Akira didn’t realize she was singing, something she hadn’t done since she was 16, until Prince Ehren took her hand. The words froze in her mouth and she couldn’t get them out.
“Don’t stop, please,” the prince whispered in her ear.
She turned to look at him and instantly regretted it. Their faces were so close now, she could feel his breath on her eyelashes. She had the urge to kiss him. She knew, however, that he was a prince and she was nowhere near a lady. She had no right to kiss him, much less want to. Yet, she couldn’t stop her heart from pounding.
“If you keep looking at me like that, I might have to kiss you,” she murmered.
At this distance, she could see that his eyes were the color of honeyed whiskey shot through with cinnamon brown. Yet, somehow they were dark and unfathomable. She’d never seen a pair of eyes that facinated her more than his.
