《Welcome to the Dungeon》Chapter 12

We went through a few different corridors. Next, we arrived at a wall with a metal circle in the middle. The queen injected her spirit power into it, and it started retracting into the wall. On the other side, there were neat lines of all kinds of treasures—weapons, armor, gems, gold, spell books, EXP shards of different denominations, and other treasures were all together.
I continued to follow the queen, and she led me to the back of the room. We went through an ordinary door into a brightly-lit room. There, two magic circles were on the floor. Around the circles, on the floor, wall, and ceiling, were numerous ruins. I spent some time looking at them in awe. They were even more complex than Keith's runes! After a few minutes gaping in awe, I returned to reality.
[Elementary Runic Techniques level up! Level four!]
I wasn't too hopeful my new skill would do anything—it would most likely be incomplete, just like the rest of them. I had mixed feelings after appraisal, though.
Draw runic lines
Mana use: differs depending on lines drawn
Description: use mana to draw elementary runic lines and imbue them with power.
I tried writing in the air with my finger, and some different-shaped lines were forming. They couldn't do anything by themselves, but it was better than the previous skills! It took about fifty mana per line, and I could draw about fifty different types, including horizontal, vertical, lines at various angles, and curved lines.
"Are you done analyzing the runes?" The queen asked.
"Yes, sorry. I was just amazed at how advanced they are."
"Since your authority is level three, I can tell you a little about them. The dungeon helped us with creating them. The circles and runes, at least at legendary rank, allow skills and spells to be transferred without the need for the expensive materials of spell books. Now, please stand on the smaller, dark purple circle."
"Come on, husband! This is fun! All fairies get skills like this!" Bella said.
I obliged the queen, stepping into the circle. Simultaneously, she stood on the bright pink circle and, immediately, my head was filled with new spells. Surprisingly, there were no system messages, so I looked at them through appraisal.

"These are the spells I can gift to you. Don't worry about the be a spirit component. With your SF, you are close enough to being a spirit. Proof of that is that you could bond with Bella. If you want, we can even help you become one of us." The queen began her explanation
"I think that's a great idea, husband!"
"I'll think about it," I responded. "What about the last skill?"
"Since you are bonded with a fairy, your spiritual energy is now closest to that of a fairy," the queen continued her explanations. "Up next are the skills."
Spiritual flight
Requirements: be a spirit
Description: flying/walking on air at will, can allow walking upwards on air to increase altitude
The first skill was like an upgraded version of my boots, since it can increase altitude. I could increase it with the skill then run quickly using the boots.
"This is the skill that lets us fly," the queen explained.
Spiritual satiety

Description: removes need for food, water, and sleep, oxygen, and air and replaces it with spiritual power
Spiritual glamor

Spiritual house
Requirements: be a spirit
Description: a small, separate dimension for use exclusively by the skill holder and bonded spirit. Provides spiritual power and can expand when skill holder's SF increases. No humans can ever enter, but other spirits can. No one else can enter.
"This skill has a secret. When you enter with Bella, she will explain it to you." Continuing, the queen surprised me, "we are currently in my spiritual realm, which connects to dungeon levels one to one hundred. With your authority, though, you can go to floor thirty if you wanted to, or any floor beneath that. Level four would be to floor seventy-five, and my authority, level five allows me to go to floor one hundred."
[gained skill spiritual key. Authority marked]
No new skill appeared on my skill list, but the queen explained before I could even ask.
"This allows you to enter here from anywhere else in the system. Additionally, you can move anywhere on any conquered floor. Now, it's time for your gift."
Spiritual memory
Description: passive skill for spirits. Infinite memory and retrieval capabilities. Prevents memory editing or analysis without consent. Allows removing, adding, or editing memories of others in any way skill holder wishes
"Your gift is given usually to high-level spirits. Just like the other spiritual skills and spells, it has no level. It does, however, affect your memory. Bella has it too."
"Thank you, then, Queen." I bowed as I responded.
"No need to do that. I'm your mother in law." The queen said.
"Hey, husband, why don't we go to our new house now?"
"New house?" I questioned before remembering the spiritual house. I activated the skill, and we were both transported to a small, grassy plain. There were a small yard and a two-story house there.
"Now that we're here, I can tell you the secret," Bella said. "The demons next to your soul can't come in here. It's only us."
She kissed be on the forehead.
"And, now, that it's sealed with a kiss, they won't interrupt our conversation. Please, be careful around them. I don't trust them"
"Don't worry, Bella; I will be," I responded with a kiss of my own. "Let's make a stop on the second floor and meet my friend."
As I said this, a map of the second floor appeared in front of me. I quickly figured out how to navigate to the underground, so I did, and we arrived in front of the goblin chieftain.
"Welcome back, young explorer. It must have been tough to make it back through the floor. Now, you'll have to go back again before reaching the third floor. The new hobgoblin lord is nicer and keeps to his own designated area, so there aren't any issues."
The chieftain started talking as soon as I entered.
"Oh, how did you get level three authority? Level two was already rare, but even I can't grant level three! I'm only level four myself. I can't even read your explorer ID."
"I had some help. I also want to thank you and Mercury for helping me get past this floor," I said while taking out a curse apple. "Please give this to her. I hope it'll help."
"Such strong curse in this apple, it may work. Thank you."
"Your welcome. Before we leave, I would like to introduce you to my wife."
"And where would she be? You know, even if I like you, I am forbidden from leaving the dungeon."
"She's right next to me. You can't see her?"
"Wait, you can see her? You're even more overpowered than I thought. First, you defeat the lord, and, now, you can even see spirits without requiring their consent! You even married her!"
"Hello, Mr. Isaac," Bella said while hiding behind me.
"Hello, Princess Isabella. Congratulations on your marriage."
"Thank you very much. Please continue to treat us well," Bella said
"Isaac, so that's your name. You never told me. And I take it you're already acquainted?"
"How much do you know? With your authority, you must at least know a little about the fairies. When they find issues on this floor, they bring them to me. I am in charge of this floor, so they alert me out of courtesy. I also send some of my most talented goblins along when I need to. Over the centuries, I have met many fairies."
"Centuries? Bella's that old?!" I asked
"No, she's pretty young," he responded while Bella blushed. "She's only twenty. She just started doing missions on her recent birthday."
"Well, I love you, Bella, so I wouldn't care either way."
"I love you, too, Roberto. I'm glad my age isn't of concern to you," she replied.
"Then you must be on the third floor by now. The orcs are tough opponents. I wish you luck, but you may have already defeated them. I wouldn't be surprised if you were stuck, like many, on the fifth floor's boss by now! Wait, don't tell me you already defeated the snakes."
"Mmmister Isaac, please let me tell him when the time comes," Bella said while stuttering and trying to stick up for herself.
"OK, I'll leave you to it. If you do pass by the great orc that plays around up there, give him my regards. As a present for your wedding, I'll send somebody on up and tell them to keep the goblin nobles and hobgoblin lords up there away from you. They like intermixing with the orcs, but with my order, they shouldn't be an issue."
"Goodbye, Isaac," I said, waving as Bella and I returned to our room.
We decided that we'd spend the night here before challenging the orcs the next day. It was odd, at first, for me to share a bed with someone, but, since we are married, I guessed it was only natural for us to. We soon fell asleep comfortably in each other's arms.
In the morning we decided to show each other our stats screens. When I did so, I noticed my wisdom had skyrocketed due to the memory skill yesterday!

So that I didn't have any surprises, Isabella mostly showed me the skills and magic we both had in common. She was worried the dungeon wouldn't like it if she told me too much. Looking at her own status, she was just as surprised as I was when we saw heavenly affinity. It must have been through the bond!

The spiritual severance skill, she explained, removed spiritual attachments but was too complex for me to master. The peaceful ambiance was similar to what it sounded like. It made the atmosphere peaceful.
We got dressed in new clothes. My clothes are always in the warehouse, and she had brought all of hers to our new home.
As it was already August sixteenth, I didn't have too much more time until my parents returned and they expected me as well. I wanted to get through as much of this floor as possible.
We proceeded through the newly-made door in the mountainous room and arrived in a new room. There were multiple pillars made of stones and metals extending into the sky. On the floor, there were broken tiles and dust. Looking around, I sensed many enemies. They were all in pairs of two, walking around in predetermined patterns.
We continued forward from our current position and soon encountered the first group of orcs.
"I'll take the one on the left, and you take the one on the right. Okay?" I asked
"K. Let's go!" Bella responded.
We split up, and I tried > with blackmail at the first orc. The slash barely made a dent in its thick skin. Narrowly dodging its club, I backed away. I tried appraising the club, and I saw it was not a goblin club but a wooden orc club. I thought my best bet of beating this orc was to disable its weapon first. While I thought that, Bella had already finished her work.
"Need some help?" she asked.
"I want to try this on my own. I'll let you know if I need you."
"K."
I then squared off against the orc again. This time, I imbued electricity into Blackmail. My aim was the club, and my sword was able to make a dent into it. I next imbued fire, and my sword grew red hot, finally melting through the wood enough for it to break.
The orc didn't waste a second and tried to punch me. I didn't think I could block it, so I > and backed away. I tried fire again with my sword, but it didn't go too much further in. I wanted to see if I could imbue it with spirit force and if that would work.
I started thinking of my spiritual force, flowing from me into Blackmail. While I tried to do so, Blackmail changed from a black sword to a pure white one. From a pure white sword, it became like a translucent crystal, except the silver edge it held.
[basic magic sword I has unlocked new evolution path. Sword evolution changed to basic spiritual sword I. Sharpness increased. Mana use decreased by 5. Gained additional attribute: [spiritual synergy]: spiritual power can be stored into the sword and used by the wielder in varying ways.]
[system notice: change of sword is not an evolution in rank of the sword but a horizontal transition from one sword type to another.]
At least it gained a new attribute. I added spiritual force into the sword again and it started shining. Slashing into the orc, it went deeper in; it let out a roar as it backed up. I continued my attack with a >, getting into this battle. I sent a fireball towards it, but I already knew it was a feint and wouldn't work. The smoke created served to blind the orc, while my demon eyes made me unaffected.
I > > the orc in the stomach. It didn't die, so I tried its head. Its forehead was weaker than I thought. With the wounds I already gave it, one attack to its head finished it off, dropping an EXP shard.
The roar seemed to bring the next closest orc team towards us. They both had clubs. Bella and I continued our previous fighting strategy. This time, I was ready for the fight. Before the orc could swing at me, I swung first with blackmail infused with spiritual force. I > > its stomach. It stumbled back from me, and I used the opportunity to > Blackmail into its head. It got stuck, but it wouldn’t finish it off. I used the demon eye's > part to momentarily stun the orc. I then used my new flight ability to step atop the sword. The orc wasn't able to finish me off, as I was almost on its head. I jumped up and ended the flight, bringing my weight down on the sword. Finally, it disappeared.
"Husband, I've got an EXP shard if you want it."
"That's okay, Bella. You can keep it."
"Are you sure you don't need it? With my increased drop rate skill, I can get more if you want it."
"What's that skill?"
"It increases the rate at which EXP shards and other items come out during battles. Since it is at level 5, I am 50% more likely to get a drop. I got one EXP shard from the first orc, so you should take the second."
"If you insist," I replied, taking the shard and kissing her.
"Thank you for accepting my gift, honey. I've got a surprise for you! Follow me!"
I proceeded to follow her. We arrived at a circular area, surrounded by eight pillars.
"This is the room which leads to this floor's elemental source. Just go down the stairs."
"What stairs?"
"Look again."
I followed her directions and noticed that the circle had become a spiral staircase. As I stepped into the center of the circle, the eight columns lit up. I proceeded to enter the underground space. In front of me was a small passage. On the other side of the passage, I was in a small dirt room. There was a single orb there.
"Interesting. You found the mud orb all by yourself." Seere spoke.
"Mud orb?" I asked
"It's part of the pure elemental ground. You now need stone, sand, grovel, and ash." Amon responded.
They then went back to being silent as a small cloud appeared, which I somehow knew was part of the heavenly source that was widespread throughout the entire dungeon. Both the orb and cloud scanned me, raising their respective affinities by ten percent. I was surprised that heavenly affinity still went up, even though it was already at one hundred thirty percent.
Walking back up, I saw Bella caught in a fight between six orcs. Two noticed me and came towards me. Worried about Bella, who seemed to be struggling, and two more orcs coming towards us, I began to chant the normal absolute frost. Once it was cast, I ran towards her and helped her quickly defeat the six within a few seconds. The two coming after us before were regaining their senses, and they charged. Using the same tactic as our first two fights, we were able to win. Of the eight defeated, there were three MP recovery potions and one EXP shard. Bella said she also defeated six more while I was away, with three dropping MP recovery potions and one an EXP shard.
We each took one EXP shard, and I took the recovery potions since she relied on her spiritual force to fight. Her sword was even entirely made of spirit force. According to her, it was another of her skills, spiritual weapon, that could turn into any kind of weapon made out of spirit force.
"Once you get the required one thousand experience points, I'll teach it to you," she said.
"I'm already at eight hundred fifty. Pretty soon, I'll take you up on your offer. You know, we make a great team you and me."
"Of course we do. I'll lead you to the pure elemental sources of each floor that I know about. K? I love you."
"K. I love you too, Bella." I'm beginning to even speak like her, a little.
There were four orcs, and we took the remaining time left in the day to defeat them. Retiring back into our house for the night, I slowly recovered my MP through the environment, and we both restored our SP, although she was faster thanks to both spiritual drain and her large recovery. As I was watching her spiritual force move into her, my SF regeneration level increased all the way to medium level three! It was definitely faster, now.
Dirty from our orc fighting, we decided to take a bath together. The bath was a lot of fun. We even had a water fight! After getting dried off from our bath, we both went straight into our bed. We didn't sleep at first and stayed up for a while talking about our lives and joking around. Since I'm mostly a loner and don't associate with most people, it was a different experience for me to have such a conversation. It was enjoyable, and I was glad I could talk to her so much. She just kept going and going.
Like the night previous, we fell asleep in each other's embrace. In the morning, we got dressed and were ready to fight. I didn't know what the next room would bring, but I knew, as long as I was with Bella, I would be able to win easily against any enemy I may face.

8 116Grey [HIATUS]
I was originally fueled by anger and disdain to write this and looking back, most of what I wrote for this story was unplanned and a bit trashy. I kinda stopped having ideas for this, so I stopped in the end. If you're looking at this right now, you probably shouldn't read this because it's only 12 crappy chapters in and yeah... Sorry to the people who might've liked this. (Maybe one day I'll continue this, but for now, I have other plans) Grey, a prince, is unsure about what to do when he starts running away from an enemy beast tamer. He's unsure on what to do now that his father, the king, is dead. In the forest alone, he'll discover a small companion and a rogue. Together will they figure a way to take back Grey's kingdom? Or will they just die in vain? Let's be honest here, most of you probably like the fox aspect of the story the most. (BTW the cover design is made by me. Terrible, I know) I'm kind of done with writing bs descriptions that I might change in the future, plus I'm not very good with being thoughtful with quotes and stuff like that. I just write what pops into my mind, which is usually stupid things. So the description may or may not be accurate so I've changed it to being very vague.
