《Origin Of The Forsaken》Chapter 4

Sitting in front of the fire pit Darius is contemplating his dream from last night. “It’s strange, I’ve never had a dream like that. And she called me a champion, was she referring to my blessing? And then there were those images, what was that about?” He mutters to himself as he shakes his head. “I’ll think about it, but I need to get stuff done, and hopefully find some civilization.” He stands and gathers his things.
New Quest: Find Civilization
Objective 1: Find another person.
Description: Alone in a forest with what you need to survive. Find some people to help figure out what’s going on.
Reward: 10 silver coins and coin pouch.
Darius heads to the stream, knowing that if he follows it he should hopefully find civilization. So he does just that, walking downstream. He looks around as he walks, keeping an eye out for any more hares, or even some useful plants. He does manage to find a couple of plants that his [Basic Survival] is telling him are poisonous, which causes him to avoid them.
After around an hour of walking he spots movement, causing him to freeze and look at it. He sees that it’s another hare, he examines it, finding it to be a “Huh, well shit, it’s level 2, so it’s probably stronger than the other two I fought.” He slowly grabs his knife, crouching down. He slowly creeps past, not wanting a fight, but ready for it if necessary. He continues like that until he can’t see the Hare any more, which is when he hears a ding.

Darius had frozen when he heard the ding, but he sighs as he reads the screen. He shakes his head slightly, slowly standing before he continues to walk downstream.
Shortly after he encountered the Hare, he hears something coming from his right. He stops where he is to listen. He can’t tell exactly what it is, but in the hopes that it’s a person he starts to walk towards it, crouching down to activate [Basic Stealth]. After walking for a couple of minutes he reaches a clearing, stopping when he gets close due to horror. It’s a battlefield with dead bodies strewn all throughout the clearing.
He slowly stands, looking around. He sees at least 20 bodies, most of them looking human and wearing white and blue armor, the rest looking to be humans, elves, and orcs wearing armor that has almost a rainbow of colour on it. He hears some coughs coming from someone sitting against a tree.
He jumps from the sound, he looks over and sees a man dressed in the white and blue armor holding his stomach, with blood leaking between his fingers. Darius slowly walks towards the tree, looking over the dying man, knowing that he can’t help him. “W-what happened here?” Darius asks.
The man looks up at Darius surprised, before he coughs again “We lost” he says weakly. “Lost? Against who?” The man laughs before he coughs, wincing “Who else but The Enemy?”
“I have no idea who you are talking about.” The man looks over Darius coughing again as his skin becomes clammy “Be careful kid, they’ll kill us all.” He says before he leans back, his breathing slowing until it stops.
Darius pales as he looks down at the man's corpse “Fuck, fuck, fucking fuck.” He says before he looks around again. He turns and he starts to run back towards his camp, hoping he can avoid whoever is out here with him. He trips a few times, and he has to slow when his Stamina gets too low, but he soon makes it back to camp, sighing as he sees that no one is there.

He looks around, thinking of what he can do to prepare for the people who are coming. He goes over to the pile of branches, picking some up to start to sharpen them, trying to make some stakes. He works as quickly as he can to get through the pile, he gets half done when he decides to go around and plant the stakes in the ground. When he’s finished he’s set up a simple barricade around his camp, and with the last branch he’s fashioned himself a simple spear.
With a ding a screen pops up in front of him

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.

Penance's Pursuit
This future sci-fi fantasy follows the progression of a few main characters as they navigate their unique spheres of life in the year 2242. The story focuses heavily on themes of guilt, personal failing, and penance. The conflict revolves around two main concepts: Man vs. Himself (Internal conflict) and Man vs Man (External conflict). The internal conflicts focus on many of the characters' inner demons and how each of them deal with the scars of the past. The external conflict centers around a mysterious criminal organization called Nexus that conducts human trafficking. There are three groups of main characters. The first group belong to a vigilante mercenary organization called Ab Aeterno. Titus, Venna, and Benjamin are Achilles team. This team is a part of Ab Aeterno's special forces branch which is designated Demon Stalkers. Their goal and mission is to perform assassinations, abductions, and destabilization operations on criminal organizations throughout the solar system. Their current mission places them directly in the path of Nexus. Titus interacted with them in his past and they seem to have unlimited reach, resources, and power. As the team faces this threat, old wounds will surface and dangerous connections to the past will emerge. The second group of characters are on the Mars colony. Randal Page is an analyst for a talent scout company on Mars. He is faced with the reality that the company he thought he was working for is in fact Nexus. His story centers around his coming to realize the duplicity of the company he works for and then his response to the startling realization of his own ignorant involvement. Also on Mars is a woman named FaRarra Njokko. She is a Nexus sex slave in a brothel on Mars and is known by the stage name of Stardust. She is striving to escape when her path crosses with Randal. The final main character is Preston Coretel. He is a monk with a mysterious and shady past. He is on the run from Nexus in more ways than one. He is seeking sanctuary on an abandoned monastery space station in order to avoid agents of Nexus and to atone for his previous involvement with Nexus.
