Inside the carriage, everyone's focus was on unconscious Felix. He was sleeping on one side while using Lily's lap as his pillow while daisy was fanning with her cloth and Uncle Fang was examining him. The worry on Uncle Fang's face was obvious.
Felix entire body was filled with various kinds of demonic tattoos which were radiating crimson light.
Uncle Fang was totally confused. He tried every kind of body analysis but he wasn't able to find the reason behind Felix's unconscious. What boggled his mind was the tattoos which appeared out of nowhere of Felix' body.
'I think I have to use that...but... '
"You two, leave both of us alone and wait outside the carriage," Uncle Fang said as he retrieved a tiny bottle from his storage ring.
After carefully placing Felix head on the seat, Lily and Daisy left the carriage with uttering a single word.

Flashback...
Around one year back, Inside a low-lit room. A man who was dressed in a white silk dress was conversing with a woman while kneeling on the floor, which was made out of white marble.
"Master, Brother black informed me about your summon." The man spoke respectfully.
"Hmm...I did summon you. I have a very important mission for you. Toward the eastern side of our kingdom, there is a city known as 'Goldmore'. Do you know about that place? " The women asked.
"Yes, I know about that place, Master."
"There is a small house which is located near the canyon and that is the place where I used to stay along with my Grandson, Felix. Your mission is to make sure he stays alive and bring him back to the Imperial Academy and make sure you don't force him because a day will come when he will come to you. Any question? "

"Master, are you leaving brother black and me too?"
"Yes...something big is about to happen and my family wants me to stop that 'Big thing'. So, I'll be leaving in few days. One more thing" The women said as she retrieved 3 bottles which contained blood, "You have to make sure Felix drink these blood drops when he turns 12 years old, 14 years old and 16 years old."
"Why do I feel Master is hiding something important from me? " The man asked with a curious gaze.
"You won't change, will you?" The women asked as she casually kicked the man but that force behind that casual kick was sufficient enough to nail that man into the wall.
"Hahaha...Master is still the same..." The man said while he spat the blood in his mouth.
"Hahahaha" The women laughed said, "Indeed, I'm hiding something. I'm not certain but the Grandson I just talked about is a cross between a human and a god-tier demon.
These blood drops I just gave you are from an angel and If Felix drinks it, the demonic part of his bloodline will be purified and he will become a normal human. Happy?"
"Yes, Master"
[A/N: For those who have low IQ, It was a conversation between Felix's Grandma and Uncle Fang...]

Outside the carriage, 4 teenagers were waiting anxiously. A circular shield was protecting the carriage from the assault of ferocious beasts. These teens were Lily and her Squad.
"See see, the color of the moon is changing back to its normal color." Daisy pointed her finger at the moon while she called her sister.
"Hmm...." Lily nodded.
"Aghhhhhhhhhh...."
When everyone was observing the changes in the moon, a long painful scream came from inside of the carriage. They were stunned when they heard it and just after the scream, Uncle Fang peeked out from the door and said,

"Felix regained his consciousness and you all can enter the carriage now" Uncle Fang quickly said as he opened the door.
Inside the carriage, Uncle Fang was asking questions to Felix. Felix was sitting in the corner while smiling like a maniac.
"How are you feeling, Felix?" Uncle Fang asked. Even though he and Felix met only a few days back, but the emotional connection they made were deep.
"You don't have to worry, Uncle. I'm perfectly fine." Felix said while tilting his head. He was still smiling and that smug look of his...
"I'm serious, talk properly," Uncle Fang said as he tried to slap Felix. He was not liking the current behaviour of Felix.
His slap was about to make contact with Felix's cheek but it was stopped in mid-air.
"Oops...My hands moved on its own...hehe" It was Felix's hand which stopped the Incoming slap...
'How is this even possible? This brat stopped my slap as if it was nothing...something is wrong here...'
"...So you are saying you are perfectly fine?" Uncle Fang completely ignored the fact that Felix just stopped his slap with one hand. Even though the force behind the slap was not that high, but for a kid to stop it was not normal.
"I'm perfectly fine and I suggest Uncle continue our Journey because everything is back to normal! I'm really excited to see what Imperial City looks like...." Felix replied casually.
When Uncle Fang heard what Felix just said, he quickly went outside the carriage and to his surprise, everything was back to normal.
'How did he know that? Wasn't he unconscious? I think I should report about this incident'
Uncle Fang hurriedly took out a talisman and started to record a voice message...
"What are you doing Uncle? Let's not waste time and continue our journey." But before he could crush the talisman, he was stopped by Felix.
"Hahaha...nothing...I was just trying to see if everything really turned back to normal. " Uncle Fang said awkwardly as he stored back the talisman inside his storage ring. He didn't like the idea of lying, but sometimes we got to do, what we have to do.
"Uncle, I want to sit with you in the driver seat, can I?" Felix requested.
"Sure...sure..Let's go" Uncle Fang had no reason to deny Felix's request. After checking the state of the carriage, Uncle Fang and gang resumed their Journey.
'It feels so good to be able breath fresh air again.... but I really feel bad for humankind... but a deal is deal...even if it's with the devil.'

Reaper of Cantrips
On the alien planet of Scaldigir, where the people are grey, there are average individuals, and then, there are arcanes. Every arcane gets one power, except for the reapers. They can take as many powers as they want, so long as they lift them from the bodies of the dead and the dying. It’s a useful power that could preserve the best abilities among the arcanes – in theory. Thus far, every reaper has been too impatient to wait for the deaths of their comrades. Murder and neglect; the words are synonymous with reaper. That’s how everyone else sees it. Pan, the last of the reapers, doesn’t think she’s that bad. She hides among the arcanes as a ghost seer. She’s content, with being the one and only reaper, not to mention a secret, until she meets a special ghost. Updates Monday, Wednesday, Friday Revisions completed in April 2021

*This is the reworked version of my original story Rebirth Online, due to the vast changes that will be taking place and a desire for a proper number of views and new comments on the changes I have made a new page and will include a link back to the original Rebirth Online for those interested in seeing the changes. Click Here for Rebirth Online* Adam Sterling, A man who through a series of events went from being a bouncer at the local biker bar to being a pro gamer in the world of Rebirth Online, a fantasy VRMMO based upon real life ancestry and myth. Players will each have a tailor made story much like a tabletop campaign, their choices in all things will have an effect on the game itself even if it is small. Players will have their DNA tested which will allow accurate placement within the old world, in the same general area as their ancestors would have been. Allowing them to chose their starting area from the many races that make up their ancestry. from there they will undergo the Trials, a series of events serving as their entry into adulthood which will start the players off at the age of Thirteen, with every trial completed they will be advanced in age until they are Eighteen, from there they will have the option of staying Eighteen or advancing to their physical age. From there the world is open for them to go where they please, be it becoming a blacksmith, a cook, or a lord, though they will have to earn everything through the proper ways, hard work, and dedication to their roles. After all, one can not show up to a city expecting to be its mayor for nothing.
8 199An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

I've been writing for as long as I can remember, but I'd always been torn between different projects. That's why I decided to dedicate myself to a pretty strict schedule of writing and editing a single chapter every month since the start of 2019. This is an ongoing, work in progress novel that follows a ragtag group of sellswords as they delve into a lost city on the edge of the known world in search of their fortunes. Within, though, they find much more than they ever expected and find themselves in a race against time to unravel a mystery centuries old.
