demon? Was the child human? It must be. Both parents were humans.
It was then that a boorish man barged into the room saying, "I hope it`s a boy. I already have two daughters. How am i going to face my father without an heir?"
The man looked to be in his twenties. He wore nothing else but a loincloth and his muscles struck fear onto everyone who saw them. He looked like the biggest bodybuilder ever seen. Comparing him to a monster in human skin wasn`t far from the truth. He also held a lance that was two meters in height...the lance looked like a midget to his 2.3 meters of height.
When he arrived before his wife and saw how scared she was, he said, "Why do you look like you`ve seen a ghost? Here, let me take care of my baby, you just gather some strength first."
"heheheh, it`s a boy." The father said.
The mother then said, "John, look at his left eye."
"What? Don`t tell me that he`s blind." John said as he looked at the boy`s left eye. When he saw the glowing red eye his heart skipped a beat. After a while, he calmed himself down as he said, "Maybe it`s what those immortals call Bloodline Ability Manifestation. We`ll know soon enough what his ability is. This is better than i could expect. No one in the village has a bloodline ability and no one has been able to embark on the path of cultivation. Now my son has that chance. With a bloodline ability comes a powerful soul suitable for cultivation. Heheheh." John was elated.

Five years later
Little Drake grew up in loving big family. He had two older sisters and one little sister.
His father, John Brightwood, was the young chief of the village. He had proved himself a capable hunter early in his teens, surpassing the old veterans with his muscles of steel which had impressed his father, Alain Brightwood, who had relinquished his rule over the village to his only heir.
The entire Brightwood village now knew of little Drake's bloodline ability that had yet to appear. They had high hopes for him. If little Drake managed to become an immortal, the entire village would be safe for as long as his immortal life lasted...even longer if we counted his offspring that would take on the mantle after his death.
It was a matter of time before he was scouted by an immortal sect.
As for Drake Brightwood, he was keeping a low profile ever since he reincarnated into this new world.
The Blood Reincarnation Blood Magic he casted before he died on earth had worked a little bit too well. It had to be known that even if he would have been born a cripple, he could have healed after some time.
It only took him a few hours after birth to regain his entire memories. Otherwise, it could've taken him years at most.
Blood Reincarnation meant fusing the bloodline source into the passing soul. Once the soul had reincarnated, the bloodline source would then gradually seep into the body. Drake's body finished absorbing his bloodline source when he was three years old. He had the full powers of an Elder Vampire and the Mad Hunter's evolved Lycan bloodline.
Perhaps, it was the fact that he stole the Mad Hunter's Lycan bloodline that everything happened so fast. In the other two times he had reincarnated, he had only used one body for the sacrifice. His own body.
Blood Magic also seemed to not be rejected by the laws of this world. Well, there was no way it could be rejected since it was his own power, his deep connection to blood.

With Blood Magic he could rewrite his bloodline anew by giving himself new powers as long as he had time to research.
And while he was curious about the power systems of this world, he was confident that he didn't need them as his own power was limitless down the line. He envisioned that given enough time for the Lycan bloodline to continuously feed on the Vampire Bloodline, he would become invincible and omnipotent.
There was one thing that bothered him though: his family.
As much as he wanted to not be close to them as he was bound to lose them to old age, he found himself liking them more and more every day. Their love for him was unconditional and pure. That, couldn't be denied.
Once he was three years old, he thought about leaving the village on his own forever. That way, he could sever the ties he had with his family and then live his immortal life leisurely...but he couldn't bare to think about his heartbroken mother and father...and his doting sisters.
When he finally decided to stay, it wasn't like turning them into hybrids like himself never crossed his mind...but he had to study this world first. He first had to know that his existence wasn't a calamity for himself and this small village before he shared his powers.
In fact, if making his family and the whole Brightwood village immortal was all he had to do, he could do it in a roundabout way without giving away his own Bloodline Source.
He had to rely on Blood Magic to purify the blood of beasts that the hunters from the village always hunted.
Level 1 purified blood could heal wounds and increase one's vitality.
Level 2 purified blood could help regrow lost limbs.
Level 3 purified blood could change one's constitution for the better. Apart from healing and increasing vitality making it so you could live longer, you could also become stronger indefinitely as long as you injested it. Of course, the stronger one became, the more it's effects would be less visible. You would then need stronger purified blood to heal, increase vitality and strength.
From his father's bragging, Drake had learned about the almighty beasts that lived in the neighboring Brightwood mountains. The beasts in this world had a simple classification. They ranged from class 1, the weakest, to class 9, the strongest. From the class 1 and class 2 beasts that his father and his party could hunt, Drake had found out early on that only the blood of class 2 beast could be purified into level 1 purified blood. The quality was barely passable which meant that he would need a class 3 beast to create a proper level 1 purified blood.
It also seemed that the beasts were in aboundance not only in the Brightwood mountains but also in this world.
Once Drake learned that, he heaved a sigh of relief. It meant that he could create as much level 3 purified blood as he could....that and so much more. At least, he wasn't going to feed on humans.
While the blood of humans on earth was delicious, it wasn't as nutritious for an Elder Vampire like himself... But the beasts in this world cultivated in such a way that their blood could feed him to satisfaction.
As he made sure that everyone in the house was asleep, Drake soundlessly left through the window in his room.
He was going to the Brightwood mountains to purify some beast's blood and experiment with his Blood Magic.
Unbeknownst to him, there was a shadow following him from afar.

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
Dungeons are a lot like sea turtles. They’re born in clutches of dozens, if not hundreds. But most of humanity only know about the dungeons that make it. Mark doesn’t know anything about dungeons.
