《Pink Mage》God after he locked the door "Did I forget to build something? Walls! well they've got a floor so.."

Up above Micky, Pinky was arguing with Bob. It wasn’t really about the [Pink Mage] It was just about the fact that Pinky didn’t want to actually kill a person. Up until this point Pinky had kept Bob from killing people. Bob knew he got a little hot headed and would take things to far. Bob would later thank Pinky for a job well done. Bob and Pinky had a dynamic going.
Sure Trevor and Jeremy did everything that Bob said, But Pinky was Bob’s friend. Bob was streetwise and quick in a fight, Pinky was tactical and devious and kept his head on his shoulders and firmly out of his ass. Up till this point, Bob would always come back to Pinky and thank the little snot for holding him back. It worked when the Baron’s snot-nosed kid came around. It worked when he tried to go too far with Susan (though that was more self-preservation since she would beat the ever living snot out of him and his entire gang.) It worked when he was beating up any other kid at any other time. Even the [Pink Mage] who was one of Bob’s favorite ‘toys’.
But Bob got defensive and scared this time because like usual he took it to far. But this time Bob panicked. Pinky had wanted to send the rope down, and when he saw that Micky wasn’t going to be able to get out on his own, send down Jeremy or Trevor to do it. It was all fine and dandy, and in all likelihood, Bob just had to say that Micky couldn’t cut it and things would be fine. This was all old hat to Pinky and Bob, and they’d done stuff like this a thousand times in a thousand different ways. This wasn’t even the worst thing or the worst situation.
So why did it go wrong? Bob shoved pinky into the pit. While he was in the air pinky watched Bob’s worried sneer. He meant it when he was going to let them get killed. Bob was washing his hands of this. As far as Bob was concerned this was an accident and not his fault. The worst part was that the village was going to believe him. Pinky was many things but honest he was not. Bob was not honest either but he was popular.
If he ever got in trouble there were one hundred villagers swearing before all the gods that they saw him anywhere but where the trouble was, also simultaneously the trouble was started by the other person and it was their fault. Honestly, the lies were so blatant favoritism it made the other kids cry right there. Them and Bob always had such a hard time holding back from laughing and looking repentant and innocent. Of course, that never stopped them from making faces at the crying kids or laughing silently when no one was looking.
Pinky closed his eyes in slow motion as Bob tossed the rope at him while he was still falling. “You wanted the rope.” he said just before he landed. Afterall speech is a free action. Pinky saw Bob turn around. This was going to hurt Pinky thought just before the world went dark.

The bottom of the Pit gave out. Welp, they thought it might become a cave soon thought pinky as the world around him rumbled. Luckily the cave collapsed but the falling debris didn’t fall near Pinky and Micky since they were thrown clear. Pinky rolled and groaned and felt like he coughed up solid air. He slowly breathed in and out letting himself recover. It really wasn’t that big of a fall, sure his head hurt but people could have survived much worse.
Unfortunately Pinky was a monster orphan. One of the many orphaned to monsters. The Williams had decided to take him in after their own child had died to sickness. Unfortunately by that time Pinky was already malnourished and it showed in his growth. That’s why he was Pinky the little kid. Originally Bartholomew, Pinky much preferred to live by his shorter, smaller name. And Pinky took to the small life like bats to the night. Quickly showing what kind of terror the little kid could be. He was neighbors with Bob and the two became a dynamic duo overnight. Pinky had shown he could make something of himself even if he was the little kid.
Now he was regretting the ability to breath. *Cough cough* He inhaled air, fast and deep as he could, until the air fought back and he coughed again. Welp nothing is going to do anything if he doesn’t do it. Micky was over there and… this was no slime cave. Pinky could see. Slime caves didn’t allow you to see in the dark, Dungeons did.
Dungeons trapped mana into the rock infusing it over time. It’s one of the annoying things about natural dungeons and what made them basically impossible to get rid of. People had tried to varying degrees of success. Oh sure some attempts were successful but they cost exorbitant amounts of money and man power that the village, no the kingdom could not afford. And that was to get rid of a low rank dungeon.
Sure this was a low ranking dungeon… because if it was high ranking, Micky and Pinky would be dead, so Pinky hoped that it was low rank… ya. Pinky did not believe in that hope. He was seeing werewolves and vampires and dragons and…
*Ergh* Micky “Oh good you’re awake, you’re on point.” Pinky. Micky was still not conscious yet. Nor was he in a state to move. Well, he wasn’t even in a state to be conscious at the moment but that was changing.
*Ergh* "Pinky? What are you doing here?” Micky
“Well I...” Pinky
“Get out of my bed!” Micky said with the strength of a whisper.
“Woah, woah there.” Pinky said as he grabbed Micky to stop him from struggling.
“Shh, don’t be too loud we’re in a dungeon.” Pinky.
“So you got left behind too hu? Slime pits, Poetic justice. We can die together then.” Micky.
“We can get out of this if we work together, and I won’t make sure that ‘Pinky? Get out of my bed’ is what’s written as your last words.” Pinky

“You wouldn’t dare!” Micky.
“One last prank before I die? My death as the prank? Sounds like a good way to go if you ask me.” Pinky said as he sneered down at Micky. Micky glared back, but relented with a groan.
“Well at least there aren’t any monsters around.” Micky
“How can you tell? You’re a [Pink Mage]” Pinky
“Because if there’s one thing that a [Pink Mage] has more knowledge then anyone, it’s in agro range. And with all our talking, and that fall, monsters would have already swarmed us, Pinky.” Micky said and the two glared at each other again.
“Besides, I’ma need a minute before I can move again.” So they laid there while Micky recovered. They made small talk as Micky recovered with his eyes closed. Micky knew it wasn’t a good thing but it was all he could do from fainting again, so he was glad for the conversation.
Then they heard a squeak. Micky tensed and Pinky moved and scattered some rocks. The noise could have well been thunderous in the silence of the cave. Pinky and Micky waited in the dark of the dungeon, their faces aglow with the barely visible light. They had their faces hard set and ready for a fight. They would take this thing down or die fighting.
They would do nothing for the next 30 minutes but be extremely anxious because the creature apparently passed them by. This was finally enough time for Micky to get off his lazy bruised arse. He finally could move again but not fast and not far. He was also huffing for the effort. He would need to see an [Healer] About those bruises when this is over… If this is ever over.
Micky looked around at the natural looking cave that they where in, everything was monochrome and he wasn’t able to see very far or well. The light of dungeons wasn’t true light but actually dense mana. You could tell how powerful a dungeon was directly by how much light there was in the cave. This was bad, very very bad, for Pinky and Micky, because low leveled dungeons did not have any ‘light’ in them. Only [Low] leveled dungeons did.
This meant that they could expect more than just slimes and other base level monsters. The squeak from before should have been a sign but it was a monster that could have found its way inside. But no, given the light the monster was likely produced from the dungeon itself. This, like what was said before, is very very bad.
Micky met eyes with Pinky. He seemed to get, it but Micky didn’t think that Pinky really got it. Micky was a [Pink Mage] so despite Pinky being smart he likely did not study this as much as Micky did. This dungeon was already terraforming its own ecosystem and producing [Mob]s. It likely had a [Boss] and could even have [Roving Mini-Boss]s that found their way in from ‘the forest’ which was worse.
Bob and friends often went into the forest, something that Micky never did. But they never went far into the forest. Who knew what could sneak out from the forest into the dungeon? If it was from the center. Micky shivered. There where real monsters in the center of the forest. Not just fodder and [Mob]s but real true blue blooded [Monster]s. And Micky knew that Pinky and he would not survive a fight with one. Oh sure, Micky had been in fights with monsters when he was in a party with Jimmy.
Party Duh, *Smack* Micky smacked himself in the head. This hurt because he was still severely bruised in the face and the hand. Luckily his eye was still swollen but not swollen shut. And the smack to the face, while wasn’t helping, didn’t return it to its previous condition. He groaned and got up, to the condescending looks of Pinky. Micky just gave him a judging defiant glare back.
Micky started shambling forward since going back was not an option. Luckily dungeons always had an exit at ground level due to mana flow and aether buildup. Unfortunately, it was likely in a less traveled area, which pretty much meant the forest. There was the possibility that the exit was not in the forest, since the [Warden]s and [Kingsmen] patrolled the forests but it was doubtful.
This made it even worse because if it was in the forest than they would be in trouble. Which would mean trouble for Pinky and Micky. Bob and friends would of course get off scot-free. Welp, one life ending situation at a time he supposed. Micky got back to shambling to the exit.
“You’re on point.” Said Pinky from behind him. Micky turned around and gave Pinky an inquisitive eyebrow.
“You’re on point so hurry it up.” Said pinky again. Micky looked down at himself then turned back up to Pinky and gave him a dead stare.
“You’re… Ok, Ok already I’m on point.” said Pinky.
“We’re both on point because this isn’t that kind of party. I’m a [Pink Mage] and you’re a [Purple Mage] we are the [Worse] [Party].” said Micky.
“Well I don’t know about worst party there are other-" Micky gave Pinky a withering judgmental stare. "Ok so it’s a pretty bad combo, I’ll admit that.” Pinky said as Micky and he moved towards a slow or possibly quick death, and maybe the exit. Micky with his shambling but dedicated pace and Pinky with his hesitant but healthy walk.

Post War Rules
Life on Torus Terminal is usually fast paced, but simple. A frontier Terminal has little room for easy living, but the great, circular station does boast shopping and culinary experiences from many Imperial races and cultures. Any star is, by its nature, extremely far from its neighbors. But laser highways, and the great shimmering sails of the light-rider spaceships make the trip into only about ten years. Still, the denizens of Torus Terminal eagerly await the day when the Anti-Euclidean Engine their station is built around finally comes online. Once that is done, they will have unfettered access to the entire Empire. Instantaneous travel and trade across hundreds of stars. Torus Terminal does boast one other oddity: a creature which calls itself Human. As he says, the last of his kind for now. He has made quite the life for himself on Torus Terminal, especially in the darker corners of the station. The elites of Torus Terminal praise his name, for once he took up arms, crime began to fall. What they did not realize was that was because he had claimed the seedy underbelly of Torus Terminal for himself and his own goals. The elites praise him as a paragon of law. The criminals fear him as a ruthlessly clever crime boss. Those closest to him, know him as the General. This story was originally posted on the Humanity Fuck Yeah subreddit, where it evolved from a simple play on a historical figure in a science fiction setting into a full blown space opera. I kind of took it as an opportunity to explore a setting I've had rolling around in my head for years. I also decided that it would be nice to have it in a place where I could more easily come back and edit it later, so I'm reposting it here. Here's a link to the original posting if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/e9cwpl/post_war_rules/ If my genre and tagging is subpar, let me know. I'm still new to Royal Road and I'm open to help. Feel free to comment and make suggestions, or discuss. I love comments, and so long as we keep things civil I also love criticism.
