《The Young Lord Is A Prodigy (Dropped)》Chapter 2

What is this? Why is my face like this?
Now that I remember, didn’t I die?
Suddenly, unknown memories started flooding my mind. My head started to hurt from recalling too much. It seems to be the memories of this body’s owner.
I remember now. This body is mine. I think I have reincarnated into a second life.
The incident where I died seems to be memories from my past life. I recovered those unpleasant memories somehow, along with 21 years before that event. My thought process returned to that of my past life thanks to that.
Although I still retained the memories of my second life, it is the memories of a child after all. It is in no way dominant enough to overtake the memories of a full-grown adult. Well, goodbye childhood innocence I guess.
I looked at the mirror and studied my new appearance. Black hair, brown eyes, my face looked cute too. I’m sure I’ll grow up to be an attractive man. Well, it seems that I hit the jackpot in this life. Although, I was fairly handsome in my past life too so it doesn’t make a difference.
However, I hit the jackpot in another aspect; I’m the oldest son of a noble. The society I was born in was an aristocracy and I was born to a noble. How cool is that?
*Knock Knock*
That must be the maid.
“Come in,” I ordered.
Did I sound too dignified as a child? Never mind.
A young maid opened the door and proceeded to help change my clothes. With me having the memories of a grown man, it’s kind of awkward letting a young woman change my clothes but I guess I should get used to it. I am supposedly a child after all.
***
I trod down the wide and long hallway leading to the dining room to have breakfast with my family. I pushed the huge door to find my parents and younger brother sitting with food on the dining table.

I recognized them from memories of this life. I adjusted pretty well considering I had just recalled memories from a whole 2 decades of my previous life. I looked at the familiar faces waiting for me to sit down and eat with them.
My father, Count Hale. He had a stern face and exuded a dignified atmosphere around him. He’s sitting straight looking at me as if beckoning to me hurry and sit. I walked to the opposite side of my mother and sat down.
The Countess, Sofia Hale. My mother had a beautiful face and carried a mature charm with her. She looks kind as much as she is dignified. She was a loving mother according to my memories. Next to her was my younger brother, Rodwell Hale. He’s just a kid I guess. His face is pretty cute. I don’t know much about him since he was always with my mother while I always play outside.
Rodwell looked at me with curiosity. Is there something weird on my face? Now that I notice, even my parents looked at me curiously.
“Is there something weird?” I asked them.
“Nothing, you just seem different today.” my mother said.
“Are you feeling sick?” my father asked with a voice filled with concern that somehow still carries a heavy sense of dignity in it. What an amazing man.
“I’m fine. Why do you think that?” I answered my father with a tinge of interest.
“Well, you always enter the dining room while running and yelling excitedly for every meal.” my mother said with a smile.
Huh. Now that I recall, I was a curious and naughty child. What should I say to not make them feel suspicious?
“Really? I guess I just don’t feel like running around today.” I said confidently. Nobody’s going to suspect a child just because I stopped running around during mealtime.
“Are you sure?” said Mother with a playful voice.
“I’m fine, mother.”

“Alright, but just tell us if you’re not feeling too well, Richard.” my mother said with a warm smile.
Richard. That appears to be my name in this life. I didn’t bother recalling it consciously since a name is already second nature to everyone.
“I will, thank you, mother.”
A slight smile formed on my face and I just continued eating together with my family.
***
“Ha! Ha! Ha!”
Some sweaty men yelled while swinging their swords in a wide-open field.
They’re soldiers of the Hale manor according to my memories. I scour through the memories of my current life and found some interesting things.
First of all, it seems I reincarnated into a different world from my previous one. Civilization looked like the middle ages and society is ruled under an aristocracy system as I said before. How do I know that it’s not just a different time? Well, it seems magic exists here. The advance of civilization is through magic studies instead of science.
However, technology is still pretty advanced even though I said it’s like the middle ages. The quality of life here is still pretty good. We have flush toilets and air conditioners. But the architecture is reminiscent of the medieval ages of my previous world.
But I want to focus on magic. Are you kidding me? There’s magic, of course I have to find out more. I search around the house looking for someone I should know.
I stopped in front of a tall man clad in armor. He was overseeing the soldiers' training. I looked up to see his face with well-kept facial hair.
He’s the commander of the knights, Henderson. He looked at me after noticing someone coming near him.
“Oh, what is the young master doing here?” said Henderson with a smile.
“I want you to teach me about magic,” I said with a straight face.
“Sorry?” he looked like he doubted his ears.
“Magic. I want to learn about magic.”
“The young master that hates studying wants to learn?” he said with a surprised tone. Although he looks moved right after.
I hate studying? That’s not right, studying is just too boring. It was like that in my previous life too. That’s why I dropped out of college and had to work at a convenience store.
“Young master is finally taking his studies seriously.” he looks like he’s about to cry.
“So can you teach me?” I said with an annoyed look.
“Sorry, young master. But I don’t think I’m the best person to teach young master about magic.” the man said with a voice of regret.
“But I’ve seen you use magic before?”
I’ve seen him light a fire with his fingers before. It wasn’t much but it’s still magic. That’s why I asked him to teach me about magic.
“I’m a knight, so I’m more skillful in swordsmanship. Of course, I could use magic but I think Harry is more suited for that role.” said the man.
Harry? I don’t remember anyone with that name.
“Who’s that?”
“Oh, I forgot the young master never met Harry. He’s the family mage. He’s always in his lab that’s probably why the young master doesn’t know him.”
Hmm. I guess I’ll see him then.
“Can’t be helped. Could you teach me swordsmanship then?”
I’ve always loved swords in my previous life. But there’s not much opportunity in modern civilization.
“The young master wants to learn swordsmanship too? This must be the happiest day of my life. Of course I’ll teach the young master!”
Wahh. He looks like he’s really about to cry. What an odd man.
“I’ll learn swordsmanship later.” I ran away.
“Wait, young master, I can teach you right now!” I can hear the man’s voice from afar.
Swords are cool, but magic comes first.
