《Where My Demons Lie (Fairy Tail SI)》The Start of Something New

What to choose? If I could choose any ability, what would I choose? I have magic, right? What else would I choose? It's magic. So the best choice would be to get an ability that can help me both short term and long term. Maybe I can choose an elemental ability? I don't know the rules of the magic here but elemental magics are a staple in fantasy so It's a good place to start. No that wouldn't be good. They are too specialized. All it would take to defeat me is to get a wizard that can use the opposite element. Like using Water if had I chosen Fire. Who knows if they have magic here or not. Though it would be cool to control lightning, if I get the right ability, I could do that and more. Hell, even without magic, we've been able to use electricity for everyday use. ...Wait, a second...that could...that could actually work. "I have a question," I asked Pride, who had sat to read a book as I contemplated. He was much calmer now but I wasn't going to take any chances yet. He currently had all the pieces in the palm of his hand. I'm going to have to wait until I can get into a better situation before I could test him. I'm going to get home, whether he helps me or not. "And what would that be? Is it a gag so I won't have to hear your barking anymore? Or maybe a collar to tie around your neck. Maybe I should give the leash to one of those insects at the tower. They are already dragging you around the place." A tower? What tower? Is that where I am? "If I were to use Enchantments, Would I be able to do transmutation?" Enchantment were way too overpowered if you thought about it, they can practically alter reality if done right. I merely asked for transmutation to see if I could replicate elemental magic. Just look at FMA for a reference. If they can do that, they have a higher chance to do much more. Rest assured that transmutation will only be the starting point. If I can do his right, I can escape the place without none the wiser. Though knowing my luck, that won't happen. Pride snorted at my question, turning a page in his book"Of course it can. Enchantment magic is your choice?" I nodded my head "Yeah, it can do so many things and I'd rather not be limited by one type of magic." You know those times when you think you see something? Like a mouse darting around in the corner of your eye. Pride had a smirk on his face. Not unusual if you know him, even if I had only known him for hours. However, this one wasn't a sneer of disgust. This one was one of, and I know how this sounds, pride. He quickly hid it though, maybe he saw my expression since his face set back into it's defined preset of a sneer. "I have already given you the contents of the book." He did? But I don't see it. He pointed towards a gold-laced wooden door that I hadn't noticed until now. It was built into one of the bookcases as if the door had expended from within the spaces of the books. Above the door was the recurring symbol that I've seen around the place. Though what stuck out to me was what was written on the door. 'Akira _'s sanctuary.' I have a sanctuary? What's that supposed to be? And is that spaced supposed to be my second name? I looked over to pride to see that he had already gone back to his book. I shrugged my shoulders at the display. If he wasn't annoying me, I don't really give a shit about what he does. I'm also very intrigued by this 'sanctuary'. So with a not so cautious step, I walked through the door. Huh. You know I thought Pride was an asshole but I guess he isn't as bad as I thought. There was a desk that had been pushed to the wall with a hefty stack of blank papers upon it, with a case of pens beside it. A large comfortable chair had been placed by the desk. The floor had a really nice carpet that felt good on my bare feet with a bright chandelier above my head. The last thing I noticed was the mostly empty bookcase that had the same qualities as the other ones in the library. When I say mostly empty, I mean that there was only one row of books filled. The books there were glowing a soft blue. They were all about the same subject, each with its own specialisation. 'Book of enchantment: Basics' 'Book of enchantment: Intermediate' The list went on and on. There were two starter packs, for a lack of better terms, and there were four different categories that stem off of the work of the first two. Warding, Sealing, Advanced Attributes and, what I asked for, Transmutation. What stuck out to me was the 'Advanced Attributes'. They might suggest that there is something to do with attributes within the two basic books. Luckily these books don't look so large so maybe I can knock out the basics of the basics books before I leave. ...And go back there. It's been at the back of mind but how come I'm fine right now? I know I've had that small panic attack but I don't count that since I've easily dismissed it. I don't have any wounds on my body at all either. It makes me fear of what happens after I leave, or wake up, if that's the right term. I took a deep breath and grabbed the basics book. Let's not focus on the negatives and focus on the positives. Magic. Real Fucking Magic There's no way I'm letting Pride get the satisfaction of seeing me like this. I can see him holding it above my head for the rest of time. What do I know of Pride anyway? Actually, I'm going to write it down, if this works how I want then it'll be much better this way. I grabbed a piece of paper and watched how the stack had regenerated itself. That's cool. Pride Cares about his appearances and of those around him - Evident of the body he (allegedly) gave me and his own. Lets not also forget all the gold as well. He likes to feel superior- That's a given considering he's called Pride. He likes to use the term 'dog' a lot. As well as any other variants. He is smart, scarily so - If I ever have anything over him, I will only use it once before discarding it. He likes to mess around - he talks about being amused a lot. That's what set me off. He, at least somewhat, honest- I don't think he's lied to me. He doesn't see me as a threat to lie to. He's somewhat fair, well to his own rules- he rewarded me for agreeing with him. That last one is the trickiest one to deal with. If I go along with it, I'll practically be a willing slave an actually...dog, wagging my tail for the next treat. I got to remember not to go with it, only use his generosity to gain boons for myself without any drawbacks. I had written that last part as a reminder. Not just to me but to Pride himself. He will see this no doubt about it and deem it to be a challenge. The aspect of making me into his lapdog after calling me one this whole time. This, in turn, will make him give me better stuff more frequently to turn me to his side. The good thing about this… ...he'll know the whole time. That will both infuriate and amuse him. The former for my own amusement and the latter for my safety. I figured that he would like some change in reading to have this cat and mouse game. It's something I adore and something I know he will from what I know of him. One of the many reasons why I love Code Geass and Death Note. To win something that had taken you time and effort to do is a burst of joy that anyone can attest to. I don't know right now but with the way, he's always in the library when I see him, granted it's only been two times so I need to test it out, he seems lonely. That just works in my favour, boosting the likelihood of what I want to happen. And with that done, I put away the piece of paper into one of the draws of the desk. It was conveniently a filing one as well. I turned my gaze to the book, not needing to hold back my excitement, and opened it. Introduction This is the first book of the set of 'Enchantments' series. This will teach you the fundamentals of Enchanting and be a gateway to specialization, with the help of the next book. After learning how to manipulate your magic… Wait a goddamn second. I don't know how to do that. How do I do that? Do I need to look deep within myself and somehow unlock it without knowing what it's supposed to be like? *Cough* I wasn't insulting anyone… I promise. Goddamn it. I'll continue reading for now and come back to do practical applications. ...You will now be able to start the basics of Enchanting. Unlike most Magics, Enchantments does not need an affinity to work at its utmost ability. An affinity? I wonder what mine is? Instead, you will need a healthy understanding of a language to work with when enchanting. Where most magics can be powered by emotions, Enhancements is one of the few magic that doesn't work on that spectrum. That' bullshit. I wanted some Power of Friendship powerup. I'm joking. Hopefully, It's nothing like that when I see other wizards. It'll make life so much harder. (Oh, I feel so sorry for him. Teehee.) This magic is based on how much time and effort you put into the Enchantment. This magic has the big drawback of not being able to create large enchantments in combat until some mastery has been gained. These need to be created without being affected by residue magic, lest they are activated without being finished. I skimmed a few pages of text as I had seen this kind of stuff within other stories. Basically it was summarized into: Don't create enhancements that are liable to be activated midway of creating them - You never know what might happen with a halfway done enchantment. Most enchantment wizards are support based as they can buff and debuff - sorry but I don't stay on the sidelines. Keep your discoveries safe from other people - once people figure out how your enchantments work, it's only a matter of time before you are defeated These seemed to be good rules to follow, they even scenarios that could happen should you not follow them. Other small stuff was written but they basically common sense so I didn't want to write them down. Analysis This chapter will give you headfirst into Enhancements. We will be talking about the analysis of the objects you want to enchant. You see, one of the most problems an Enchanter will face is the conflict of enchantments. For example, Trying to make water solid. Water is a liquid so what most early Enchanters would do is try to add the solid enchantment onto it. Having an item be a solid and a liquid will not work and will break the enchantment. Noticing this would then get the Enchanter to change the liquid aspect into a solid. This, in turn, leads me to my next problem with enhancers. They are not creative enough to use enchantments to their full potential. Yes, you can change the water into a solid however this will need a consent enchantment to keep up as water is not meant to have a solid, Ice is. Another, and personally what I deem is a better way, is that you can also freeze the water and take away the slippery aspect of ice. This will not only need less magic and take less time to come into effect but it will also take less effort to make as you are just invoking a natural occurrence. That leads me to my final part before I get to the part you have been waiting for. It is much easier to create enchantments that work with the laws of nature than against. That doesn't mean you can't do it but it'll be much harder to do so. It'll be better for you to wait till you specialize in at least one aspect before you try to make some reality bedding enchantments. Now time for the first spell. This spell is not an enchantment however it is too useful for any enchanter to not know. I have recently come across this skill after seeing it so I doubt it is worldwide, this would be better to keep to a close group of your trusted allies. It is called 'Structural Analysis'. It is a spell used to take the information of an object and record it within one's brain. It will be one of the most useful abilities an enchanter could have. Warning: Too much information in one go can cause the user brain damage. Structural analysis? Wait does that mean, I'm in the Nasuverse? Oh, shit. I'm going to die a horrible death. I'm a wizard with a library of magic in my head. I'm going to be eaten up by every magus alive to get in here. Goddamn it, I close the book with a sigh. Getting my hopes up all for nothing. I think that's a good place to stop, the next part is the spell and I currently don't know how to manipulate my mana so that won't work. Now...let's get back into the real world. I stood up from my desk and laid my notes down. With a spring in my step, I pushed the door that led me back into the library. Huh? Why is it not opening? Is a pull instead? Nope… And this is what I get for trusting pride. "OPEN THE DOOR FUCKER" I screamed, kicking the door "I know you hear me." Pride watched as Akira walked through into his sanctuary. "I knew he was going to ask for magic but to choose 'Enchantments'. At Least He has the tact of learning something useful." "Are you complimenting someone? My, My are you getting soft?" "We both know it wasn't." Pride's smirk turned to a low growl. "Plus, I've told you many times before that you aren't allowed here…"He turned around. "...Envy." If Pride was unnaturally handsome, she was unnaturally beautiful. Soft and luscious black hair that fell to her lower back. Bright blue eyes that seemed to glow. A small smile on her lips. She had no need for makeup. Her figure wasn't any better and she knew it. A strapless black dress that fell past her feet yet never seeming to impede her. The dress was low enough to show a lot of cleavage and she enhanced it by crossing her arms underneath it, push it up. It was tight on her body showing all its curves. A slit going down the side of her dress showed off her long stocking-cased leg. Pride raised an eyebrow at her "Who are you trying to impress?" She giggled "You've invited someone here to your library and I'm here to make a first good impression." "Right,..." He snorted "...I thought so. He wasn't invited, I found him and brought him here." "So you saved him? You really are getting soft." "You're jumping to conclusions." "You're not even going to try to deny it?" She asked, a confused expression on her face. "Why would I do that? You'll find out eventually what really happened eventually, you have an uncanny way of finding things out, Envy." "Guilty as charged. Though I must say, He smells positively delightful." She took a deep breath. "Much better than a normal human. Makes me want to grab him and gobble him whole." "You aren't eating him." Pride stated firmly which made Envy look at him with barely hidden amusement. "Him? And here I thought you would have added a human to your harem of wives?" She replied. "Sometimes you need to get away from all the women." "Is that so?" She looked around the library until her eyes gazed upon the door Pride mad for Akira, a surge of anger flowing through her. "A sanctuary?! Does that mean-" "No, never, not him. Not for him." Pride interrupted, his own anger flaring "I told you that I won't do it so why would I do it for him of all people?" Envy's smile had turned into a sultry smirk, her hips swaying as she placed a hand on Pride's chest. "If only I could kill you, that would make all of this so much easier." "The feeling's mutual however it will be against the rules. It's the only thing keeping you alive" Pride's hand went around her waist. "Is that so?" She stepped closer, grabbing Pride's tie and pulled down, bringing her lips to his ear "The day you beg me to forgive you for your ignorance and foolishness will come, whether you like it or not." she hissed, licking his ear as she pulled away. "And the day you are on your knees begging for my help is slowly arriving. I wonder…" he rubbed his wet ear with a napkin from his packet "...which will come first." Envy clicked her teeth at his reply but didn't say anything. "Now if that is all you wanted, you may leave. I'd prefer if the dog didn't meet you." This time it was Envy's turn to smile, "We both know that it's inevitable. Make sure to keep him safe till we meet. I wonder if he tastes as good as he smells." Pride didn't reply, only opted to watch her hips sway as she left the room. He turned his gaze back onto Akira's door. "He just makes life more and more troublesome for me." The door smashed open, showing a furious Akira. "Why the hell was that door closed?!" Where my Demons Lie Pride didn't say anything, disappearing from my view as I blinked, leaving me here alone. Piece of shit. Who does he think he is? I headed straight for the door to the outside, my anger slowly increasing. Where my demons lie
