All creatures percieve the messages birthed by the mana in different ways, but without fail, these messages were always in a format the creature would understand, or in this case, would eventually understand. Humans and others fluent with a known written language would see the messages as words. Creatures would instinctively know what the messages were saying, for the language of mana is shared by all living things.
Our slime however was a newborn, and thus although it knew what the messages said, the understanding of them eluded it. The slime however was preoccupied with an altogether different anomaly. The sense of awe and joy filled its every pore, for when its core had been completed, the world it had known was bathed in a new light.
Color. Before the slime was only able to percieve its surroundings as various shades of grey. Now that its core was completed, it was forced to take in the wide array of colors before it. The crunchy auburn leaves, still sparsely decorating the trees, the verdant green blades of long grass waving majestically in the crisp autumn breeze. The slime took in these sights, these magnificent colors that it could have never imagined previously. And then it looked up.
And it saw the sky.
A vast expanse of blue, populated by fluffy white clouds as far as the eye could see. An endless space beyond even the tips of the guardian mountains that ringed his humble forest. The bright golden sun, lavishing its rain of pure warmth upon the world. The slime drank it all in, quivering with joy and wonder, How does an flea feel when its eyes behold an elephant? This feeling of inferiority and amazement is what our slime was feeling now.
The slime hopped around madly. It hopped over to the skinny boulders, now bereft of leaves, and took in the browns and greens of the bark and moss. It hopped over to the boulders and... well it wasnt impressed. The boulders did not look much different. And then it hopped over to the river.
In all its years, the slime had avoided the river. This is because it did not like the roaring of this river, as previously it could not see and thus wanted nothing to do with whatever was making the loud rushing sound it had heard. With newfound confidence, bolstered by the onslaught of colors and emotions, it beheld that which it had previously avoided. The river, banked by small cliffs of rock and dirt, spanned only 20 feet across, and wound its way through the forest.

The messages had of coursed accompanied the slime during this adventure, having not yet put together why it had disappeared the last time. It did not care much for the message when beset by beauty the likes of which it had never before seen. And so, the slime went around all day and simply beheld everything it could lay its mana sight upon.
Eventually however, the glamor wore off and it decided to figure out how to get rid of the message that was plaguing it. After many hours it finally managed to put two and two together. Thats right, the last time the messaged disappeared because it jumped off a boulder, so off it went in search of a nice boulder with which to display its magnificent gift of free falling.
And thus did the slime launch itself from its rocky platform, and again did its gelatinous body manage to graze the edge of the message.

This time however, the message did not disappear. Frustrated that its genius plan had been foiled, the slime was resolved not to give up so easily, and so it threw itself from its perch again.

Again the message did not disappear and instead a new one popped up. The slime however was not discouraged and proceeded to throw itself off the boulder. It was determined to make the message disappear once and for all

All of a sudden the slime's thought process seemed to become clearer. Of course it had doubled its intelligence so this is no surprise. It suddenly found itself connecting dots it did not know were there. Finally the slime realized that it was not the boulder suicide jumps that were interacting with the message, but rather it had noticed that everytime the message changed, its own body had touched the message. Delighted by its discovery, the slime rolled about next to the boulder with joy. Of course the slime did nothing with this discovery, it was merely happy that it had figured out the puzzle.
And thus began the slime's path to enlightenment.
Looking back at the boulder it had been jumping from, the slime had noticed a dark patch on the ground. There had been a hissing sound when it had crushed those tiny moving boulders. Now, more of those insects had returned and it decided to hop onto them, to see if it could replicate the feat.

The insect's bodies started to disappear once in contact with its body. The slime then understood a portion of what the message had been trying to tell it. This was its Corrosive Body trait in action. It had know that the insects had been providing it with mana upon their demise, but it could feel that upon dissolving the insects were providing a far greater amount of mana. It did not understand why this was, and it did not care much about this new revelation. After all, it had never lacked for mana in its life.
The months passed, the winter wind blew again. The insects went deep underground and the slime amused itself by playing in the fluffy white stuff that fell from the sky. This stuff must be the same as the white things hanging in the open blue above, so it thought. When those white things in the sky gathered together, and no more blue could be seen, that is when the white stuff fell from the sky. The slime was positive it was correct.
Winter went, carried away by the reaping summer warmth, and the insects made their grand return, carrying newly grown leaves into their labrynthine warrens to feed themselves and their matriarch. The slime too had tried dissolving these leaves, though the mana it obtained was so negligible it decided the effort wasnt worth it. It also tried dissolving boulders, dirt, trees, water, snow, grass, pebbles, the air, and itself. Most gave it no mana, and the items that did gave it barely any. For some reason, the pebbles and boulders were very hard to dissolve for it, and it simply could not figure out a way to dissolve itself or the air.
The slime decided to stick with insects.
Crunching through its breakfast of insects, the slime had discovered there was no need to throw itself from boulders any longer. After all, the reason it had done so in the first place was because it could not see, and after it could see it continued because it was fun. It still flung itself off sometimes when it was bored.
One midsummer day, whilst the slime was feasting upon the plethora of various insect delicacies, a new message popped up.

Aha! This time the slime decided to test its theory that its own body was what was interacting with the message. With herculean effort, the slime twisted and turned, trying to extend part of itself to touch the message. The slime's body looked like a turtle shell at this time, ridges and spikes appearing and disappearing on its body, yet it could not touch the message. It did however see its own body morphing about upon its command, and bolstered by this discovery it decided to practice. It thought it could eventually command itself to do what it wanted.
Days passed as the slime learned to walk as any newborn would. After much trial and error it was able to isolate part of the mana in its body and stretch it out, and with it, it's body would stretch as well. Eventually it became proficient enough in this method that it was finally able to touch the elusive message that had been following it.

The amount of information pouring into the slime overwelmed it. It simply decided to jab at the message until it went away.

The slime felt as though its mind had been opened. This was the second time this had happened although this time it did not seem like as much of an increase as before. The slime would eventually understand, in the distant future, that the reason for this is because the increase from one to two is a 100% increase, while two to three is merely a 50% increase. 3 intelligence is still 3 times more intelligent than it had been however.
With its newfound intelligence, the slime was able to ascertain that this message and the previous message both seemed to increase its thinking power, and that both had looked the same. This made it wonder what would have happened if it confirmed the other messages. Unfortunately, the message had disappeared and it had no way to find out.
