《Vienna's Game》Chapter 6

Phew, oh boy that was scary. Seriously, I can’t believe he would believe all those lies about me. What a stupid idiot, I bet even my students could lie better than that then again, they are teenagers and they are probably professionals at lying…
Being led by this strange man to a “hidden church” is a bit sketchy, but I have to keep it cool. The people of this world who summoned here think I am one of the strongest beings in this world. I cannot believe I was living my dream of getting isekai’d into another world. I wonder if I am as strong as they say I am.
That would make things less interesting though, in light novels like this, overpowering makes tension less boring because everything can be solved by brute force. I would rather use my other strongest muscle, which is my brain!
Using my brain to solve things is what will make me feel accomplished as a teacher! I can finally show my students that school is worth sinking their time into. If I can find any of my students in this world. Who knows if they got reincarnated with me, or if they did get reincarnated, would they still be even human?
They could have been reincarnated as a slime, or a spider, or a demon, or maybe even as an elf?! Being reincarnated as anything of those things would make them impossible to track. That is assuming I can survive long enough to track them down…
For now, I have to ensure my safety. I trust that my students can survive on their own without any problems. Do not worry kids, your teacher is coming to save you!
I glanced at Minister Juniper. His blue eyes seemed tired as if he was losing sleep over something. I noticed that he had some strands of white hair in his perfectly blond head. His skin was fair, and the outfit he wore reminded me of the generic armor knights would wear in those 5/10 fantasy Anime.

I glanced back at my arms. My skin was purely pale white, with some hints of color at my fingertips. I brushed my hair towards the front of my body with my hands and stared at them. My hair felt silky smooth, which was totally how it felt back in my previous life. Anyways, my hair seemed to be as white as my skin. I wonder what my eye color is like…
I looked back at Minister Juniper and shuttered at the thought of talking to him. Like seriously, how are you supposed to talk to people? If I remember correctly, western society usually fills in silent moments like this with a conversation, but how could I talk to a man, who is probably twice my age, and way taller than me?
When I glanced back at the floor, I noticed Minister Juniper looking at me without turning his head.
“Tell me spirit, what was your life before you got summoned?”
“W-what?”
“Do I need to repeat my question?”
“N-no, it's fine. I just didn’t expect you to ask that kind of question… my life, my life was great, I guess.”
“Great you say? Can you elaborate?”
Crap, I cannot give away information about my previous life that easily, like how am I going to explain what body pillows are like? How can I explain my piles of BL mangas? How can I even explain that I was a teacher? Think, Vienna, Think…
“I lived a life watching people fall in love, and support them, whenever I could.”
“So, you were a spirit that helped people fall in love?”
“You could say that.”
“I don’t know if that is a blessing or curse, for the High King to have bounded himself to you.”

“What do you mean?”
“Let’s just say his majesty used to get around back in the days…”
“So how many wives does my adoptive father have?”
“T-that is a good question… his majesty had many wives over the years, and even legalized polygamy for those in royalty and nobility, so it is fair to say that he has at least five.”
“Five?!”
“Are there any issues with that?”
“N-no, not at all.”
I can barely handle get one and this man has at least five! Give me a break.”
“His majesty is quite the womanizer compared to the rest of us in society, however.”
“What do you mean?”
“Although the High King proclaimed that polygamy is legal, it is still seen as a taboo thing in society. Many would rather stick to monogamy as it has been the law to for one man to marry one woman only.”
“I see.”
“Do you now?” Minister Juniper chuckled, “Then I guess you will learn how to fit into noble society just perfectly.”
I glared at the old Minister. What is this man on? I guess the societal rules of my previous world could be applied to do this one. But then again, I have not traveled outside the country I was born in ever, and western society seems to have different societal rules, even back then.
“D-do you think I can ever leave the manor before the year is over?”
“I can’t say why you couldn’t leave in the first place.”
“What do you mean?”
“Part of what you negotiated with his majesty, is that he would allow you free passage anywhere within the borders.”
“But still… surely he would try and put as many obstacles to prevent me to leave in the first place. Surely a bastard child suddenly appear would look bad to him.”
“As I said before, milord used to get around a lot, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much, besides, once you get appraised, I’m pretty sure I can once and for all confirm that you would be unstoppable to any obstacles that he could place in front of you.”
“I understand… but there are people who are foolish enough in the first place…”
Minister Juniper then stopped suddenly in the middle of the long hallway and turned to face the wall. He activated some kind of spell without muttering a word, but I noticed a magical circle appearing in front of his hands. The walls then started moving, revealing a hidden passageway.
“Come inside, the Hidden Church is this way.”
I nodded and entered the secret passageway. Minister Juniper was behind me. I glanced back to see him taking a step in, then using what I believe to be the same spell and closing the wall behind us.
