Jave shot up, his eyes wide.

Something felt wrong, so very wrong. He felt as if something was searching for him.

He looked around, searching for the source of his fear. But he did not see anything. Yet, the fear still remained. Every ounce of being told him to hide, to not get caught.

Not one to doubt his instincts, He ran, as fast as he could, into the land of madness. He did not care about the artifact, as the fear within him was causing him to lose all his common sense.

After hours of running through flickering landscapes, he came upon a cave. And so, he ran into it, and fell to his knees, breathing hard. The feeling had not gone away, instead, it had only gotten worse.

He forced his mind to calm down, as he knew from experience, you couldn’t fight very well when you were panicked.

Then, the fear quadrupled. His eyes widening, he looked up, to see a shadow, grinning at him with a skull in its hands. When he looked into its eyes, he felt the death within it, and all its bloodlust.

Then, he felt something wrong, pulling at his soul.

He fell down onto his knees, feeing his strength leave him. The world was beginning to become blurry, his thoughts hazy.

Just as he was about to die, he saw it’s true form, waiting to eat him whole. Unwilling to die so easily, Jave roared in defiance.

His mind lost the layer of fog it had over it, the strength returning to his muscles. Then, willing it to just die, he clenched his fists, and punched the shadow.

There was a thunderous boom as his fist connected with its head, and Jave was sent flying back.
