《Sort of Forgotten》Chapter 4.1

Several hours of questions and answers later, Sariah finally had made the decision to infuse Kavon with her own energy and try to push open The Way so that he may become Bonded. This act holds a great amount of danger for the receiving person but should be much less dangerous for someone that is already in tune with magical energy.
Kavon had reluctantly admitted to being of the Touched bloodline, a creation of Sariah herself. During the war, Sariah created the Touched to act as her eyes and ears, watch her flank and assist her in sowing destruction across the realms. According to Kavon, he was one of three people left in his bloodline, and none had kids. He, however, was the sole recipient of the mage ability. Hopefully, with her energy having touched even a small part of his being in ages past, he would accept it and not vaporize.
“Kavon, I am also of the Touched Bloodline (a lie fabricated to explain why her energy would feel so familiar to him), obviously not from this realm. I have enough energy stored that I may be able to awaken your magical abilities enough to form a Bond. Do you know how to search for and seal a bond once your eyes are open to the other realms?”
“Haha! I’ll play along with this ridiculous game. Yes, I have read the texts about bonding many times. I also know that you would have to be able to push not only myself, but the being I’d be bonding far enough to breach The Way and bring us back. No one person can contain that much magical energy.”
“So, let’s make a friendly wager then. You allow me to try, at worst you’ll have some energy to play with for a while and experiment on if you survive. At best, you’ll become bonded and be a real mage. From my understanding, you’d be the first in a VERY long time. My wager is this, If I can pull this off you will serve me for 100 years without question. What are your terms?” Sariah stated matter-of-factly.

“My terms would be this, when you prove that you cannot do this, you will stay here and provide me with as much magical energy as you can for my experiments, answer my questions in full and honestly and do me no harm until I release you. I will not do you any harm, nor will I allow others to do you harm in any way. I swear it on the Destroyers true name.” Kavon stated with a slight bow to his head.
Srit…Srit, did you feel that? I felt the promise lock into place with my magic.
Yeah, what’s the big deal? You’ve had millions of promises locked with your magic. OHHHHHH! The magic would have had to been able to flow through all the realms to lock! NICE!
Sariah replied, Yeah, our breakout is seemingly having a profound effect on the overall flow of magical energy. Let’s have some fun with this one. Help me push him through your realm first, I want to build his momentum through our connection so that the other realms are easier to traverse.
You got it boss lady!
“A deal is struck, I swear it on my own true name.”
Kavon’s eyes went as wide as plates for an instant before a torrent of magical energy assaulted his entire being. He had realized exactly whom he was speaking two when he felt the promise locked in magically as “Sariah” stated, “A deal is struck, I swear it on my own true name.”. He, however, had no time to comment or react. As soon as the lock was placed, “Sariah’s eyes went pitch black, with a blinding light at the center. Every color imaginable swirled inside of that light as it sucked his essence in. He could now clearly feel the magnitude of the power he was being faced with. Well, that’s not accurate. He felt like a single spec in an infinite space of flowing energy. He felt life and death, earth and fire, pleasure and pain and every form of emotion in between. It was if the entire world was encapsulated in this one being. Suddenly Kavon was pulled from the mass and directed to a door labeled “Fuck Off”, Srit’s head appeared as the door knocker.

“Hey man! Are you sure you don’t want a Demon Bond? I’m telling you man; my people could really use this win. I could score you a smoking hot Succubus, how about it man?!” the Srit shaped door knocker said with a wink.
“With respect good Srit, I am hoping to find a Gno….” Kavon was interrupted by the sudden movement of a prompt middle finger appearing out of the door and the overly loud “Well fuck you then!” statement while it flung open and sucked him in. Ah shit! I think I just pissed off a Demon.
“Don’t worry about him…” A soft voice rang out from everywhere, “Demons are selfish by nature, especially little shit’s like him. As I’m sure you’ve figured out, he really is Srit, King of the Imps. By the way, your body is completely fucked up back in the physical realm. I think I may have broken you a bit, but, I’ll put you back together once your bond is formed. Anyhow, once I push you through the Demon realm, you should hit the Golem Realm, continue until you get where you want to go. Make the deal quickly, I am not sure how long I can keep this open.
Nearly inaudibleKavon heard, "Srit! You fucking pervert! That’s my ear! Can’t you see I’m in the middle of a ritual?!? GAAAHHH!" followed by silence.
Welp though Kavon I guess I just go with the flow. Passing over the Demon Realm was quite the adventure. Everywhere Kavon looked, there were Demons of all shapes and sizes. He never thought that the Demon realm would be so…civilized looking. It appeared very similar to the Human Realm, complete with buildings, foot traffic, trade and even beggars in the street. While interesting, nothing quite pulled his attention to any of the beings individually. Of course, the astral travel he was currently experiencing ensured that none of the Demons would notice him either, unless a natural bond was there. Continuing to allow the flows of magic carry him across the ream, Kavon allowed himself to dream of a Bond with a Gnome Tinkerer. How wonderful it will be!

How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend

The Exodus Project
This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.
