"I'm writing you with my last strength My King.
the Campaign was a total failure, we could not expand our territory what is more, we are retreating and leaving behind part of our territory to the savages. An arrow is protruding from my chest and i don't think i have much longer.
Cousin, don't blame yourself for allowing me to march to this pointless battle, it was my warmongering that lead to not only my death but the death of half of my men.
funny how when face to face with death one only wants to be with their loved ones.
i wish you good fortune and hope the kingdom can find peace in this generation.
I will be seeing you on the other side."
-Last Words of General Corvus Antorax 3rd of his name.
The first thing Brandon noted was the overwhelming silence. it was not like the night before with insects and birds singing, even the wind seemed to have abandoned them. with one hand Jack tossed the remaining fire wood they had stored inside the crack of the cliff and shortly after a noticeable fire started to raise from inside of their digged out firepit.
They saw a pair of eyes in the darkness glistening towards them, as the flames rose and reflected from the cliff made out of pale rock that was behind them they could make out what was in front of them.
It was the head that resembled a giant owl like creature, it stood at around 6 foot tall.
Its roar almost blew them to the ground, it was the same roar they heard the first night, but dangerously close. The beast emerged from the forest, it advanced slowly, testing the waters. pure black eyes that seemed like looking in to the abyss stared at them.

If you had to describe the beast you would say that i had the body of a grizzly bear, with the dark fur of a black bear but the head is the one of an owl, a big hooked beak was deffinetly sharp and deadly it probably can fit a human leg between it and cut it in half with its seizer like motion 'a fucking owl bear" Brandon thought 'genuinely terrifying. thanks god'
It's shoulders where wide, and only by guessing they could tell it weighted more than 1500 pounds. The beast drag its claws along the rock of the cliff shaving some in the process and showing of how sharp it's nails where.
the brothers stayed together and rotated, keeping the fire between them and the beast, Bosco was to the left snarling and ready to jump in.
"Alright, lets test this" jack handed his phone to Brandon "play the ring tone and toss the phone inside the crack we sleep in when its behind it. then we attack."
Brandon took the phone, he was ready, holding his stone spear tightly with one arm, the beast was circling the fire place at a slow pace, without taking its eyes from them. the new shining black fur showed recent wounds. Blood had clothed but it was recently in a fight, probably last night and it still have not recovered from it.
"now" jack whispered while taking a step closer to the fire pit.
Brandon turned on the typical android phone ring tone and tossed the phone inside the crack of the cliff they where using as shelter, the sound traveled over the bear who looked at the device with a confused face but when the phone reached the cavern like structure the sound echoed inside and was projected towards the Owlbear who turned towards it surprised.

Jack lunged forward the moment he was outside the monster's vision field, the spear landed behind the beast's shoulder it found some resistance from the fur at first, and the spear shaft bended slightly only to end up piercing the beast in the blink of an eye.
the Owlbear screamed in pain and turned around, the spear which was embed inside its chest worked against him. not being able to stand his ground while still holding tightly to the shaft he was launched by the sheer force of the Beast, the spear worked as a force transmitter and launched Jack flying for around 12 feet, his momentum stopped by the trunk of a tree rendering him unconscious or so it seemed.
"Fuck" Brandon cursed while the Owlbear was scanning the surroundings while coughing out blood from his pierced lungs. its eyes more afraid than threatening fixed on Brandon who raised his spear, they both lunged at each other immediately.
"FUCK YOU!" screamed Brandon while stabbing with his spear, somehow Bosco was lodged in the air to the back of the Owlbear's neck and was trying to tare it out, the bear kept charging pushing Brandon back, moving slowly since its left paw was rendered useless because of the Spear stuck behind its shoulder, its beak snapped trying to catch Brandon who was slowly loosing distance, his grip not strong enough to hold the spear was slowly giving away making him get closer and closer to the beast, the stone edge was stuck somewhere between the neck and the side of the monster, probably between two bones since it was not piercing in any deeper, in a swift second Brandon had an idea, he twisted the spear clockwise and pushed the back down against the floor making it a make shift pike like motion. the back of the spear locked with some stones of the floor, Brandon let got and lounged to the side, the Greenwood shaft stopped the bears advance, bending to almost a 90 degree angle before snapping in half.
Brandon layed on the floor some 4 feet away from the beast that was turning towards him, vomiting blood it looked at him, it was scared, you could see it in its eyes. then its back legs gave out, with a lond thud it fell to the ground and exhaled its last breaths creating a slight mist with each breath before it layed down its head for the last time in its life.
"Fuck me backwards!" exclaimed Brandon. Bosco jumped down from the back of the beast with a pice of fur, muscle and bone between its maws.
Suddenly a feeling of invigoration took over him, it felt just like the "pop" the felt while doing the stone weapons, but this one was far more overwhelming, located deep inside their stomach at the hight of the belly button, it resembled more an orgasm than anything else.
Brandon dropped to his knees and exhaled loudly. It was finally over.

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.

The Valion Chronicles - The Emergence
An action-adventure story about the struggles of a group of refugees from the war torn world of Valin fleeing the vindictive fury of a scientist turned military madman bent on intergalactic domination. The crew of the Safe Haven finds their way to Earth to discover that not only are there humans there but a variety of other alien species cohabitating on Earth which had become a central trading hub in the time they'd been in contact with a collective known as the Transgalactic Federation of Planets. The story is meant to be my take as a westerner on the concept of a Japanese Shonen Anime written with inspirations from the likes of Power Rangers and Kamen Rider but also meant to be my own spin on the conventions and tropes of the genre with a bit more of a large-scale world and a very open ended universe with lots of room to develop things outside the world of the main cast.
