《World Jumper》Chapter 13

Jet was ducking and dodging as the woman came at him. He had to do something quickly. She was slightly faster than him. Fire was out of the question, and if he used his other magic's. His identity would come out. Then she slipped up, leaving an opening. Jet unsheathed his sword and slashed her chest. He felt the tip slide across her chest armor. Then a smacking noise rang out as the blade slammed into her breast. He hadn't meant to strike her so hard.
"You," she growled, then leaped at him.
Jet rolled out of the way, feeling every bruise on his body. He had already taken several hits. He saw another opening kicking her in the back of her knee. She tumbled to the ground, and Jet put his sword to her neck.
"Winner number three."
Jet laid back and relaxed a while. 'That would have been easy if I used my full magic.' However, if he used his fire to the fullest, there was a chance he could hurt her badly. 'What bothers me most is the fact she only used her magic for body enhancing. She never once threw a spell.' Of course, he didn't even have time to fake cast a spell. She kept him on his toes.
"He cheated. You all saw what he did." The bald woman was up, pointing at Jet.
"I watched the fight. Number three didn't cheat." The bored-looking man said in a matter of fact voice.
"You saw him. He purposely struck me on the chest. The rules clearly state you're not supposed to hit people in private areas." She said, pulling the paper with the rules out.
"First, that rule says not to hit someone in the private areas purposely. Second, he did not purposely hit you on the boob. Third, that rule is for between your legs. You number seven, in your fight earlier, you got kicked in the boob. Why didn't you think it was cheating." The man pointed at number seven.
The woman just shrugged. "Well, why would I complain. In real fights, they do get hit. All I got to say is get over yourself. You lost, don't make such a shameful scene. I mean, you obviously fight for a living, don't lower yourself to that level." Number seven said, looking right at number two.
The bald woman stormed off, mumbling to herself. Jet finally got off the floor and out of the ring. He could already tell he was going to have a lot of bruises. He watched as five and seven fought. Five used fire magic. However, seven had not used magic yet. Seven used daggers, and she was quick. Seven won the match with lethal blows. Five was covered in black marks where she had been hit.
The last fight of this round went poorly. Nine and eleven ended up with too serious of injuries. They had both been hauled off to the healers. Eleven had won, but if not back in time, she would be disqualified.
Seven walked into the ring before being called and looked at Jet. "Well, number three, shall we dance." She smiled then winked at him.

Jet walked into the ring and stood across from her. "Yes, let's dance." He smiled and winked right back.
"You may begin." The man said in a bored voice while picking his fingernails.
Jet unsheathed his sword to block a kick. Then he used a gauntlet to block the dagger near his throat. He tried to trip her by kicking at her other foot but ultimately failed. Before he could take a breath, she was on him. Jet ducked the dagger strike then shot a fireball into her chest. As it hit her, flinging her back, she managed to kick him across the face while she flew back.
Jet, as he went down, rolled, then shot back up to his feet. His eyes widened slightly when he saw the dagger coming right at him. He moved his head just enough to dodge the dagger, only to find a second on the way. Almost breaking his wrist and forcing down the pain. Jet managed to swing his sword fast enough to redirect the second dagger. Jet then formed another fireball with his right hand. Pain shot through his damaged hand. Todly warned him not to cast with it until it was healed. Jet just clenched his teeth and threw it at her back. It knocked her towards the edge of the ring, but not out of the ring.
Seven was already on her feet again, darting towards him. Jet didn't back off and darted towards her. He dodged another dagger strike and sliced his sword on her hip. Then he had another fireball ready when he heard her second dagger cutting across his armor. It didn't stop him from hitting her in the ribs with the explosive fireball. He heard her groan with pain, and she stepped back.
They were both drenched in sweat now. 'Damn, if I weren't trying to act like I'm casting, this would be a lot easier. But why hasn't she used any magic? Unless.' The thought was cut short. Jet quickly swung his sword knocking back her daggers, then kneed her in the stomach, which had been a bad idea because now her hands were wrapped around his leg. Seven pulled on his leg, making Jet tumble to the ground. While she was still holding onto his leg, Jet twisted while falling. The movement threw her off balance making it where she couldn't dodge his other foot as he kicked her right across her face.
As Jet fell, he tried to catch himself. It would have worked out great if he hadn't tried to use his right hand. Jet hit the ground hard and immediately tried to get back up. He had dropped his sword at some point and now was certain he tore a muscle in his left wrist. When he got up, he looked around to find out. She was knocked out lying on the ground.
"Winner number three." The man said, waving over the healers. "Now, if number eleven is not back in two minutes, she will forfeit."
While they were waiting, Jet was massaging his bruises. If this eleven comes back, he wasn't sure he could win. Well, he didn't need to worry. The two minutes were just about up.

"I'm here, ready for my match." Eleven run-up to the ring.
Jet just groaned. 'You have got to be kidding. She has just been healed, and I am full of bruises.' Jet just gave in and walked into the ring. Eleven did as well, and they both waited for the match to begin.
"You may begin." The man said while yawning.
Eleven to her credit didn't run right at him, which was her downfall. 'Nope, too tired for this. Sorry for what's about to happen.' Jet thought tiredly. He raised his hand, shooting a fireball right at her. She, of course, dodged, but once it was beside her, it blew up, knocking her well out of the ring.
The man watching the fight dodged out of the way of her body. Eleven kept going and landed in a crowd of people. Who was now glaring in Jet's direction. He had used too much magic. The poor woman had been knocked out from the blast.
"Well, guess you win. What is your name?" The man said while waving over the healers again.
"The names Elson."
Jet was heading back to the castle. Then he remembered he had black hair dye in his hair and special contacts to change his eyes brown. So he went into an alley and burned off the dye and removed the contacts. Then headed for the castle.
When he got back to the castle, he had dinner with the royal family. Ileana was still down about his hand, and Charten was excited about the tournament coming up. He had missed the last tournament. Afterward, Jet headed off to the bath where Relo, like usual, was waiting.
"So, did you get a spot?" Relo had wanted to ask him since he got back.
"Elson won all his challenges and has got a spot in the tournament." He had a grin on his face.
"Well, then let's get you cleaned up then." Relo was already undressing.
Jet, on the other hand, was not. He did not want her to see the bruises on his body or the bloody mess of the hand. 'Well, guess there is no point hiding it. She will find out either way.' So he got undressed.
"Jet, what was the point in me teaching you if you weren't going to dodge their attacks?" She was looking at his bruised body.
"Most really come from being thrown to the ground."
Relo just walked over and started healing his bruises. "Well, I am not a healer like Roan, but us servants are all trained for basic healing. So tell me everything."
Jet told Relo how his day had gone. She also told him a few things he should have done differently. Other than that, Relo had been glad it went well. After they were all done talking, he decided to go to bed early.
The next day Jet got up early. He had wanted to sleep in, but his mind wouldn't let him. So he got up to put on his finest clothes. Relo said he would need to be seen today. He had been absent for the last few days.
Jet walked around the castle, greeting and talking to the guards as he walked by them. Then ended up at the training grounds where Todly was doing his early morning workout.
"Hey boy, where have you been the last few days? Haven't seen much of you." Todly was currently doing pull-ups with one hand.
"Reading and secretly training with Relo." He went to a bench and sat down.
"How is the secret training going with Relo?" Todly switched arms and started pull-ups again.
"Well, for starters, it's not much of a secret anymore. Everyone already seems to know and asked how it's going. As for how it's going. Brutal." He meant it too. That girl did not have an easy mode.
Todly broke out laughing after Jet said that. "Well, I am sure of that. All the servants are taught to fight."
Jet raised an eyebrow. "All of the servants?"
"Of course, they are after all there to protect and serve the royal family."
Jet guessed it made sense in a way. Not only could they protect the royal family, but themselves too. 'I'm starting to think Relo has been taking it easy on me.'
"Well, I'm off to breakfast. See you later, Todly." Jet waved to Todly as he walked back towards the castle.
Jet had almost got to the dining hall when Relo stopped him. Then she grabbed him and took him around a corner. "Jet, I need you to do me a favor."
"Sure, what do you need?" He was eager to help Relo. After all, she has done for him.
"I want you to spend the day with Ileana," Relo asked.
"What." Jet wasn't expecting that.
"Ileana, spend the day with her." She repeated.
Jet put his hand on his chin and started rubbing it. "I heard you the first time, just seemed like a weird favor."
"Well, Ileana has been depressed since the accident, and I know you are busy. If you could just spend the day with her. I think it would mean a lot to Ileana." Relo's smile screamed I will kill you if you don't do this.
"Ok, I will spend the day with her. Just one thing, what am I supposed to do. It's not like there is much to do around here." There really wasn't much to do at the castle. Jet just read books and did training.
"I don't care what you do. Take her for a walk. Just spend the day with Ileana." Relo was now tapping her chin, trying to come up with what to do.
Thoughts of what to do, were running through Jet's mind. 'If it was Amanda, it would be simple go look at games. Me and her almost think alike in that regard.'
Relo suddenly had a smile on her face. "I know what you can do."

The Writer
Frustrated with his limits, the young writer Seven accepts an offer from a supernatural entity, traveling to its world whilst given the chance to live past his regrets. Humans, though, are creatures that don't easily change, and his warped views of reality turn him into an unpredictable ally or foe in the game of death that is to follow. For the sake of translating his new experiences into a written masterpiece, he will spare nothing, not even his own life - so long as the work is complete. *** Romance tag was previously there, but it starts quite late in the story and I've yet to reach that part. I know how it will happen (more precisely, how I want it to happen), but currently, there are just subtle nuances that can only be left to the reader's very expansive imagination, and I wouldn't call that romance but a

Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place.
