Watching Mancin pour over the diagram, with such focus. It was like everything besides the piece of paper in front of him disappeared. After several minutes of him making small noises. As he ran his finger from rune to rune, across every connection, methodically. Just when I thought I was going to explode from the suspense of watching him. He let a short “Ha” stabbing his finger at one of the runes. An inch or so away from the center of the spell matrix.
Looking at me, Mancin said, "I'd first like to say, this is not the common version of the levitate spell matrix.” Tapping on the rune, that he had stabbed with his finger earlier. He said, "I’m not sure who made it or why, but it has a lot of extra runes. That I think are just meant to support this rune here.” I'm not sure where he's going with this, but I just hope he has an answer. What If this spell matrix doesn't work or was made wrong. It could mean all the spell matrixes in my head are useless. My chest was tight from the stress, and I could feel the panic building.
Flicking his hand at another packed bookcase, this one towards the left of us. Causing a book bound in brown leather, to fly towards us. As it landed on the coffee table next to the grey one. Flipping through the pages, Mancin said “This book is a primer. On positions in the body and how they interact with spell matrixes. It's usually used by advanced apprentices. That are on the verge of becoming magi. I want to properly explain this, so you can easily grasp. What you need to do to form this spell matrix.”
Coming to a diagram, almost three-fourths in the book. He said, "Ah, here it is.” Turning the book towards me, Mancin said, "This Is obviously an outline of the human body. But this diagram focuses on the head and positions you can place a spell matrix to increase certain effects. I'm sure it sounds confusing, but it's not, I promise. All you have to remember. Is to take advantage of the benefits of a certain position in the body. Is to have the correct rune that goes with that position, in your spell matrix. The downside of this method is if you have a rune matching a certain position. In your spell matrix and you place the spell matrix, in a position that doesn't match the rune. your spell matrix won't work.”

It was the right decision to come to ask for help, I don't know how long I would have been stuck if I didn't. I could literally feel the weight on my chest disappear. Letting out a breath in relief, I said: "Thank you, I can't begin to tell how much stress this spell matrix was causing me.” Tapping the head portion of the outline, He said, "It's not a problem, I'm here to help. Now while we've found the how and the why. We still need to make sure you can find the proper position, to place your spell matrix.”
With a slight scowl on his face, He said, "This isn't a technique, I would normally suggest using, but it's a start. Just don't make it a habit, or you will never develop the proper instincts and skills. Necessary to dive into the deeper depths of spellcraft. This is basically a shortcut, in matching the rune to the position in your body. All you have to do is condense this rune; first, it represents the head.” Using his finger to circle the rune, he had pointed out earlier. He said, "Than fill it with mana and let it go. It will lead you to the right position. Once it stops moving, you'll know your in the right position. Then you can condense the other runes and form your spell matrix.”
Once I got the answer, I wasted no time in getting back into the proper meditation pose. Sinking my awareness into my body, I felt the world fade away. Replaced by the flowing currents of the mana inside me. Smoothly getting my bearings, I got right to work condensing the runic image. It looked a lot like a twisted fork, by the time I was done. Folding in the mana, once it glowed fully I released it. Following it with my awareness as it traveled through the twisting currents of mana. After what felt like forever, it finally came to a stop. Using my awareness, I noticed that this position didn't look any different. From where I tried to form the spell matrix before. But I'm sure Mancin wouldn't lie to me.

Not letting the quick flash of doubt stop me. I began to condense the other runes. Once I had all the runic images condensed. I started filling each one with mana. It looked like I had a small field of stars floating in my awareness. After taking a second to enjoy the beautiful sight, I tapped into that part of me that could feel the vibrational frequency. Adjusting the frequency of each rune until I felt that perfect feeling. The spell matrix quickly began to form, as I connected each rune together. Until finally the whole spell matrix spun. Shining brightly in my awareness. I waited, holding my breath. Because I was so afraid that it would fall apart again and that this spell matrix was never going to work.
Just when I was about to be overwhelmed by doubt. The whole spell matrix released a harmonic ring and stopped moving. It worked, it really worked, I was so excited I couldn't wait to share the great news. Pulling myself from my meditation and Smiling at Mancin, as I felt my eyes start to burn. I said, "It worked! I just.. I don't have words, it's been so frustrating.” Getting up and coming around the table. Wrapping me in a bear hug and slapping me on the back. He said, "Congratulations, I know it can be hard to figure out a problem once you've hit a wall. But not only did you persevere and not give up. You had the courage to come and ask for help when you couldn't figure out the problem.”
