《God of Evolution》Chapter 2: Dual World Cultivation

Lucius panted heavily, his Endurance and Vitality had dropped by a few points and his miserably weak body couldn't exactly handle the fatigue. His knuckles were bloodied and his ribs were bruised from the tight hold. Still none of that mattered because Lucius had achieved his first Level up. In his old world death followed him wherever he went, he knew the longer he was a mortal the more death would surround him, love would only end in violence and hope would turn into suffering. The only way to overcome death and sadness is to become an immortal and so Lucius spent his years overcoming obstacles in his way and had almost achieved his dream of becoming a god that ignores such trivial things as death. Yet he was placed in this world, he wasn't sad because darkness had already taken that emotion, he wasn't longing to return because everything to go back to was already ashes years ago. Instead he was angry that he lost the power that he cultivated, the power he would use to overcome all these emotions he hates so much. Lucius already once tried to cast aside his emotions and yet anger, hatred, unwillingness, greed and selfishness remained. Now in this world where only dark emotions were festering he felt.... Excited. Perhaps it was his destiny to accumulate power and then lose it. Over and over again, but that wouldn't stop him from becoming unrivalled and ascending to a place where he can finally escape. Death was easy, living and training to become a god was impossible and yet after this level up he was one step closer to achieving his dream in this new world. Lucius had finally regained some of his humanity, well it's more accurate to say that he regained the human emotion of wanting to fight, to battle stronger opponents to become stronger himself. Caution would always cloud his mind but now if he faced strength he would reply with power in return.
Lucius opened his status menu, what appeared in front of him was some text that made him feel a mix of emotions, that he couldn't quite understand.
[Level 2 reached!
- Upon reaching level 2 you may choose a Potential and Talent enhancing award.
Choose Reward:
• Dragon Blood
• Soul Emerging Pill
• Dual World Cultivation]
Lucius wasn't sure what any of these rewards were per say but they all looked mystical in their own way. 'Dragon Blood would probably allow me to evolve into a Human/Bloodeater/Dragon Hybrid which would definitely make me several times stronger. I'm not sure what the other two rewards are maybe I should just choose the blood.' As if the system heard Lucius' inquiry a description was displayed for the two other rewards.
[• Soul Emerging Pill
Increase your spirit power to the upper limits of your current evolution
• Dual World Cultivation
Transfer consciousness between two bodies in two different world's.]
The soul pill was definitely the greatest way to improve one's potential, the spirit power capacity gained could be enormous depending on the evolution, however Lucius was solely focusing on the Dual World Cultivation reward.
'Can I get more information on the last reward?' Lucius eagerly questioned the system hoping that he was right in thinking it understood him, Unsurprisingly a new interface was shown.

[• Dual World Cultivation
Your body will exist both in this world and another of your choosing, they will be separate bodies but also the same, everything will be shared. Control will transfer every time you lose consciousness, however time will not flow for one body whilst in the other. When control is transferred again you will resume your previous unconsciousness.]
Lucius stared at the description for a god few minutes, perhaps surprise had made him faint standing up and yet he still seemed awake.
"Haha haha haha I'm going to return, return to my old world, I will start over but I do not care. There is a sure fire way for me to become a god and if I'm persistent enough I could be a God in two world's, I shall be a Lord of Evolution and an expert in the Divine God Realm." Lucius was happy, thrilled, joyful, for a moment he felt all the emotions he had locked away flow back In. He could now get stronger in two world's, he could return and complete unfinished business and explore a new world side by side.
With a thought Dual World Cultivation was chosen as his reward, with this Lucius could strengthen himself quicker, after all he knew the ins and outs of cultivating in his old world.
[Dual World Cultivation Chosen]
[Select Alternate World]
A long list of world's appeared in front of Lucius, he scrolled through the air for a minute straight and was still in the A category, he could imagine how hard it would be to choose a decent world at random. So Lucius thought of his old world in his head, Pavarion. A world of beauty and foulness alike, a land that worshipped the strong and killed off the weak, a world that Lucius would return to.
As if the system and interface knew what world Lucius wished for the screen suddenly changed to a world with several locations mapped.
On the World Lucius recognised most of the continents and countries, only most of them because there were several foreign lands mapped that never existed, this made Lucius frown, he was sure that there weren't just undiscovered countries, they simply never existed.
'It is possible that it took over a thousand years for me to be reborn which would mean Pavarion would have changed drastically. Well that doesn't really matter, even if it has changed I still have the home advantage. Alright lets select this world.' Lucius chose his second world and the screen disappeared, he would only have to sleep to go back now.
The system was not going to rest though as a new screen popped up printing even more information.
[Reinforced Bloodeater Evolution unlocked]
[Proceed?]
After feasting on the reanimated apparition it made Lucius' evolution advance a stage, he would no longer be a fledgling Bloodeater but a reinforced one, there was a chance that he would resemble the skeleton if he accepted, but from the name it seemed the evolution was favouring the Bloodeater over the apparition.
Lucius thought it over and decided he may as well accept, even if he turned into a skeleton he would be welcomed in this tomb, and when he got to Pavarion he could just eat a person and then become more humanoid again, well there would be a chance that wouldn't work.

The screen once again disappeared and light shrouded Lucius in a blinding mist, then he felt like every bone in his body was breaking, slowly and painfully a bone would crack, rotate, break apart and then reform. This happened for at least two hours, Lucius kept conscious the entire time, not that he wanted to just the blood curdling screaming and bone wrenching pain wouldn't stop. For a six year old body that was much smaller than an adult the pain was already mind shattering, Lucius shuddered at the thought of doing that in adulthood. The initial breaking he could handle but shattering, rotating and then reforming before starting the process again was just unbearable.
With his body finally soothing and relaxing Lucius opened up his Status menu.

Looking at his ever growing strength Lucius was feeling content. He guessed that it wouldn't be so easy to reach high levels but for now these Reanimated creatures would do just fine to help him advance. After a while he slowly felt his fatigue fade, with his Endurance and Vitality at the max Lucius felt he could fight another ten of those undead skeletons.
With his energy returned he got up and continued down the passage way, however eager he was to return to Pavarion, he needed to grow as much as possible in this world first. Once he crossed over Lucius was certain he would keep his skills and so if he were to level up Rebirths Rage then cultivating would be almost too easy. Well it would only really remove the need to meditate, he still would need to use herbs, pills and gain battle experience otherwise his new body would never be as good as the old. The thing troubling Lucius' mind right now though was how good would his cultivating talent be in his new body. Thinking realistically a body born outside the land of Pavarion would have absolutely no talent to cultivate. In his old life he was known as the Heavenly Death Lord, the Sovereign of the Sword. Born to a powerful clan with the best talent in several millennia he progressed rapidly through the realms, he became a threat to the world so everyone who even looked upon him died, whether it was by his own hands or another's. Now Lucius would have no background, no home and honestly he felt that would be better at least then he won't have to lose anyone again due to the simple fact he was born to be a God. In his last life he had the luck to have divine talent he could only hope his luck hadn't run out, either way as long as he had even the smallest amount of martial power with time he would ascend all the same.
The passageway was a snake twisting every now and again making Lucius think that it would go on forever, he encountered a couple Reanimated Apparitions and found it much easier to fight them, with his strengthened bones his hits were more powerful and with a large increase in vitality it wasn't difficult in the least to knock the skeletons over where he would feast on them after which he would smash their skulls.
[Immortuos Bone obtained]
A sudden message appeared after Lucius killed another undead, he obtained a new item after killing it showing him that these creatures gave him something more than just experience to level up.
Equipment:
Immortuos Bone - A sharp bone knife imbued with dark magic to make it harder than metal
Lucius had finally obtained a weapon, it looked like a knife in all ways except it's bone structure, dark particles also drifted across its surface showcasing the dark magic that resided within. When Lucius struck it against the undead on the floor a concave was left where the bone cut.
' So this bone is slightly stronger than the apparitions making it probably even more sturdy than a usual sword. This bone could be wielded well as a dagger to use alongside my high agility. Moreover if I apply enough strength this weapon will be capable of killing without fail, humans and undead creatures alike.' Lucius would definitely find this bone useful for now, a strong dagger was hard to come by but this bone suited just fine.
After walking for a while longer Lucius found another room attached to the passage, he had been walking for an extended period of time and felt drained after so many fights, although the system said his Endurance was full, his body sure as shit didn't feel it. Opening the door Lucius was ready to fight with his blade in one hand and the demon eye trailing closely behind.
What entered his vision was a similar room to what he could only call his birthplace, a small dent in the floor where a strange liquid gathered with several dead bodies surrounding it. Lucius was unnaturally drawn to the liquid, it was black in colour and had a purple tint that made it look royal and majestic. Lucius felt he was losing himself, entranced by the liquid. A drunken psychedelic feeling overwhelmed him and he collapsed to his knees, slowly crawling towards the liquid. His usual scarlet eyes became a deep crimson and veins around his eyes bulged. Falling down into the pit he felt warmth embracing his body, some of the liquid splashed into his mouth and with it unimaginable pleasure came. Lucius felt the delicious and inviting feeling for only a few seconds before he slowly faded into unconsciousness.
