《Moniker's Mana》Chapter 4

The royal demon family and the 'elf' were at some sort of temple. Their current goal was to give the 'elf' a status. A status is a magic that the humans copied from the gods. In turn, the demons copied it from the humans and just about every race uses them now. The Status is an indication of one's stats and skills. Statuses have the ability to communicate with another person via text. They also have a simple prediction system. For example, if someone wanted to kill you and you didn't want to defend yourself then the status will give you an indication that they will probably kill you if you do not defend yourself.
The royal demon kin were especially interested in giving the 'elf' status in order to see his race.
The royal demon kin soon arrived at a large room about 2 stories high that dyed in white. Large pitch white columns lined the walls. It was as if they could hold up a mountain. The 'elf' flew to every corner of the room in awe. He couldn't hold his curiosity back and made darkness appear in his hand. Unlike in his room, this room of "light" was affected by the darkness.
"Down here!"
Scarlet gestured at the 'elf' with a large smile on her face unable to hold back her excitement. The 'elf' flew back down behind her. Scarlet grabbed the elf's hand and led him to the others. The elf had a blank expression. He was looking upwards at the odd mana that this place contained wondering how he could make it dance and transform.
"First I need to know his name and the magic will do the rest. It's very similar to a contract with a spirit."
The priest quickly announced to Johnathan and Samantha how the process worked.

"But he doesn't have one. At least not one that I know of."
Scarlet explained.
"Oh... I suppose you could give him one then. It would be a different story if he had a name that you didn't know about though."
Scarlet was filled to the brim with joy.
"Then how about Moniker?"
"What does it mean?"
Rin asked curiously. Scarlet then said:
"It means name."
"What?"
Rin asked confused. Scarlet then ignored him and continued to the priest.
"Use Moniker as his name."
"As you wish."
Then there was a flash of blinding blue light. Suddenly a blue window appeared in front of Moniker. The average stats of a human being 10 for strength, agility, and health. The demons are mostly the same or a bit higher however humans have 5 magic while demons have 20 magic(on average).

To be blunt, the MC is not a good person, so unless you're interested in such a thing, I'd strongly advise you to not read Currant Choir.

Manaseared
Adventuring is for losers. Only the absolutely impoverished or the megalomaniacally mad would stoop to graverobbing and dungeon-delving to put food on their tables. As a career it is dangerous, unreliable, illegal, and infinitely unpleasant. Most who choose this life have no other options. They're the seventh sons of seventh sons, the disowned, bastards, impoverished and desperate, and nearly always young. And they are, without fail, losers. Eris is an adventurer. Eris is a loser. Like most of her make she's a teenage runaway with no other options. Unlike her company, she isn't fodder for the meatgrinder. She's beautiful, brilliant, and a talented magician; she's also vain, callous, selfish, and proud. This is her story, as she grows into adulthood, masters her abilities, and learns to care about more than just herself. Manaseared is an episodic fantasy adventure serial. It's also a pastiche of early D&D and RPGs in general, and an attempt to explore at what it might really mean to be a first level adventurer.
