The Song was mesmerizing, captivating. Before they realized they saw something or someone swimming up stream in a quick manner, a lone figure a first, joined by others in a blink of an eye. half fish half women with green scales that covered their tails, from time to time some of them emerged playfully and sang, other giggled while covering their faces with their hands, long hair covered their heads, with different colors. what was clear is that all of them where attractive in a weird sort of way. Hard to miss since they where naked.

They stared and stared for God knows how long, mouths wide open, they did not move, this only caused the Mermaids to laugh harder. they talked between each other in a quick manner, it was a different dialect, one they could not understand.

A rogue Mermaid swimmed closer to the river shore and splashed some water with her tail towards the two brothers releasing them from their spell (one could only call it that)

A couple of them rose up to their waist from the deep waters of the river and sang for a good thirty seconds and then dived down disappearing in to the confusing movements of the flock.

"Play something" Said Jack without taking his eyes away from the spectacle.

Brandon looked at Bosco who was still laying on the floor with his head raised looking at the strange creatures, for some reason he was calm, he looked more curious than afraid or threatened.

Brandon sat down next to the fire and tried to focus on playing some tune. He got distracted by an emerging Mermaid with a good front porch (cough cough) and the sound that emanated from his ocarina was not the one intended, this made the female Giggle and dive back under the water playfully.

He closed his eyes and focused, using all of his Willpower he dived down inside his mind. Floating in between raging fire, the flames touched his skin but it felt like they where made of ice and before he realized it his body was moving on his own, following the flow.

The music was being projected from deep down, one could argue that i came from his soul, slowly he felt the energy held within him flowing inside his body, pulsating with each heath beat, he was surrounded by a fire. No he was the fire, Ever changing, a projection of him, what made him who he was.

When he opened his eyes. He was not sitting near the fire pit any more, instead he was in the river edge. His body had a will of his own, and while he played the tune he moved as if he was in a trance, each step, each time his body bent it meant something to him, deep down inside his soul was speaking for him.

The edge of his vision began to blur but he was unable to stop his body kept pressing on, more aggressive movements started to appear, and the tune's tempo increased in speed, around him the ground was releasing steam, he did a twist and then his legs gave out, even with his blurry vision he saw the ground closing on him as he fell down. Only blackness followed.

The music Flew trough him, and the way The Mermaids danced in the water hypnotized him, their singing reached deep down inside of him painting a picture in his mind. it was a song about a weeping woman crying on top of the grave of a loved one.

On the corner of his eye he saw movement, he turned and saw Brandon dancing along the tune, the mermaids seemed to follow him, along the edge of the river, raising their heads over the water every now and then.

Jack forgot about the Mermaids the moment he realized something was wrong. he saw his brother covered in what seemed a thin layer of flames, Rushing towards him he tried to stop Brandon from doing this trance dance but he was unable to get close to him, in a few seconds his hands where already covered in blisters, shortly after his brother increased his pace the flames became bigger, a thicker layer covered his whole body before he passed out in the edge of the river shore near the water. Around him the stones where burning hot and steam rose up around him, but when Jack picked up Brandon His brother was of normal temperature, his clothes and the wooden armor was intact.

He exhaled loudly relived. it only seemed like his brother passed out from exhaustion. which was normal after the show he just displayed.

After laying him back down inside their shelter and making sure Bosco stayed with him he went near the river and recovered the Ocarina that was laying on the floor. That thing was dangerous.

The mermaid where laughing and singing, ignoring the severity of the situation.

Jack sat down and looked at the Creatures in front of him, some of them where singing their own songs now. Others where playing games between them, splashing water and then racing one after another.

A pair of eyes was staring at him, reflecting the light of the bonfire a mermaid that only had half of her head out of the water was looking at him, the water line less than one inch shy of covering her eyes. Her stare seemed to leave him naked, She did not looked at him she looked in him. He shifted on his seat and meet her gaze, they looked at each other for an unknown amount of time, slowly the Mermaid swimmed closer to the river shore, for each feet she got closer more of her face was visible as the river became shallower.

He had no words to describe her beauty. it was overwhelming. She smiled, showing pearl white human like teeth, somehow Jack was relieved that they where not some sharp fangs like the goblin's. After taking out a pendant she had around her neck she tossed it to him, he caught it mid air, the rope was wet and made from a material he could not discern, in the middle of it an hexagonal stone rod was hanging, it was of purple color, resembling an amethyst.

Jack looked at the mermaid while still holding to the pendant. he pointed a finger at himself and asked "For me?"

They did not speak each other's language but the mermaid smiled and agreed with her head. Jack shrugged and put the pendant on. Immediately he felt a "pop" similar to when he leveled a skill, before he could check his status the mermaid dived and all of them rushed down the river with the current scary fast. Jack calculated their speed to be at least 40 miles per hour.

He opened his status and choked on some saliva, he coughed loudly and could only say one word between each breath "what the fuck?"
