Snow battered the tiny setttlement as winter reached its peak. Anwen was beginning to get restless again. She hated winter almost as much as she hated being cooped up. She ventured out to check on the rest of her crew when the snow let up, which wasn’t as often as she liked. Aytigin said that because the snow came much later than it usually did it was likely it would stay longer than it did too. Anwen groaned and shifted. This small shift unsettled her already queasy stomach. She lurched from the bed to the door. She swung it open and retched. She fell to her knees in the snow drift. At this point, there was no denying it. Asena was going to get a sibling, much as Anwen hated the idea of pregnancy.
