Day 0
A banging noises startled him, or maybe that was just the headache pounding away at his brain. It was as if a dwarf was inside his head and took a pickaxe to it, as if searching for a rare mineral...Nope, that was the door.
It rattled and shook as if being hit by an angry mother. The animalistic grunting and growling was very off putting. Ethan glanced at his surroundings and jumped back quickly. The ground was covered in a thick nearly solid molasses of green blood, almost like peanut butter. A rancid rotten egg smell permeated his nose quickly.
Ethans vision swam before looking down and noticing a green ball at his feet. As he tried to stand the ball shifted and he caught sight of a face. The memories came surging back. He staggered backwards, clutching his arms to his chest in fear.
His foot slipped on the congealing blood and he fell backwards, groaning in pain as he hit the floor. Slowly this time he grabbed the toilet lip to pull himself up. Once he stood up, the gobli...no it was easier to think of it as a green ball. Fear surged through his body as the banging continued to grate at his senses.
Looking down at the green ball and congealing blood Ethan realized if he was going to survive something had to be done. Pinching his nose shut he stooped down and grabbed at his would be killer. With a couple heaves and several coughing and gagging breaks Ethan managed to get the corpse to the wall, giving him more space in the bathroom.
The banging continued but if the door wasn’t broken by now, it was unlikely that it would break clean off with no warning. Looking down at the floor he gagged again, it was covered in the lifeblood of the thing that tried to kill him. Ethan looked down at the floor. Green sticky blood coated it like peanut butter, would his blood stain the floor next?

No. He would get out of here, but how? The door had enemies outside it, and who knows how the rest of the world was right now? If he stayed inside would the government save him? The government was slow, no way they’d be fast enough to save him. The sink gave him water, and time. He turned around to look at the sink and his eyes grew wide. There was a small window above the sink...maybe he could squeeze through and escape!
With a glimmer of hope he raised his hands to the windowsill and tried to pull himself up. The cuts on his arm screamed in protest and he let go, unable to handle the pain. With a sigh of defeat he sat on the edge of the tub. The bathroom was a small affair, it had a shower and bath combo, a sink, a window, a dead thing, and a small weak human.
Looking at the banging door with desperate eyes he shouted “Stop that noise! I’m trying to focus!” Suddenly the banging stopped. Ethans eyes grew wide, he had no idea what was going to happen next. With a shaky step and eyes that never left the handle to the door to the unknown.
With a trembling hand and wide eyes Ethans hand grabbed at the handle. Even if there were more of the green murder balls outside the door would hold. If he was going to die, these bastards were going down with him.
When Ethan swung the door open, six heads looked up. Green snot dribbling from their noses and sharp nails glistening in the fluorescent lighting. One stood behind the rest, larger and rippling with muscle. Likely the source of the banging. For that one second nobody moved, and then the green goblins moved.

They rushed at the open door, snarling and reaching out with their claws. Ethan immediately started to slam the door closed, the goblin at the front was the unlucky one. A loud crunch echoed through the bathroom, the lead goblins arms had been stuck between the door and the wall!
With a scream of pain the goblin managed to pull himself through the tiny gap, leaving the rest of his party behind as Ethan slammed the door closed. Suddenly it was upon him, growling and attempting to swing its broken arms at him. The blows didn’t hurt as much as annoy him. Ethan tossed it off him with a grunt and stood up. Looking down at it he was caught with his guard down as it lunged and bit his leg hard. With a scream of pain Ethan raised his foot and stomped down as hard as he could on its head.
A cracking sound echoed in the room and the goblin struggled for a few seconds before falling limp. Words similar to the last popped up in his vision.
Congratulations on being the first human from Earth 28571 to kill two (Goblin) Invaders from the First Wave of the Goblin subtype. You have been awarded with a health potion, and the title “Slayer” to display on your Universal Relay page. Please get to a Safe Zone to see the rest of your rewards.
Ethan looked around where was this health potion? With the bite on his leg dribbling his dark red blood onto the floor, that was what he needed most. He lifted up the goblin, it wasn’t underneath the body. If it was in the Safe Zone he was dead. Quickly he patted himself down to see if it was on his person. While he was checking his back pocket his hand touched what felt like a cork. Pulling it out slowly as to not break it, Ethan began to get a bit lightheaded.
With trembling hands he held the potion in his hands, a deep blood red liquid sloshed around in a small vial. Ethan popped the cork, and the metallic smell of blood grew even more potent in the air. Feeling even more lightheaded he sat down on the edge of the tub. With a grimace he raised it to his lips and chugged it all. It tasted like blood, and didn’t go down without several gags.
As soon as all the liquid was down his throat, the pain assaulting his body and mind began to diminish. With wide eyes Ethan watched as his wounds healed before his eyes. His arms slowly knit back together, and his leg stopped bleeding.
You have now reached level two!
Flashed before his eyes as they rolled back into his head and fell backwards into the tub, completely exhausted.
