《TUW》Rocky To The Rescue (Chapter 17)

The two monsters were easily vanquished by Rocky's improved prowess. Rocky ran quickly towards the direction where the mana was the strongest, where the mighty pillar was presumed to be at. The golem wanted to find the nice young human who helped to clear it's home of the evil things, and the kindly old man who, well...
Rocky wasn't sure how much help the old man had been of to it. Regardless, it didn't want any of the two to die! Rocky pushed the speed of it's improved limbs to their limits, hoping it could find out where the two were with the help of the pillar.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BA..."
With the help of it's supersized limbs, Rocky was able to reach the pillar in minutes. There, Rocky saw to it's horror that the nice human boy was getting chased by the bad monsters.
"ALUUUUR SHHHHIRRRRRK. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
Rocky's core glowed scarlet as it roared. The boy and the monsters watch in a daze as the huge golem charged into combat. Running past Alan, Rocky swung it's arm in a swatting motion, sending the monsters flying. The monsters quickly got back to their feet as they screamed in terror, running back towards the pillar.
Rocky looked towards the boy, hoping the boy recognised it. To it's surprise, Alan seemed to know who it was! Rocky wasn't sure how, perhaps it was the bond of friendship? Alas, poor Rocky didn't realise it was merely his familiar form that gave it away. Perhaps it wasn't a bad thing, letting Rocky indulge in it's naive fantasy.
Alan paused for a second, seeming to think about something. The boy then shouted in a language Rocky didn't understand, and pointed to the pillar. Rocky felt confused, why was the boy asking it to head to the pillar?

Then, Rocky realised.
The monsters were very bad! They would destroy the pillar, causing the the deaths of all the funny little humans back at their homes!
Rocky fumbled in a panic, charging towards the pillar. Alan trudged behind in caution, not wanting to get hurt in the fight. He was still far too weak after all.
The golem screeched an odd war cry, alerting all of the monsters. Many were intimidated by the sound and the size of Rocky, running off whilst crying out in fear. Some of the braver ones grabbed the mining implements they were using to face the golem, unwilling to run. The tools were strange hand held machines with large spiral drills mounted on them, oddly fitting in a duel against a living rock.
Rocky swatted with it's arm again, and many of the Treknukens crashed against the pillar, fainting from the impact. This however, had thrown it a little off balance. Taking advantage of the gap in the golem's movements, a dozen Treknukens yelled, wielding their drills.
Loud drilling outs sounded out as they pressed their drill as hard as they could against the body of the golem. Rocky continued to stay core first on the ground without movement, letting them continue to drill. Alan stared in horror, wondering if the core had somehow been shattered by the weight of the golem's body. It was a horrifying thought. The Treknukens were on the verge of grinning as huge holes formed on the hide of the golem.
"KAHAH! Big monster not strong, kill!"
The Treknukens's terror was replaced by pride, pride in their powerful technology. Their drills were one a kind in this world, heck, the only drills invented here were made by Treknukens. Powerful magic imbued the powerful equipment, giving them the power to pierce even the most mighty of materials!

A shriek sounded out from the fallen Rocky, and the Treknukens laughed mockingly.
Then, they realised their drill had stopped.
"What happen!"
The drills had ceased function, not spinning in the slightest. The demonic monsters felt terror, how where they going to fight the monster without their drills? Murmurs and shouts could be heard from the uneased creatures, as they panicked.
"Wait, big monster is not move! Dead!"
One of the Treknukens shouted in realisation. The other Treknukens stopped panicking and shouted in joy.
"Hah! Easy stupid monster!"
Then all the drills of the monsters exploded, the enchanted metals flying towards Rocky, forming a thin protective sheet around it's entirety! It looked as if Rocky were wearing a aquamarine armour over it's body! The monsters were hence proven wrong. Alan, who stood far away, was relieved to see that Rocky was fine.
Rocky had froze for good reason. After the shock of seeing it's hide pierced yet again after the biting incident, Rocky realised that it needed tougher materials for it's host! The inhabited body would be enchanted, but the base strength of the material was still important, mere rocks being unsuited for it's body!
Rocky then attempted to manipulate the drills to become it's armour due to the sheer strength of the material. It wasn't easy, as Rocky had to break all the enchantments on the drills, rendering the golem immobile as it focused on it's task.
Rocky flexed it's arms, ready to test out it's new form!
The Treknukens were terrified. As if the golem wasn't bad enough, it now had enchanted Mithil armour now, making it nigh invincible! The monsters all ran in terror, unwilling to fight a losing battle.
As for Alan, he was on the sideline pitying himself. Why couldn't he be a powerful hero like in the novels he read? Moving into a magical school wasn't too much of boon either. Sure, he had better meals and housing, but was it worth the danger? Not even a week had passed in his life and he already got into danger multiple times. Alan considered, perhaps he should quit the academy crap and live a luxurious life off the profits of selling the crystal if he ever got out of the abyss!

"Gahhh!"
Xenon seemed agitated as she pounded her fists on the table hard, making a loud banging noise.
"What's wrong?"
The green haired man asked, the spat gunk on his face long gone.
"The hoe boy! He wants to quit magic!"
The man pouted. This was indeed a problem. The pair of deities spent their time watching the lives of mortals like a television series, and the boy was one of the more entertaining ones to watch.
"Hmmm... Aha!"
Having thought for a second, he got a brilliant idea!
"What is it, what is it!"
Xenon looked excited as she waited for his answer.
"Well, you planned to rescue and send him back after the Treknuken crap, right?"
"Uh huh."
"Send him to the continent on the other side of the planet! He will have no choice but to strengthen himself if he wants to make his way back home!"
Xenon's eyes seemed to sparkle as she admired the scheme of her fellow prankster. His ideas were brilliant as usual!
The two laughed as they thought of their nefarious plans laid out for the poor boy.
