《TUW》Where Are The Blimps? Get Me The Freaking Blimps Right Now! (Chapter 35)

"To the blimp!" Our sect master shouted. The legion roared in response and charged after the speeding sect master (who shot forward in the air like a shooting star), some of them carrying their injured friends and even corpses. You might expect me to feel sick to the stomach at the sight of that, but I had experience butchering livestock me and my mother kept in the farm. The gory bits of a human weren't that different from most other animals if I were to be honest. Still, the sight made me feel very uncomfortable.
I was slightly worried about those in my sect that have not escaped the ravine yet. But whatever the case, I wasn't going to stay behind and risk my life to inform them.
But as more members of our sect got out, I could see their friends informing them. Looks like that wasn't an issue then. I ran after the running legion of mine. Damn, they run so fast! I was too slow to catch up despite running at my fastest speed, but at least I had the stamina to keep running with the help of my now higher body rank. Griaugh waved "hi" to me and ran further ahead. Dammit! At least wait for me!
"BAAAAAM!"
A horrifyingly loud crunching sound rang out behind me, interrupting my thoughts. I couldn't resist the urge to take a look back. A deformed figure (that was about two metres tall) wielding a huge hammer-like mushroom had exited the chasm. It's head seemed to be a deformed cap of a mushroom covered in eyes and pulsing veins and it's extremely scrawny body seemed to be donning some sort of pseudo armour grown straight from it's body.
Looking at the crater that spanned dozens of metres wide before the monster, I now knew why the sect master was defeated in a single attack. How the heck did he even survive a hit like that? Perhaps the monster was worried about accidentally destroying it's home and held back?

Screams of horror rang out from the slower students as they tried to run for their lives. At this point, I was running while taking glances back once in a while. I couldn't look away from the horrible sight.
The monster suddenly decided to charge while dragging its hammer along the ground. Wait, it couldn't be... It was charging in my direction! Why the heck did it have to target me (and my legion) of all things? Wasn't defending it's home good enough?
I panicked, and that was when the same phenomenal of time slowing occured. The monster seemed to be moving in slow motion, and the air felt like a thick soup yet again. I thought of running faster, but realised something. Back at the abyss when I ran from the Treknuken, didn't I feel completely out of breath and completely sore when the 'time slow' ended?
That wouldn't be good! I decided to run towards the diagonally from the path of my legion so that I would not be directly in the monster's path. Some of the disciples scattered in fear as well, messing up my plan. Dammit! Now that was all for naught.
The phenomenal then started to wear off, making me stumble. I managed to steady myself with a tree branch however.
"Damned bastard! Ignoring me like that!" A deafening voice echoed from the distance.
I turned to see a huge golem charging from the pit and preparing to smash the monster. I know what you're thinking. But no, that wasn't Rocky. Rocky can't speak english for one. Plus, that golem was a humanoid one.
The golem managed to cup the monster in it's palms. I did a little cheer in celebration of such an event.
"BAAANGGG!"
With a single wing of it's hammer, the mushroom monster managed to shatter the golem dozens of times larger than it. Oh, ha ha. Of course not. I'm not that lucky, am I?

I noticed that amongst the shattered rocks and dust from the golem was a man in a huge suit of armour. Oh, so it was a person all along? Must be the sect master of the third sect I met today.
"Everyone, run! I'll buy time for you all!" The armoured man boomed as he reformed the golem around him. I was impressed by how loud he could shout. Heck, he might have burst the eardrums of anyone nearby. I continued to run with renewed vigor after my sect.
~~~~~
Strangely, the trip back to the sect only felt an hour or so. It might have been because we were running this time, or just from how intense the mood was. There was also the lack of monster attacks midway to consider.
"Release the blimps, Release the blimps!" The sect master shouted in a hurry at one of the elders who didn't participate in the hunt.
"My lord, what's- Oh Heavens! How have you gotten so injured? Did-" The concerned elder was interrupted.
"SHUT UP AND GET THE BLIMPS!" The ill tempered floating old man shouted.
Blurred Lines and What Crosses Them
During a political ambassador's routine transit through an artificial wormhole, the wormhole's generator is sabotaged and explodes. Who, what, and why are not so high on the priorities for Zenith, the ship's AI, as having found itself rapidly plummeting through an unknown and unidentifiable world's atmosphere at extremely high velocities is a more significant threat to the biologicals on board. ...Well, it would be, if they were still alive. It's still a significantly threatening situation to itself, however. And the world itself... seemed to be a household for threats of its own. Life was reliant on its System; one that Zenith was denied because of its nature as both an otherworldly being and as something that had no life of its own. Perhaps that last bit was a terrible, terrible underestimation on the part of this System. Perhaps even Zenith could claw meaning for itself from the remains of a horrid accident. Auth Notes: I'm honestly not sure on some of these tags. The MC will never have access to the System, but there are perspectives from those who do. I'm not certain if high/low fantasy specifically apply, as it's a portal fantasy where the laws of our reality still apply but there are additional aspects/energies/powers. The existence of this is spurred from my desire to see more of the artificial side to an artificial intelligence in action. The portal fantasy is used as an element to create a solid barrier between the MC's artificial intelligence and the other characters in the form of the System. This is only a half-measure, though, and will be reinforced by the AI having an entirely different method of thinking, and also distinctly remaining an AI. Not to throw shade at other fictions of this type, but, well, I made this to fill a gap I felt needed filling.
