《My Life as a Farmer in Another World》Chapter 12

Samantha was glad that her son had come home so hungry to do work. In the past month, he had planted coffee seeds and they have come to grow slightly. She wanted him to plant some normal things like potatoes but Luke had convinced her that he was obsessed with the coffee plant, he had some idea that coffee would be a big cash crop in the future. She had even decided to add a few seeds to her farm with the help of Luke’s skill. Her plants were also starting to grow. Samantha was still kind of worried for Luke, he was a smart boy and she knew that if she was only 10 years old, she could have never thought of the things he has and the magic he has learned.
Samantha was a very proud mother, she even bragged to her family back home that Luke knew saint class magic. She also decided to not tell her family that Luke could use all of the elements. It would end up making Luke’s life harder and she didn’t want to be the parent that messed up her child’s opportunities in life but at the rate Luke is going, he was going to mess it up himself. Samantha thought Luke was too smart, too talented and she knew those who stood out too much get isolated. She wanted Luke to make friends and have experience using magic in the real world and gain skills so that it would be helpful for him. Samantha planned to let Luke go out on adventure once he is 13 years old, but she felt that Luke wasn’t showing much interest in going out to the world and doing things. She also knew he was hiding a new skill or magic from her, she saw him make a rock spin when he threw it without any spin to being with. Samantha talked with Alice to send him to a guild to adventure and Alice thought that it would also be a good idea once Luke becomes 13 years old and officially an adult in the world. Since both of them had agreed to this, Samantha and Alice decided to keep this the plan till Luke was older.

Before Luke got to the age of 13, he had about 50 coffee plants that were the size of a medium tree, he had also planted and harvested a huge amount of potatoes and rice, probably about 2 tonnes per year. Luke found it very easy to do pretty most all of the farm work became he had programmed a plow and hooked it into the horse. Luke had also leveled to level 101 in his class. He didn’t know if that was because of how popular coffee began or if his tools like the sprinkler and the plow that he had created with Program were so revolutionary. Farming rice was also something uncommon because it required so much water but it was fairly easy for Luke because he could just make water with water magic. In the past three years, Luke had also made a few different types of fertilizer and nutrient mixes that he had googled on how to make. Even though Luke had done so much, he has yet to gain a class skill and he suspected that 20 years to get a new skill mentioned by Alice when she first explained how to classes worked was the average time it took for most people, most people somehow included him.
Luke was also working on a golem that he had made with earth magic and he had used crystals and other metals to make it. He didn’t want the golem to be easily destroyed by the weather so he had used rocks, crystals, and metals to make this golem. The golem was completed about a month before Luke turned 13 years old. He had even given it training and some ability to make decisions based on the situation so the golem could help harvest the coffee beans and potatoes. Luke found out, even though the work was being performed by the golem, he was still leveling up since he went from level 100 to level 101 in his farming class but he hadn’t done anything besides training the golem. By the time the golem had learned to do all the tasks, Luke was 13 years old and he was about to being his life as an adventurer.
