《INSANE: Humans and Demons》8- Beware of Bats, They See The Future

"Don't try, they will disappear again. They understand you. After all, animals can understand demons."
"What's about demons?"
"Marcle had written in his papers." the tall man ignored the boy. "Beware of bats, they inhabitate the night because its their comfort. And when hunger overweight them they appear in the noon… they can see pits of the future so beware of their smiles… whatever good for them, is bad for us."
Davish's eyes lost their color for a second…
"Boy, I'm spending sometime here. I think you have been through your first evolution today, things might get scary at first. But everything will be normal once you get used to it. I wish I could take you along to where you belong… but the algorithm has yet to understand your nature..."
The boy couldn't understand a thing. No, he understood some, but he couldn't believe it. He smiled at the tall man.
"Mister." Davish waited for the man to look at him. "I'm a human."
The eyes of the man stared at him half opened, dead grey with no visible pupils to them, "I'll test your humanity in the future. I hope you appear to be human. Because I find it hard to guess what demon you are."
"I'm a human," the boy said again.
But this time the man ignored.
He walked away, and before he disappeared he said, "you won't see anything at first, you will just hear them. But be brave and don't falter. And go and hide now… it won't get easy."
The tall man disappeared, and everything returned normal. The life returned and everyone seemed to notice him again. He looked at the silks, to find that the bats disappeared again. He looked at Alune, and slowly approached him.

"Did you know?" Davish asked, standing before the boy.
"What?"
"Strong sun like today's can penetrate through umbrellas and cause cancer. My parents told me that if I spend some time out under this sun I will get cancer. And now I think I'm getting it."
Alune's eyes widened, "really?!"
"I swear. Alune I don't want you to get cancer, so enter your house now!" Davish grabbed his head and rubbed on his eyes. "Cancer hurts."
Alune stood with trembling eyelids, stared at Davish for a second, then slid his home's door open and purged in.
Davish looked at the playing kids. Then at the silks where no bat rested.
He approached the street, "if you keep playing you will get cancer."
But as expected, no one cared. All of them laughed at him, the king mocked him saying that he was Alune the second and they continued playing.
Davish sighed and returned home.
His mother welcomed him with a hug. And his older sister asked him of his time out… but he didn't tell them about the bat. Who said that they would even believe…
The lunch was prepared and the family grouped to eat…
And then it happened.
It was the first time for Davish to hear it. The first time for him to understand the place he was living in. The first time for him, to understand why his family prevented him from going out.
Everything shook, some walls cracked and the interior decoration fell on them, the hanging library hanging behind him fell and a few books struck his head, and he fell unconscious.
Everything became dark.

The rich neighborhood of Alebra, was affected by a nearby explosion prepared by a group of terrorists to kill as much of the rich people as they could. The Neighborhood was heavily protected and so the far explosion couldn't kill who was indoor. The casualities were twenty-two males children who were playing football at the time of the explosion and many guards who protected the neighborhood. It's said that when the police came to the death scene hundreds of bats were found sucking on the corpses.

……
The darkness slowly disappeared and Davish opened his eyes.
A dream of the past?
The ceiling was old and broken. The moon appeared through its holes. The bed under him had many springs projected and a cockroach walked on his chest.
The past was something to forget, but he was cursed with good memory, he would never forget a person, or an event. The kids who died were here, in houses neighboring to this.
This was his bed eleven years ago. This broken room used to be desired by most people… even the riches.
He bolted up and walked through the ruins. The wodden floor was full of nails and the TV by the corner was cracked. The door was rotten on the ground and he stepped on it casually.
This neighborhood had been deserted nine years ago after experiencing a series of terroristic attacks and explosions. Many people had died, he and his family had been lucky enough to make it alive to their next house, in a city specifically designed for them, the riches.
The young boy covered his wrapped mouth as he sighed, and moved his other hand around to catch the fence of the stairs. With this fragile body, it wouldn't take more than one slip to kill him.
Once he found the fence he slowly descended with his better knee, if he put the weight on his crackling knee he wouldn't be able to sleep soundly after.
Step after step his memories in this house flashed in. the smiles of his mother, the love story of his sister, and the gold that slumbered under the bed unspent until, one day was stollen.
The boy chuckled.
How life could change overnight, that once the daring mother to spit only hateful curses and the once devoting father to try and think of selling him to the human dealers…
Life wasn't really worth anything. Because whatever their intentions and ideas were. Whatever they wanted and wished for… now had no meaning… because all of them weren't alive anymore.
The boy reached the kitchen's door and slowly walked through the garage. The door was half broken he jumped on its base and took a deep breath filled with sand and pollution. No lights around, only the moon.
He stood on the edge of the sidewalk, stared at the deserted street which pavement was worn and cracked.
And then a glowing ball rounded in front of him, followed by a glowing figure. The figure was for a kid, running after the ball. Trying with all its might to catch it, as if other players were chasing it. The kid stabilized the ball with his foot and then looked at him…
Davish's eyes blinked twice… the king, for over a decade, was still playing.

Will You Be Alone? After The End? Don't You Know We're All Still Here?
More than a century ago the world was devastated, but that doesn't matter. Nobody cares about the past, stories from that time are as wildly conflicting as they are ridiculous--when any stories exist at all. There are problems in the here and now that need to be dealt with, bringing the past into things isn't going to help anyone. The fact is that young people all over the world are developing mysterious powers, and the public reactions to these powers are far from positive. Fair enough, you might say. Who wants a young man around who can conjure heat from the palm of his hand? How deeply undesirable is a girl who can bend your emotions to her will? What use, I ask you, is a girl whose very essence crackles with lightning? No use at all, I'd say. As for this so-called Mr Fin and his grand ideals, well, all I can say is that his clothing is of better quality than his plans. Vague allusions to a 'sanctuary' and a 'mysterious and powerful statue' are all very well, but when it comes to solid results I fear you may find him somewhat lacking. Mark my words and mark them well, following one such as him will only lead to tears. All in all, I'd say there's not much you could reasonably expect from a world such as this. Conflict, perhaps. Hardship, certainly. Despair, heartache, loss... ...hope? No, don't be ridiculous. Where could one find hope, in this ruin of an existence? Honestly, I am asking. Where?Discord
