《Upon Blazing Wings》Author Introduction
Advertisement
Hey everyone! Now that the introductory arc is over, I thought I’d take some time to introduce myself, talk about what the expect from his book, and discuss the next arc.
But first, I’d like to thank you, the readers, for all the support you’ve given me so far!
Chapter 5 will be posted shortly after this. It’s a bit wordy and slow in order to properly set up the next arc. Hopefully I can get chapter 6 out by today and possibly chapter 7 as well.
Who am I?
I’m currently a student at the University of Notre Dame. I’m pretty new the the web novel/light novel scene having started reading back in August of this year. I’ve actually never written fiction in my life before, so this will be a new experience.
Why did I choose to write a novel?
It was partially because I wanted to test myself and partially because I was bored. Plus it’s always fun to engage in a hobby you like. I have many reasons as to why I chose xianxia as my genre. The most important reason is simply due to the fact that it’s my favorite type of novel so far. In addition, I always really enjoyed the society and culture that was unique to xianxia novels. The tropes are completely different than say American or Japanese media. Not to mention it seemed easier to write than a high fantasy story or a modern-day story.
What should the readers expect from this novel?
Currently as it stands, it takes me around 4 hours to write 2,000 words--a pace that I hopefully can speed up as I practice more. I generally take another 30 minutes to edit the entire thing. Based on this duration, I plan on releasing roughly a single chapter a day until mid-January when the spring semester begins for college. After that we’ll just have to see how it goes.

I don’t plan on taking events from other xianxia novels and just rewriting them in my own way. Like most authors, I’d like to make my novel unique. There are many ideas I’ve considered implementing, but either way I need to build up the foundation of my story first.
What’s the next arc going to be like?
So the first real arc will be the sect arc. There are many tasks I’d like to accomplish in this arc including:
Refining the MCs personality
Explain more about the world, the various realms, and the current geopolitical situation
Introduce more characters, especially female characters
Events to prove how awesome the MC is
Major life-changing events that shape the MCs desires
None of this is set in stone though.
Anyway once again, thank you all for reading my story. I’ll continue to try my best to write high quality chapters.

I'm still writing the entirety of Volume 2. WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter

Words I Left Unsaid
"Like a treasure map in a bottle, We were slowly drifting apart, Mother Nature sailing our purpose out to sea, The more I got to know you, I realised how much of a hoax your devotion was, Almost as fake as the smile I paint across my shattered face."This collection of poetry releases trauma in the form of expression - mainly the words I could never build up the courage to say. Most of these poems present conflict of the mind and allude to mental health struggles, which may be relatable to a certain community of people.Ranks -#3 in poem#3 in poembook#8 in poetry collection #7 in sadpoems#6 in poemcollection #7 in wisdom #15 in poetic
