《The Hunters: Gaea》Excerpts From The Monster Encyclopedia

The world of Gaea is a world brimming with curious creatures, beautiful beasts, and species that are human-like yet too far to be considered as an animal but as an equal between humans. They are too abnormal and unique to be considered as normal species that they have been categorized into a word that all accept. Monsters.
Monsters are what everyone describes that cannot be called an animal or a human, but something greater or worse than one. This chapter will provide excerpts of Monsters that have been encountered throughout the story.
MEGAFAUNA
“If you think Megafauna are just double or triple-sized animals...You’d be right and wrong; they’re more than just large animals.”
— Head Receptionist Ria
Megafauna; Monstrous Animals. They are a species of animals that are variants of their normal counterparts. They are stronger, larger, and mutated through magical evolution. Megafauna were originally normal animals before they were exposed to mana, changing them to become a hulking beast that is resistant to magic and even develop unique traits or changes that do not belong to the original animal. An example being that all Megafauna are omnivorous than strict carnivores or herbivores.
Not all animals become Megafauna from exposure, Megafauna became a species separate from animals and the Megafauna today are born naturally like all animals are.
Megafauna are dangerous. A fact everyone knows. But they are worth hunting and killing if one is strong enough. Depending on the animal, one can salvage and reuse body parts of the Megafauna to develop a weapon, make clothing that provides warmth, elemental protection, and even gain resistance to magic.
The meat of a Megafauna is also very delicious. Not only everything about these beasts has been amplified, but their meat also has been amplified to a degree that it’s of the highest quality. Meats that are not normally eaten from regular animals, the meat of livestock, Megafauna meat are all delicious. They are so delicious that just a kilogram of their meat is worth a gold or more depending on the beast. The price depends on the risk of obtaining the meat and the flavor of it.
Most Megafauna are violent in nature. Compared to the original animals who are docile, their megafauna counterparts are ravenous, violent, and deadly. Breeding and cultivating certain Megafauna are mostly impossible because of how dangerous they are to others around them. Despite their meat being in high demand, it is best to leave these creatures alone in the wild and hunt them down instead.

Common Megaboars
“These pigs are annoying to kill. My bullet can pierce through anything, but not when the damn ground quakes making my shots inaccurate. It forced me to beat it with my own bare hands.”
— Slayers Division Official Michel Ares
Common Megaboars are boars that have grown to hulking sizes; even a juvenile can be as large as a horse and develop tusks that can impale a person like a needle through fabric.
Megaboars are tough to kill because of their hide and speed. They bring rampage with each gallop of their hooves, the ground shaking with their heavy steps, making whoever hunts them on foot have trouble to keep up or even steady themselves to even fight back.
Their tusks are sharper than steel, their hide tougher than chainmail, their skulls tougher than iron. They are terrifying to face off alone.
Variations of the Common Megaboar:
The Magma Boar, the Stone Warthog, the Overgrown Hog, the Thunderpig, and the Snofha Tonn; Snow Tusk.

Fae
“Pixies, Fairies, Trolls. They’re the same that both are a headache. Two out of these things won’t kill you but they’ll make your life hell if you fuck with any of them.”
— Head Receptionist Ria
The Fae are a race of species that are a mystery to how they are born. Some say they were born from the flowers blooming in spring, some rose out of the swamps like clay being formed. Though, modern Fae are born how all mammals reproduce.
They are an oddity on where they are originally from. Megafauna exist because of them being descended from normal animals. The Fae are more human yet some are smaller than a flower and too large to be considered a normal human.
The Fae are known for their affinity in mana. More potent than a regular human’s or elf’s, yet they chose such power in trickery, hedonism and are specialists in deception and illusion magic because of their trickery.
They are a neutral race, most being tricksters and territorial at best. Even those who are dangerous would prefer to be left on their lonesome than wreak havoc.
Trolls
“These fuckers stink like a damn swamp, too bad they don’t burn like a swamp. I can take them down no problem. They may heal faster than someone overdosing on elixirs, but a good smash and complete destruction of their brain will stop them dead on their tracks… Good luck with that.”

— Slayers Division Official Michel Ares
Trolls are known as the darker creatures in the Fae much like Ogres. Compared to Ogres who can at least be reasoned and communicate. Trolls are nothing more than ravenous beasts bent on eating, killing, crushing and hating everything it deems a threat or an annoyance.
Trolls cannot do magic because most Trolls are instinctual beasts than any normal humanoid. Despite their sub-par intelligence. Their mana is converted into their body for enhancements, healing, and strength. Making them difficult to kill because of their healing even bringing them to the brink of death. To truly kill a troll is to destroy the head completely. Leaving a single gray matter intact with their head. The Troll can instantly regrow a brand new head; if decapitated, a new body forms in seconds.
To know the threat of a troll is through their hair. Their mana is stored on their hair. The longer it is, the deadlier they are. They use their own hair as weapons or even wrapping around their lanky yet awfully strong limbs to turn the fibers into pseudo-muscles, Capable of inhuman strength that can crush anything with ease.
Swords snapped like twigs, stone, crushed like a ball of gravel, any living thing it holds will pop like a berry.
Because of their unnecessary and dangerous powers, most Trolls are categorized as an A-ranked threat in the Slayers Division.
Variation of the Trolls:
the Swamp Trolls, Charred Trolls, Mountain Trolls, Issa Troll; Ice Trolls, and Cave trolls.

Golems
“Magic Robots. That’s what these things literally are. Magic Robots. Prove me wrong and I’ll probably eat a salad with balsamic vinegar.”
— Head Receptionist Ria
Golems are automatons created through magic by mages. They are molded by anything that the mage wants them to be made of. So long as they have a sufficient core to retain the form they are embedded with.
The Biology of a Golem is Simple. There is the body and the core. The core of a Golem is what truly matters in this artificial monster. It composes the data, the magical imprint of the original mage who built the golem, along with it being the main process and energy source of why the Golems are animated. Without it, the body of a Golem is nothing but a statue or loses form if the body is liquid.
The body itself can be made with Anything. Solids, liquids, gasses, anything. As long as the mage can do it, a Golem can be made with it.
Golems do not possess sentience, sapience, or even a will. They are machines built with purpose and their purpose are being bodyguards to their masters or become helpers.
However, there are exceptions. If the mage wants to develop a Golem to have such traits. The Golem will and develop Sentience and live as an individual. These what makes Golems part of the reason why they are in the Encyclopedia than in the records of “The Tools of a Magus”.
Because of the versatility of the Golems there are too many to categorized and as of today, a new excerpt has been added by the Official and Headmaster of the Mage’s Academy, Elana.
Dragonscale Snow Golems
“The first part of this Golem’s name alone is enough to bring every spellcaster shivering on their knees in fear. No spell cannot go through a Dragon’s scale. Nothing. To think someone made Golems out of them is remarkable and terrifying. Report to the Mage’s Academy and Hunter’s Guild immediately if you see one.”
— Headmaster of the Mage’s Academy Elana
Semi-Solid automatons that can’t be cut down by a blade or crushed by hammers. For these Golems reform if the snow remains. Made by a magus who offered his life to power and create the mass production of these Golems.
They were all programmed to act freely. Further research of their core has found out their base intelligence is that of an animal. Too much of a risk for the world to let these Golems run free.
The majority of these mass-produced Golems have been eliminated by the two Officials Slater Lillith and Michel Ares. Incinerating the workshop and the Golems produced by them.
What thought to be neutralized turned to be still active; Reports at the more civilized villages in Grayvorn reported sightings of wandering Snow Golems through the misty tundra.
Because of their immunity to magic, the ability to reform and despite being made of snow, has resistances to regular heat. Their threat level is ranked at a low S-Rank by the Slayers division.

GIG: God In Gold
So let's cut the pretense: this is some garbage-tier weaboo fiction. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I feel it's important to say that this is some nonsense I write for fun. I don't think it's very good. I'd even go as far as to say that I'm not a good writer at all. I picked up a ball that started rolling when I was a kid and have been intermittently punting it towards the next chapter whenever I feel like it. And you can come on this garbage ride too if you really feel like it. Who knows, maybe there's some gold to be salvaged from this dumpster fire? Synposis: Satou Shibuya is a first year student at Niflheim's Kawagusa General Academy. He's also the self-proclaimed strongest power user, sporting a big enough number on his birth certificate to make a nuclear bomb glow green with envy. There's something to be said about a person whose head is so far up their own ass that you find yourself watching their every move with bated breath, ever curious to see which hole they'll dig themselves into next. This is not that kind of story. This is a story about pride, coming of age, but actually, this is a story about big, stupid superpowered fights. Update Schedule: Whenever.

What will come of this unexpected change in circumstances? How will the tribes react? And will the Grashiens be able to rejoin society for good? Author's note: This is the first book in what is expected to be an eight-book series. The first few chapters aren't very good since they were written when I was about ten, but the quality improves around chapter 7. Please bear with it; I'll try to get the chapters in as soon as possible. Thanks!
